make my dayNEW YORK, NY – A quick-thinking 10-year-old scared off two men during a home invasion by firing the gun one of the men dropped.

The two men showed up to the Brooklyn home Monday evening posing as Fedex delivery men. When two teenage sisters answered the door, the two men rushed in and forced the girls into the living room at gunpoint, instructing them to get on the floor.

When one of the men went to the second floor of the residence, the girls’ mother made a mad dash to 10-year-old son’s bedroom with the invader in hot pursuit. She managed to get in a bedroom and slam the door on the man’s hand, causing him him to drop his gun.

Her quick-thinking kid then picked up the man’s gun and fired a shot at him. The two men then fled the home, but not before taking a shot at the kid. No one was injured during the incident, and the men left empty-handed.

A neighbor said the family may have been targeted because they own a store and the home invaders, described as two black males in their ’20s, may have figured there was lots of cash inside. “Look, they have two brand-new BMWs in the driveway,” the neighbor said. “I don’t know, that’s kind of unusual for this neighborhood.”
