HOMOSASSA, FL – A couple were arrested after being accused of treating two young boys like ashtrays, burning them with cigarettes multiple times.
According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, they were called on Sept. 11 after a woman said she picked up the boys, ages 2 and 4, from James Huggins. He had been watching the two boys for a few days, and now she’d found they were suffering from multiple burns.
She found them after the 2-year-old began crying during his bath and noticed a burn under his arm. He reportedly told her that “Timmy had hurt him.” When she checked out his 4-year-old brother, she found a burn on his hip. According to the arrest report, the older boy said the burn was from “Timmy’s cigarette.”
Later, one of the boys told deputies that Timothy Huggins was mad when he burned him with his cigarette and that Baker had also burned him multiple times. The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment where it was revealed the 4-year-old had been burned six times.
When James Huggins was questioned he said that after he’d been given the boys to watch, he’d left the children in the care of a relative, 30-year-old Timothy Huggins and Timothy’s girlfriend, 35-year-old Patricia “Baby Gonna Cry?” Baker.
The couple have both been charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse. They’ve denied burning the boys.Tags: Burning, Child Abuse, cigarette, Crime, Florida, Patricia Baker, Timothy Huggins
