Tony Lee DavisSpartanburg, SC – Some people just shouldn’t be allowed to care for any living thing. For example, 33-year-old Tony Lee Davis from North Carolina.

This moron went inside the WestGate Mall and left his 18-month-old bulldog, Thor, in his locked car in 95 degree temperatures. When police officers noticed him, Thor was showing all the signs of heat stroke – heavy panting, rapid breathing, and excessive drooling.

They broke a car window to get the dog out, noting that Thor vomited, his tongue had turned purple, and he was too weak to drink any water the officers tried to give him. At about this time, Davis walked up and was promptly arrested and charged with ill treatment of animals.

Thor was taken to the Spartanburg Humane Society and the CARE Animal Emergency Clinic for care. When he arrived, his body temperature was 109 degrees. It could have been higher, but the thermometer didn’t read any higher than that. He was also suffering from tiny bleeds under the surface of his skin and blindness.

Vets say he could regain his sight if his condition improves, but that his prognosis is uncertain until his brain swelling subsides. Although Thor had seizures and vomited Sunday night, he did neither on Monday. This is a good sign, but vets say the lasting effects of heat stroke can include kidney and organ failure, brain damage, seizures and a higher susceptibility to heat stroke in the future.

Davis has since been released from jail, and has refused to comment on the incident.

Ohhh sad 🙁 I just cried. When people “accidentally” or “on purpose” lock living things in hot cars, I get REALLY upset.

  • moron is right!!!

I don’t understand why people have trouble understanding the concept of not leaving an animal in a car during the summer. It’s not hard to understand. People just fucking suck. Poor puppy. I hope he recovers and I hope his former owner is never responsible for another living thing on earth again.

  • I hope the poor little guy will be OK. I have a bulldog and they are particularly susceptible to heatstroke. People suck. 🙁

    Stupid ass. I hate people.

  • This is just a really weird coincidence, yes? http://www.wmctv.com/story/20315798/bubba-thief-pleads-guilty both involve a guy named Tony Lee Davis and bulldog abuse.

Poor pup. Bulldogs are my favorite too – I have always promised a free broken car window to anyone who leaves their animal locked inside their car – especially during the summer

  • techsupp0rt

Poor baby. Hope he regains his vision and gets to go to a family who will actually care for the little guy.

There should be signs in every parking lot – leaving pets or children in your cars unattended WILL result in broken windows. And in fine print, and a severe ass kicking upon your return.

  • wow

  • sugarpie

Damn it, I get that you want to take your pup everywhere you go and think your doing it a favor so it isn’t home all alone. But for fuck sake, how can you NOT get that locking it in an oven isn’t doing it any favors!

  • Hope pup gets better

  • WarriorArtemis

God I hate people that do this shit…I think the punishment should be to leave them in the same car in the same temperature in the same condition. Eye for an eye bitches…

  • Vesper B

Poor little pup. I do hope he recovers enough to have a happy life with a new owner who has an IQ higher than mustard.

This garbage deserves to be locked up in a car for a few days in the sweltering heat. Then again, even with that, he may not get he did anything wrong. His stupid ass face reflects his thoughts, “What did I do wrong? It’s just a dog.”

Frak this guy. Frak this guy hard. I’m going to have some chocolate now… 🙁

  • LuluMontegut

This is the type of person that actually deserves a good old mauling by a pit bull. Fuck, even better, a pack of pit bulls. That would be karma at it’s best.
Damn i want to rip his manhood off and slap him across the face with it, then, when Thor fully recovers, give said man parts to him to use as a chew toy while this piece of shit watches.

  • Rachel Ann

What an asshole. Dear Lord almighty on high do not let this paramecium procreate.

  • MaricelaAlvrz

As the owner of two bulldogs, idk how you can leave them in the car on a hot day. Poor things overheat very easily 🙁 I hope the doggy recovers soon.

  • TheyCallMePathological

Sadly, Thor died, I just saw an updated report from the local Fox News station. I want to hurt these people, potty break my fucking ass, who goes to a MALL for a potty break that last 40 minutes? You pull over at a gas station and go do your business one at a time while leaving the car and the AC running. Poor Thor, so sad.

  • Tonya Oh

    oh nooooo (:

  • Wolf_of_Mars

I just want to go medieval on this SOB.

  • I vote for eye-for-an-eye on this one. Let’s get this guy’s temp up to 109 and see how he likes it. Sheesh.

I called the cops once on a woman who went in a store for about 15 minutes. Cops came, she yells, “I was only in for a minute,” and the cop said, “Minutes can turn into an hour, what were you thinking?” Sadly, they let her go.

Poor, poor Thor. Even with the window down, in the dead of summer? It’s still too much. Sheesh, if you can’t stand the heat, neither can they!

  • Raise yer hand if you would have broke that window yourself if the cops hadn’t been there.

    ((both hands up))

  • A fantasy of justice: Gas his parents and enslave his children. Fine his surviving kin. Feed him to starving homeless domesticated animals, piece by piece, feet first, while hanging inverted, until he expires. Mount his head on a stake outside the animal shelter until it disintegrates from scavenging & putrefaction. Oh. Hey Tony? Scuk youb, fumcag.

  • JohnQknowitall

I bet he treats his significant others with respect and kindness.

  • booker

Sorry but there is no excuse. It’s not an accident to lock a dog in a car in 95 degree heat. This happens all the time and is on the news all the time. This stupid idiot at his age can’t possible say he never heard of someone locking their dog in the car and it dying. I’m not much older than him and I hear about it every year of my life. He should be punished severely. Or he should get in front of a camera and admit that he is so stupid that he shouldn’t reproduce. And someone should smack his parents for raising such a moron too.

  • Neon_Gonorrhea

That dog was minutes from death. Thank goodness for the cops in this situation. Good to see a story where cops arent shooting a dog for once.

This fuckers face is committed to memory. I hope to meet him some day.

  • FrikkenFrak

No one will read this. 99% sure. But if this gets to ONE person, maybe they’ll share it. And share it.

Pulitzer Prize winning article about leaving kids in a car to die. IF YOU THINK IT WOULD NEVER BE YOU, please, please, please read this. And pass it on,

  • misssmartypants

WTF? Those dogs costs an easy 1500.00 on up.

  • BubblesinGriffinGA

I swear, give me 10 minutes alone with this guy…. anyone that can do that to a dog deserves to have his ass handed to him in a doggie bag.

  • BubblesinGriffinGA

Not only did Thor die, but the asshole that left him to rot is going to get a slap on the wrist.
“Ill treatment of animals is a misdemeanor, and since this is a first offense for Davis, he faces up to 60 days in jail, a $100 to $500 fine or both if convicted.”

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

Have read it and shared it previously.

  • CatAtonic99

Poor Bulldoggy. Hope he doesn’t have any lasting effects and is able to make a full recovery.

  • CatAtonic99

Aww sad outcome. 🙁 Glad the pooch is no longer suffering.

  • Leasha

Can someone please tell me WHY an animal’s life is valued far less than a human child’s? They are dependent on their owners to be fed, housed & cared for. Leaving a toddler in a locked car carries far greater charges and jail time (unless the child dies, then the parents can just claim they “forgot” an get off scott free) but for dogs it’s not as bad… released from jail and a slap on the wrist, if that. It pisses me off how animals are not valued as much as they deserve to be.

  • janealvarez

R.I.P. Thor. He died of heat stroke.

  • PostTosties

I feel so sorry for pets that have morons as owners! These new so called “immigrants” come from other countries and allow their dogs to roam freely in the streets! I have two chihuahua’s that adopted me for safety and food. One chihuahua was so thin and now is healthy looking. The other chihuahua was being attacked by their family German Shepard and found refuge at my home. The immigrants don’t even come and get their dog and they see it in my fenced yard. I hate these jerks.

  • PostTosties

These moron’s do this to their babies as well! Creeps.

  • PostTosties

Would you believe that a VET allowed a German Shepard to die in his car in Orange County
in the heat about a year ago! Talk about negligence! A LICENSED Vet that had his own Veterinarian practice!

  • Jessie

Damn. Let’s hope Davis doesn’t have any kids- now and forever.

  • midniteshadows

Babies and animals. Gets me every time. That’s when I thoroughly despise the human race.

  • Thor just died… I hope he dies of heat exhaustion, too.

  • MyHovercraftIsFullofEels

That’s what I thought when I read this. Is this what happens to the kids people leave in car-ovens? So sad, made me cry.

  • PostTosties

I don’t think about it or I will go nuts!

  • Buffettgirl

If Puppyface rides in the car with me and it’s over 65 outside, when I go in ANYWHERE, I turn on the A/C, turn off the car, get out, lock it and then use the remote to turn it back on. If it goes off and I’m not back yet, I turn it on again. It’s pretty simple. This car looks capable of the same thing. This asshat needs to be locked in a metal box in direct sunlight for a few hours, see how great HE feels at the end of it…

  • True

This will continue to happen until we place these asshats in cars in hot weather with the windows rolled up for at least 30 minutes. That’s the only way they will learn. I’ll be glad to hand cuff them too the steering wheel and shut the door in their face.

  • TheLadyDragon

    Poor Thor. 🙁

  • amylu

Thank you, Spartanburg Public Safety officers for your part in saving this poor baby. I hope Thor survives and finds a family who will love him and take proper care of him. And I hope Tony Lee Davis is punished to the fullest extent of the law. I’m thinking jail time, a hefty fine, months of community service at the Spartanburg Humane Society, AND removal of his rights to ever own ANY kind of pet ever again.

Lord, I hope he doesn’t have children.

  • Eleonora Usher-Rigby

Poor Thor. I hope he comes out okay. I wish someone would lock this asshat in a hot car and let the punishment fit the crime.

  • Eleonora Usher-Rigby

I spewed my drink out of my nose when I read the words “do not let this paramecium reproduce.”

  • brian

should have busted the window out with his fuken redneck head

  • JGo555

I can’t watch this video. Kids and animals do it for me… I end up a bawling mess.

  • Nicole L

Tony Lee Davis from North Carolina – May you never own a pet again, may you endure the exact same so you know what it feels like and may you end up the same way as Thor.

  • Lezley

Any update on this little guy????
