lootersMOORE, OK – Two men were arrested Tuesday night, accused of looting from a Moore neighborhood hit by the EF-5 tornado that killed at least 24 people..

A homeowner called police after returning to his home to find two men going through the rubble of his house. When he asked what the hell they were doing, they stated they were searching for survivors. Unfortunately, they weren’t talking about human beings trapped underneath debris, they were talking about valuable items not destroyed by the tornado.

According to the homeowner who found the men in his house, he found some of his belongings in the suspects’ pockets. When police arrived at the scene, they found the men with a bag full of items the two had reportedly stolen from destroyed homes in the neighborhood.

Police have not identified the suspects at this time, much to many people’s dismay, but the video below shows both of them being arrested and sparked a long series of racists comments regarding their ethnicity. To combat the looting issue, the Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner is working on a badge system that will issue badges to residents that allow them to enter neighborhoods damaged by the tornado.

That’s a good first step, I guess, but I find the “You Loot, I’ll Shoot” policy to be much more effective. It takes a special kind of person to steal from people who have just lost everything. Hopefully, if anyone is found guilty of looting from the people in Moore, they will get the maximum punishment allowable.

This happened here in Joplin after the tornado. People are such heartless assholes. They also tried to implement permits for people to be driving in the disaster zone (we were three blocks away and would have needed one), but cancelled it because it was too hard to get the word out to people with no power. And there were not enough people to run it. People that loot after natural disasters need to be punished to the highest extent. I also recommend branding their foreheads as they have no souls to steal from these people.

  • Pieces of shit!

  • What a damn shame…. Get a fucking job.

Yes punished to the highest extent….Impaling on sticks around the disaster area is a acceptable start.

  • kimbev69

i agree i would love to see assholes impaled..sounds like fun

  • Get a Rope!!!

  • What lowlife scumbags!!!!! These people have lost everything and they do this?!!!

From “they stated they were searching for survivors. Unfortunately, they weren’t talking about human beings” to “‘You Loot, I’ll Shoot’ policy” Morbid fuckin nailed this one.

  • lowest of the low.

  • Sad! This is where I want to hear that Toby Keith puts a boot in their ass

  • Some cultures believe lopping off thieves’ hands is a good deterrent. I concur.

  • Jycorro

Down here on the Gulf Coast they were stealing air conditioners and every thing else not tied down after hurricanes. We have a strict you loot we shoot policy in our neighborhood.

  • newstarshipsmell

Too bad they can’t be volunteered for a government study on “The Effects Of Tornado-Strength Winds Saturated With Debris Upon The Human Body.”

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

A public whipping might be a fun start to punishing the looters. They should also be forced to help rebuild the houses.

  • Buffettgirl

Wow – just, seriously, wow… I hope these two, and anyone else EVER caught doing the same sort of shit to people devastated by disaster are placed in a stockade on the Mall in Washington D.C. for all the world to mock, jeer, taunt and most especially throw rotten fruit at!

  • Wolf_of_Mars

    You go, Vlad!
Target practice might be the more socially acceptable move, though. But, then again, I’m not a person that is always socially acceptable… Carry on!

  • Wildheart

I really like the branding idea!

  • these POS need to be exterminated
my daughter was there at her house a block from the school that killed those kids

She said army and FBI were there but you didnt see alot of them because they had a huge area to cover
they have already lost everything and assholes want to take what little they may have left

Small time shit… Anyone remember the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake in San Francisco that caused the upper level of the Embarcadero Freeway to collapse onto the also elevated lower level? MANY MANY people on the lower level were killed suddenly with the collapse (a young boy was rescued by having his mother’s body in the passenger seat in front of him cut in half – his sister and father also died). Rescuers had trouble getting to the potential survivors and many that may have lived with quick care didn’t. The city had trouble identifying so many of the victims because thieves got there first… now that is soulless if you want a good example of horrifying greed.

  • JohnQknowitall

Don’t worry… they will no doubt get that extra personal impaling that all male prisons offer as standard.

  • Heather_Habilatory

I said this on my fb, and I’m saying it here: Charge them with treason, and when they’re found guilty, hang em in DC. I hate thieves in the first place… but to steal from people who have already lost everything, including loved ones…. that’s fucking bullshit. I’d gladly provide the rope, lumber, and manpower to build the platform.

  • Heather_Habilatory

AHHHHH. I see we have kind of the same idea!

  • Heather_Habilatory

I remember that and I was only six. It was the first earthquake I’d ever heard about, and seeing that freeway collapse scared the shit out of me.
I didn’t know this piece of info… That is fucked up.

  • Heather_Habilatory

I’m so glad your loved ones are safe, Whisper. That was a very tense day waiting for the news.

  • disturbedperson

If these morons have the cojones to loot in an area struck by a natural disaster, we should reward them with a new home. New digs in either tornado alley or along the coast. Maybe in earthquake territory. Build them a new home with a steel door, barred windows & no attic stairs or basement….their own private, inescapable prison. Let them face what Joplin, Moore, and far too many other places have faced…knowing they cannot escape.

Their mothers must be so proud to see their special little snowflakes faces all over the news.

It was the Oakland Bay Bridge that gave me the willies. It was the year I graduated from high school and I took my first adult vacation to San Francisco. I remember seeing the Embarcadero Freeway before it was dismantled. I remembered my stomach turned and I could not figure out how rescuers and body reconnaissance workers and body removers were able to do their jobs, but do their jobs they did. That night I was on the public transportation. There was a sizable tremor. The car stopped and everything went black and a woman started crying AND someone else told his female companion to hold on to her purse.

I too remember the earthquake. I live in Central Cali and my mom and I felt it. I didn’t know about the thievery until years later though. When I did hear of it, just as when I heard about it after the hurricanes and now today, I got physically ill. To think that people have just gone through such a terrible traumatic event, just to have something like this take place soon after really shows how horrible some people can be. It takes a special kind of douschery for this kind of behavior. Sickening, absolutely sickening. :/

  • JohnQknowitall

It is sad, just plain and simple sad. I do have to say this: stealing is justified, imho, only as a last resort for the basic things: food/water, medical attention, shelter and clothing during difficult weather…. and possibly other things immediately necessary to maintain life. Theft for greed or recreational need is NEVER NEVER NEVER justified. You pay for your porn and I will pay for my video games… neither of us needs those things and we shouldn’t steal from each other to get them.

  • Flo Robison

anyone have an update on this? Do we have names yet? My biggest question that the press doesn’t seem to be able to report nowadays or else the King will have you audited… were they illegal?

  • FrikkenFrak

Filthy fuckers. There’s a special place in hell for those who violate the despairing.

I can relate to this story. Our house burned down in February. And some fuckers broke into the condemned and boarded up house and looted what little valuables that were still there and salvageable.

Whatever else could have been saved went under with a bulldozer.

  • they havent released names yet Ive been looking and my daughters bee asking friends still in OK

  • captaingrumpy

If they break the law entering the country , then breaking more laws come easy. Especially if the Law doesn’t oppose you.

  • restlessvagabond

By what you posted I’m going to assume you think these guys are illegal immigrants based on the color of their skin.

Congratulations on the racism. Must make your parents proud.

  • Heather_Habilatory

Pretty sure news reports people being here illegally all the time. So take your assholeness about that shit elsewhere, thanks.

  • Heather_Habilatory

Oh, Frak. My heart goes out to you and yours. How are you all doing now?

  • Police Arrest Two Men Who Were Allegedly Looting From Homes In Moore, Oklahoma

  • Flo Robison

wtfe, I have a working theory that the press will NOT report it because of the politics going on around the immigration reform… its not about being an asshole, its about hearing the truth that illegal immigrants aren’t all these “poor struggling innocent people just trying to get along in life. “

  • captaingrumpy

Your the one that brought uip the color of their skin , YOUR the racist.
I thought they were on holiday from Sweden.

  • Heather_Habilatory

“its not about being an asshole, its about hearing the truth that
illegal immigrants aren’t all these “poor struggling innocent people
just trying to get along in life. “”

Pretty sure that’s every group of people everywhere. Some suck, some don’t. Get over it.

  • Wolf_of_Mars

Public humiliation is a true deterrent to crime.

  • Wolf_of_Mars

When I was in S, Fla, after a couple of hurricanes, looters tried to steal my generators & fuel on two separate occasions. Needless to say, neither group enjoyed having two pistols pointed at the the bases of their skulls…

  • Flo Robison

no, I refuse to “get over it” that kind of attitude is what’s wrong with this country… My elected officials should be thinking of what’s best for this place rather than themselves and having their “pets” report lies and non-news to the people of this country to further a political agenda. I also refuse to pay for them to be here if they’re LOOTING our citizens and turning around and stealing financial aid. If you bothered to read my comment you’d have seen that its the LIES im bitching about. Sheep.

  • Moore police: Nearly a dozen arrested for looting

MOORE, Okla. —In Moore, it’s become the all too familiar sight, piles of debris and what’s left to be piled. Signs of progress exist, but tensions are running high. Since Friday, police have arrested nearly a dozen for looting.

Saturday brought the end of mandatory curfews and hundreds more volunteers into the city doing whatever they could in a near-citywide cleanup.
