Erica ParsonsROWAN COUNTY, N.C. —  Here’s an odd one out of North Carolina that is starting to get some press.

Erica Parsons, who would be 15 right now, was reported missing by her older brother on July 30. While this is troubling, what makes the situation worse is that Erica was last seen in 2011.

Casey and Sandy Parsons, who adopted Erica when she was two weeks old, have told investigators that sometime around July 2011, they were contacted by someone claiming to be Erica’s biological grandmother.

After some phone conversations and Erica visiting the woman several times in Asheville, the Parsons claim that Erica informed them she did not want to come home and wanted to live with her biological grandmother. The Parsons did not protest, and say they have not heard from their adoptive daughter since.

It has now been revealed that Erica’s biological grandmother died five years ago. So either the Parsons allowed Erica to live with a stranger and just haven’t given a shit about her safety ever since, or something even more sinister has happened.

Family members and friends have been talking to reporters, and frequenting the comment sections of news articles, to report that Erica was treated like dog shit in the Parsons house. Not just by the adults, but also by the Parsons children. So it wouldn’t be a stretch for Erica to take the first opportunity she could to get out of that situation.

But local police, who have brought in the FBI and SBI in their search for Erica, are not satisfied with the Parsons’ story and have been vocal about that. This has led to the Parsons hiring an attorney and are now no longer cooperating with police in the search for their missing daughter.

Couple Charged With Murder After Hanging 3-Year-Old By Feet, Torturing Him To Death Over Three Days

The girl’s adoptive grandparents, Janet and Steven Parsons, do not feel Casey and Sandy are telling the truth about what happened to Erica. Erica’s 19-year-old brother, who is the one who reported her missing only after getting kicked out of his parents’ house, said he also fears his parents are not telling the truth.

Erica Parsons is described as 4 feet 5 and weighing between 85 and 90lbs. She has brown hair and brown eyes and appears small for her age. Anyone with information on Erica Parson’s case is asked to contact the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and ask for Lt. Chad Moose at 704-216-8687 or Investigator Clint Mauldin at 704-216-8710.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Erica was taken in by some well-meaning people and has been enjoying the last couple of years out of the Parsons’ home, and is doing great.

“Erica Parsons is described as 4 feet 5 and weighing between 85 and 90lbs. She has brown hair and brown eyes and appears small for her age. “

In a lot of abuse/neglect stories you see the abused are often under weight and way under sized for what they should be. Precursor?

If you want someone to abuse and torture, then go adopt someone like Trent Franks…not a child.

Wtf is wrong with these people?

  • Abroad

    I hope you’re hopes will be vindicated…..

  • Texas Ranger

Damn. this is effed up. Wish the lawyer had a spine and told them shitheads to help to find her. I hate frickin lawyers for this very reason. Spineless money grubbin bastard

  • Poor girl is probably buried somewhere on that property smh

  • Makes me ill!!! I am with you, I am so hoping she is living with someone people who really wanted a child. But I know the likelihood of that is probably nil. 🙁

  • Ugh, I hate people…

  • I hope you are right and she is living happily away from those creepy people

  • IntelligentVirtue

:-(, poor baby. I don’t know why it this story made my eyes water. Maybe it’s because of your hopeful theory. I’ll be crossing my fingers and toes

  • Sad a little girl was just forgotten about. Hoping for a good turn out on this story, but unlikely.

  • Vesper B

I was doing ok until I got to Morbid’s little theory. It seems my mascara isn’t waterproof today.

Poor little girl. She’s got such a precious face. Why the frak do people adopt kids only to treat them like crap?

  • So bizarre 🙁

  • misssmartypants

Its not happening. That she lives with nice people. I would hope that ICE is looking into films and stills of her face if the parents did hand her over to a stranger. But, in all likelyhood, shes dead, and the adoptive parents came up with that bullshit story, when her absence was questioned.

  • Pathetic parents. If you don’t want your kid, there are ways, especially if they are adopted. To not protest and simply not report anything? So disgusting. At least the 19-year-old for finally spoke up, just wonder if he was involved.

  • video starts playback upon clicking the link. I’d rather read the artical

  • Smells like a dead kid to me. UGH People suck!

  • Miss_Ann_thrope

The lawyer told them not to cooperate because he probably knows what really happened to her. He is all about protecting his clients right now – it does not look good for this little girl.

  • MilfOf2

So you have to go thru series of background checks and paperwork to adopt a dog but it seems any fuckin piece of shit can adopt a child. I am completely pro life but seeing frequent stories like this i kind of understand why women choose abortion over adoption.

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

I smell so many rats that I might as well be in the New York City sewer system.

  • Texas Ranger

Yep. if the fucker had any balls he give the shitheads up in a heart beat. But noooooo, gotta be all professional and shit. I couldn’t live with myself, don’t know how he/she does.

  • Tenbux

My boss once explained defending the obviously guilty as “making damn sure police and prosecutors follow proper procedure, because letting them get away with sloppy work leads to innocent people going to prison”

  • Buffettgirl

Poor child – it must have been an awful existence to always be treated like an unwanted guest in what was your own home. I SO hope she is out there somewhere happy, despite the fact that logic tells me differently…

  • vjhunny

I have a very bad feeling about this. I think her “parents” did something to her and are trying to cover up their dirty deed. Erica parsons, I am so sorry that your entire life was shit. So unfair.

  • IntelligentVirtue

    Adopt a child~look favorably I guess:-(

But yes, I agree that hopefulness of something of something reeally super good happening to her ask opossed to the alternative probably brought the waterworks

  • Waiting that long seems like guilt to me.

  • technicolorpachyderms

The fact that the brother reported her missing means he must know something, right? If their story was true, he wouldn’t have any reason to think she wasn’t with biological family. And the fact that the grandparents seem so certain that something awful happened. I just hope wherever she ended up that she’s still alive. Maybe she’ll see her face on the news and call 911.

I think this story bothers me especially because let’s say the family gave/sold her to some sicko and she’s alive in some awful situation… People in those situations often get through thinking of their family waiting for them. Where would she go if she were saved? I am just so sad for her–whatever happened to her. I hope at the very least the police build a strong case and put these two away. But it’s still not enough, because nothing will erase what they’ve done–whatever it is.

  • Texas Ranger

Yep. Bet that makes them feel good inside. I know thats the reason, I really do…just so selfish of the parents. If they know..and can be proven…kill em dead twice, just for the trouble they cause.

  • rpgmomma8404

I really hope she’s okay but stories like this rarely end well.

  • rpgmomma8404

You have to jump through hoops to adopt or become a foster parent. People don’t just hand kids over like that. These people who are doing shit like this are probably lying to get their hands on children or they have this dream that these kids will attach to them like that. When they don’t or the child ends up having issues the adoptive/foster parents get resentful.

  • CatAtonic99

Since practically every teenager has a social media account- If she doesn’t have one and is “willingly” LIVING somewhere, I’d be surprised.

  • CatAtonic99

On Zrjessop90 commented: “I can’t even begin to express how upsetting this is! I knew the Parsons
when I was younger. I played with the oldest growing up and every time I
was down there, Erica was treated like s**t. I may have only been in
middle school but I vaguely remember how awful they treated her! Every
time I went over there, She was sitting behind the Mom’s chair in the
living room on the floor. Every time I would ask if she was okay, I got a
evil glare upon me for even asking. The 2nd oldest brother would hit
her and say “It’s okay, She likes it” and hit her even harder. The
daughter would play with her but be completely unfair to her and push
and shove her off the bed. I remember seeing her cry and both would be
say she’s okay. I wish the worst on the Mom and Dad! I will never forget
how poorly she was treated in 2 years I lived down the street from
them. And I’m not surprised at the LEAST to hear that the parents are
not cooperating in the investigation. The way the treated her was not
how a child should have been treated. She was not loved in that house
what so ever! I can only imagine how she was treated after they moved. I
pray they find where she is if she is even alive. 2 f******g years!!!!
Once again, They never cared about her!!!!!!”

So sad what little Erica must’ve gone through. I imagine the kids were repeating the actions/treatment of her by the parents. I have to wonder if the brother who reported her missing was the 2nd oldest or a different one?

  • CatAtonic99

OMG…. This makes me sick. Someone mentioned a website where the Parsons sell Hedgehogs and other critters. On their site they mention the kind of love, time, attention, and money that animals require— Pffft. Says the people who likely murdered their adopted daughter!!home/mainPage

  • This story does not sound good at all.

  • FrikkenFrak

    This is just sad.

I KNOW I’m overprotective (I am…I know) but I wouldn’t let my kids spend the night at a friends house until I’d met the parents, got the address and got phone numbers.

    I don’t know if I’m…A. A good parent B. Hyper over-protective or C. A person who’s spent too much time on DD

  • FrikkenFrak

And a prosecutors sloppy work will also let criminals skate by

  • Peri Monday

Woah WOAH WOAH wait, did we all miss something ?

Was her SISTER reported missing in 2012 ? Is that what I just read ?^^ (At the bottom)

  • Peri Monday

It says at the bottom her adoptive sister went missing in 2012 or atleast a report was filed ?

  • Wildheart

Not to defend lawyers but, like it or not, the Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states: “In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy . . . . the assistance of counsel for his defense.” Also, the lawyer is most likely prevented from revealing any information given to him by his clients by his state’s Rules of Professional Conduct, by which he is bound. In Arizona, the rule states: “A lawyer shall not reveal information relating to the representation of a client unless the client gives informed consent…” Now if he does know what happened, in my opinion a good attorney should try very hard to get his clients to cooperate. If they refuse, there’s nothing he can do but give them the best defense possible…..which includes telling them to STFU.

Hate the so-called parents in this matter, but the defense attorney is simply a cog in the wheel of the justice system. He may actually be a very good man….or he may be an asshole….who knows? If I were in a bad legal situation, I know I would want the best defense lawyer possible. It can be a shitty job, but somebody’s got to do it. 🙂

  • Wildheart

    > 2012 – Missing-persons report filed for Erica’s adoptive sister, Brooke Parsons
That’s what it says…..very suspicious…..wonder if she was ever found?

    Interview with the parents:
It seems they considered her their niece before they adopted her…..her bio-mom is the adoptive dad’s sister-in-law, Carolyn Parsons….but the bio-dad is some guy named Billy Goodman.

  • FrikkenFrak

    You’re clearly correct.

However, this is why I couldn’t be a successful criminal defense attorney. If I knew, or suspected, my client was guilty, the best I would be able to do is see to it that they got a fair trial. I could not, in good conscience, present them as “not guilty” and hope I won and they got off.

  • OneToughMomma

Most definitely A!! For sure! I believe that you can never be too careful when it comes to the well being of children, especially your own!!

  • misssmartypants

Seems like these “parents” have a thing for giving girls in their care sneak peeks at Jesus.

  • misssmartypants

Oh and another thing…I read the statements the parents gave to the media. One was about how they tried going through facebook to see if she was on it, and she wasn’t. Liars. Every freakin kid I know does facebook.

  • Leasha

Yeah the “parents” definitely did something, possibly the brother, too. Pretty sure Erica is dead :/

  • Jerry Cook

This happened in the town I live Salisbury,NC,there is a video in the local online paper The Salisbury Post of these two, they act like nothing is wrong and are blaming the police for overreacting.Monday 8/12/13 they are scheduled to do the Dr.Phil show they are getting there 15 minutes.

  • Anosmia

Yeah, and if the brother who reported her missing is the same one who used to hit her, did he report Erica missing because as he got older he realized how wrong it was to treat his sister that way, or did he do it to punish his parents for throwing him out?

  • Anosmia

What a bizarre and sad case. I’m guessing either the parents killed her and concocted the story about her grandmother to cover their tracks or Erica really did go to Asheville to live with someone (clearly not her grandmother, since she died years ago) and that person was actually a trafficker.

  • CatAtonic99

It does make ya wonder. I mean, the parents blame the son for the “false allegations”, saying the son is just pissed and retaliating for them throwing him out after he hit his mother. Either way it sounds like Dysfunction Junction in that home.

  • CatAtonic99

When I did a Google image search for “Erica Parsons” there were a few girls that looked to be around 15 yrs old and had similar features and same name. I couldn’t figure out if any of them would’ve been her or not though :/

Also, on the Parson’s “kennel/pet” site it says they have 5 children- wonder if that is INCLUDING Erica or if they ‘wrote her off from their lives entirely’…

I’m curious what others’ thoughts are on this- giving the parents the benefit of the doubt (Erica willingly living with someone else, alive), wouldn’t you still consider/call the girl “your daughter” even under the circumstances of her not living with you for however long??

  • CatAtonic99

Good job diggin up info guys 🙂

  • CatAtonic99

It’d be interesting to see a result of a polygraph test. Hope Dr. Phil interviews the brother/stepbrother too.

  • CatAtonic99

I think this is the brother, James Parson, who reported her missing: Same name, lives in Salisbury, NC and was ‘Home schooled’. I think I’ll try to do a little more digging/questioning of my own. 🙂

  • CatAtonic99

Another brother? Also named Sandy? (It says his mother is Casey Parsons)

Another interesting tidbit from Julie Logan’s FB page She mentions having been engaged to Sandy’s brother, Lori? In any case, it sounds like it’ll be a grim outcome 🙁

Here’s some comments Julie made on her page in reference to Erica:

“Really hope it’s not what I think…….I love this lil girl always Tryed to
help her and hang out with her when I was with her brother……please
    pray everyone that she’s found

“Yea….I know exactly what he means when he said that…..I just hope it’s.not what me n him both think”

“that’s sandys Lil sister remember the one I would tell you about that I loved but didn’t like how she was treated there?”

“Yea she was as my Lil friend when I would go to his house I really hope she is safe but I know how things was so idk”

“I was engaged to there oldest son Lori and I know them all really good I wouldn’t doubt that his mom did something but never would have thought his Dad…….so idk”

“Me n him has been broken up for two years I saw her Right before we broke up that was the end of march early April”

  • CatAtonic99

So according to the timeline in the article it sounds like the couple have/had 6 kids INCLUDING Erica, correct? 3 bio, Erica, and then 2 more?

Seems odd that they’d only claim to have 5 kids on all of their websites, doesn’t it?

Investigators search home of missing teen Erica ParsonsN.C. —

Nearly a dozen local, state and federal investigators have been searching the home and the property of missing Rowan County teenager Erica Parsons all day Wednesday.

Parsons, 15, has been missing for nearly two years.

Eyewitness News was first alerted to the scene where police had the road near the home shut down around 11:15 a.m.

Chopper 9 immediately was dispatched to the scene on Miller Chapel Road
near Salisbury, where investigators could be seen loading evidence into
    a truck.

Investigators took pictures in and around the home of Parsons’ adoptive parents.

RAW: Police, SBI and FBI investigate home of missing 15-year-old

Police are stopping and turning drivers around if they don’t live on the street.

Authorities have not said specifically what they are searching for.

Eyewitness News obtained information from neighbors who live near the Parsons home.

neighbor said she saw some of the Parsons children at the home
Wednesday and was told by investigators that Sandy and Casey Parsons,
Erica’s parents, were also there. Eyewitness News asked the Rowan County
Sheriff’s Office about that and were just told that the Sheriff’s
Office has released all the information that’s appropriate at this time.

Neighbors said the scene on their street is almost surreal.

“One police officer showed up and next thing you know there was
probably 25 or 30 cars there,” said Jerry Fairbank. “They are going in
the house. They are walking around the house.”

    Investigators searching Erica Parsons’ home

“They started coming around to each of the houses and interviewing us.
We spoke with one of the deputies this morning and gave him our written
statement,” said Patti Miller, another neighbor.

    Eyewitness News
learned that the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office asked the National
Center for Missing and Exploited Children to create an age-progression
    photo of Erica.

On Wednesday afternoon, neighbors said they hope all of this leads to answers one way or another.

During the search on Wednesday, Eyewitness News went to the Rowan
County Courthouse twice to see if the search warrant had been returned.
So far nothing has been dropped off there, but Erica Parsons’ biological
    mother was leaving the building.

    Carolyn Parsons said in the
past that she did not want to talk until she had sat down with
investigators, but on Wednesday she would not even comment on that.

She has told Eyewitness News before that she loves her daughter and wants her found safe.IMAGES: Massive police search at home of missing teen Wednesday

On Wednesday, Eyewitness News also tried to talk to the attorney for Erica’s adoptive family.

Eyewitness News was told he was out at lunch and then gone for the day.

Deputies said James Parsons, Erica’s stepbrother, was the last known person to see her alive in November of 2011.

Warrant: JonBenet Ramsey magazines, red-stained walls at Parsons’ home

SALISBURY, N.C. — Erica Parsons was repeatedly verbally and physically abused by her adoptive mother before she disappeared, according to a warrant outlining probable cause for a search of the Parsons’ family home in Salisbury.

The warrant also reveals some surprising findings, including several red stains that are now being tested for blood. The stains were found on walls, on baseboards and the floor. Investigators took several swab samples.

Investigators also found two knives wrapped in shrink wrap.

In addition, they found an apparent fascination with the 1996 murder of JonBenet Ramsey in Boulder, Colorado, which remains unsolved to this day.

The warrant says notes about home remodeling were in the Ramsey book. They also found a plastic bag of magazines featuring JonBenet.

Investigators took the evidence in their attempt to find 15-year-old Erica Parsons. She has been missing from the family home for nearly two years. Her brother reported her missing two weeks ago, prompting the search. The family says the brother accused them of crimes they didn’t commit as payback for the brother getting kicked out of the house in June after a fight with his mother Casey Parsons.

“They’re just looking for anything that they can find that will help. We want to help any way we can to find Erica,” said Parsons family attorney Carlyle Sherrill.

In making their case for probable cause, investigators cite other relatives who accuse mom Casey Parsons of ongoing abuse.

According to the warrant after interviewing several family members:

    – Casey admitted to a relative she once lost control and beat Erica
    – Erica told other relatives that her parents hit her
    – Casey always blamed marks on Erica’s body on someone else in the house

“Take it for what it’s worth. Anything anybody says, they can stick in there to get probable cause. We don’t put any trust in it at all,” Sherrill said. “Casey Parsons and her husband are doing everything they possibly can to find Erica.”

The warrant also says investigators are getting the family’s bank statements.
The family says it kept government checks as Erica’s adoptive parents even after she was gone, because they are still her legal guardians, thought she was coming back and it kept her eligible for Medicaid.

Thursday, the FBI questioned the father, Sandy Parsons, for hours. He did not speak to the media after it was over.

New info on the Erica Parsons case:

“However, in a follow up episode to be aired at 4pm today, FBI polygraph examiner, Jack Trimarco, says Sandy Parsons was found to be ‘strongly deceptive’ on the polygraph test he agreed to undergo on the issue.
    He was asked two questions:
‘Did you deliberately cause Erica’s disappearance?’ and ‘Did you have a
plan to cause Erica’s disappearance?’ To which he answered: ‘No’.
The expert explained that he couldn’t ask about Erica’s death because they do not know she is dead.

‘He was what I consider strongly deceptive to both relevant questions,’
Trimarco tells Dr. Phil McGraw in the clip on the show’s website.
‘This was not a close call – it is quite clear.’

The Parsonses’ attorney, Carlyle Sherrill, who appears on the follow-up without his clients who refused to appear says Sandy Parsons may have misunderstood the question.
Trimarco decided not to carry out a test on Casey Parsons who said she was physically unwell
He said pain could interfere with psychological reactions which would make the test unreliable.
The show offered to allow Casey Parsons to take medication and return for the test the next day but she refused.

    Also from

“However, last week, investigators searching the Parsons’ home uncovered a treasure trove of evidence they think may answer some questions about the missing girl.
In affidavits filed to obtain search warrants for their Salisbury, North Carolina home, authorities alleged that they ‘routinely abused’ the girl before she went missing two years ago.
Officials found red stained drywall and baseboards that are being tested for the presence of blood, the documents said. Two large knives were also taken from the house, along with a book detailing the disappearance of JonBenet Ramsay which contained notes about home remodeling, the paper reported.
A plastic bag filled with a magazine about Ramsay was also removed, as well as laptops, cell phones and a desktop computer.

‘They’re just looking for anything they can find that’ll help,’ Sherrill told media outside his office at the time. ‘We want to help anyway we can to find Erica.’

A separate warrant was also issued to search the family’s financial records after it was discovered they continued to receive payments from the state for the girl’s care even
after she left. The Parsons told officials they collected the checks because they were tied to the teen’s health insurance, according to WSOC.

The warrants also detailed allegations of abuse made against the parents by family members. Relatives told investigators the missing girl was often covered in bruises.
When confronted, Casey would accuse other children of beating the innocent girl, they said.
They also allegedly forced the girl to live outside the home like a punished dog, the warrants said.

  • CatAtonic99

This all sounds very sketchy. Apparently teeth were found in one of the searches of the Parson’s property. From

“On Wednesday investigators searched a red wooden storage building at a home along the 200-block of Sutton Road in China Grove. The building is described as a “small, red colored one-story wood-frame structure with a shingled roof” behind the home. It has a single-door in the front, the search warrant states.

WBTV has learned that the storage building belongs to Erica’s adoptive father, Sandy Parsons.
Rowan County tax show the home and property have been owned by William and Janet Parsons, Sandy Parsons’ parents, since 1995.

According to the warrants, investigators seized a video tape, pieces of a vacuum cleaner, TEETH, a hammer and school records. This is the second property search that investigators have done since Erica was reported missing.

A search was done on August 16 along the 200-block of Miller Chapel Road, the home of Erica’s adoptive parents Casey and Sandy Parsons. During that search, investigators logged information about 68 items that they removed from the house. That list includes a “plastic bag with JonBenet Ramsey magazines” and a “JonBenet book with notes inside about remodeling house.”

The warrant says there was drywall cut and removed from a closet area with red stains. The section was tested for blood, the warrant states. Investigators also took baseboards from the closet with red stains.”

Her adoptive parents are now loading up a truck and moving

Parsons seen loading moving truck at Rowan Co. house

The adoptive parents of missing 15-year-old Erica Parsons packed a U-Haul truck Tuesday and drove more than 100 miles towards the Fort Bragg area.
Kathryn Burcham took a photo of a U-Haul truck parked in the driveway.

Burcham said the parents could be seen loading furniture into the truck from the house and from a shed in the back yard. A pickup truck that was also parked at the home had items loaded into the back as well.

Their attorney, Carlyle Sherrill said it was time for a break.

been a lot of publicity and they’ve gotten lots of leads so when they
get a lead they need to check it out and see if it’s going anywhere so
they are cooperating fully with that,” Sherrill said.

    The Rowan
County Sheriff’s Office released a statement late Tuesday stating
investigators were aware that Casey and Sandy Parsons were preparing to
move from their residence in Salisbury.

    “Investigators will
remain in contact with the Parsons and their attorney, as the
    investigation progresses,” the statement read.

Sherrill said he would not be surprised if they moved with the intense media attention surrounding them and their house.
tuesday marks the 29th day since Erica was reported missing.

Sandy Parsons: ‘Only thing I want right now is Erica to call home’

The adoptive father of missing teenager Erica Parsons says he is sorry for the way he has acted and hopes Erica will soon call to say that she is safe.
    […]In an exclusive talk
Erica’s adoptive father, Sandy Parson, talked about a number of topics
including his thoughts on Erica, death threats he and his wife have
received, and a tattoo he says few people know about.

Sandy and other family members were back in Salisbury on Wednesday,
loading up their belongings from their home as the family completes a
    move to Fayetteville.

Parsons says they are moving to get away from the constant media
attention. He says what he wants more than anything else is for Erica to
    call home.

“The only thing I want right now is Erica to call home, tell us she’s safe, and get my two babies,” Parsons

“Nobody realizes that there’s two small kids involved in this that do want to come home.”
The Parsons two youngest children were taken by the Department of Social
Services (DSS) when Erica was reported missing. During a custody
hearing last week, the Parsons were told those children wouldn’t be
    coming home.
“No judge in Rowan County will give me my kids back while this is going
on,” Parsons said. “And people riding by death threats, stuff like that,
it just brings out the weirdos.”

Parsons says he and his wife have been the target of harassment.
“They’re flipping me off, hollering. I’m getting weird phone calls. You
ought to hear some of the phone calls I got,” he said.”One at 1:30 in
the morning, some woman, creepy voice, telling me she wants to kill me.”

And Sandy Parsons says he’s convinced Erica Parsons is still alive, but afraid to call.
“There’s been sightings, I’ve had family members call me recently and
say there was a sighting at a rest stop,” he claims. “We asked, ‘why
didn’t you call the cops? Don’t wait and call us – call the cops!'”

And then there was the incident with the U-Haul from Tuesday.
Sandy Parsons pointed that truck directly at a group of reporters,
stopping inches from cameras and reporters. On Wednesday, he said he was
sorry saying his temper flared and that wasn’t his normal behavior.

    “I apologize,” […]
“I was just frustrated with the helicopters and I was getting phone
calls – when I was doing all that yesterday – from the cops saying
people were calling them, ringing the phone off the hook, saying you
    were running.”
Parsons also addressed several of the items taken by investigators in the last few weeks.
He explained that the two knives in cling wrap taken from his home
during a search earlier this month were his tools of the trade. Parsons
worked for years as a butcher at Food Lion in Spencer and says it would
not be unusual for a butcher to have wrapped knives.

Investigators also seized teeth from the Parsons home and from a work shed on property owned by the Parsons family.
“I had my baby boxes in there and they were tearing them apart, we saved the teeth for the tooth fairy,” Parsons said.

Parsons also showed a tattoo on his bicep that he says few people knew
that he had. It’s barbed wire with the initials of each child.

“My kids initials are tattooed on my arm in barb wire,” Parsons added.
“I got Erica dead center. I raised her and she wanted to go live with
grandmother and that was fine. And now she don’t want to come home,
    don’t want to call.”
Parsons also hinted that “the whole story” about Erica’s disappearance would eventually come out.

“Whether it comes out now or comes out when she’s an adult and floating
around and having a kid somewhere, but I don’t know,” Parsons said.
