TOWN OF MAINE, NY — Ericka Pease faces a child endangering charge after her 5-year-old boy was, once again, found wandering the neighborhood for almost two hours Thursday evening.
If Pease looks familiar, it’s because we just featured her last week after being charged with the same thing. In this most recent incident, police were contacted by someone who who found the boy wandering on the roadside. When police arrived at the boy’s trailer, they found Ericka Pease outside on the phone trying to locate her son.
She told police she had been sleeping when her son got out of the house. The 26-year-old was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and released on an appearance ticket.
Two weeks ago, police were called to Pease’s trailer after receiving reports of her 5-year-old running around the trailer park in the middle of the night. When officers arrived, they found Pease’s son roaming the neighborhood with his dogs. They picked him up and took him back to his mother’s trailer.
Ericka Pease was arrested and transported to the Broome County Jail in that incident and charged with two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Child Protective Services were notified of the incident, and I’m sure they will be looking into Thursday’s incident as well.
It may be best for the kid if Child Protective Services places him in the custody of his dogs.Tags: Child Endangerment, Drugs, Ericka Pease, New York, trailer
