Amy Locane-BovenizerSOMERVILLE, N.J. – Amy Locane-Bovenizer, a former actress on Melrose Place, has been sentenced to three years in prison after driving drunk and plowing her SUV into another car, killing a woman.

For those who don’t know who hell this lady is, she played a character on Melrose Place, one of the worst shows to come out of the ’90s aside from Home Improvement. I have no clue what she did after the show was finally cancelled, but in 2010 she made headlines after getting behind the wheel of an SUV with a blood alcohol level that was three times past the legal limit.

After rear-ending Maureen Ruckelshaus, Locane-Bovenizer refused to get out of her car and fled the scene. Ruckelshaus followed Locane-Bovenizer for four mile, watching as the 40-year-old took out a few mailboxes. When a car moved out from in front of Locane-Bovenizer, she accelerated to 50 mph and plowed into the passenger side of a car turning into a driveway.

The driver of that car, Fred Seeman, was seriously injured but survived. His wife, 60-year-old Helene Seeman, was his passenger and took the brunt of the impact. She was not so lucky and would be pronounced dead at the scene. As for Locane-Bovenizer, she was seriously injured and only suffered a scratch on her foot.

Witnesses testified that while Mr Seeman was watching his wife die, Locane-Bovenizer was giggling in a nearby drainage ditch. One officer testified that after they had taken a blood sample from the actress, she said, “Am I pregnant or am I just drunk?” Hours later, Locane-Bovenizer would urinate in her hospital bed and ramble incoherently — seemingly unaware of what she had done.

Brian Kittenger Charged After Wife Walked Eight Miles Naked Following Assault

In 2012, a jury didn’t feel there was enough evidence to convict Locane-Bovenizer on manslaughter charges, but they did find her guilty of the lesser charge of vehicular manslaughter and assault by automobile. She was looking at possible 10 year prison sentence.

But yesterday a judge cited the hardship on Locane-Bovenizer’s two children, one of whom has a medical disability and the other a mental disability, when he lowered the maximum sentence to just three years. Locane-Bovenizer broke down in tears as the sentence was read, while Seeman’s husband yelled, “What a travesty!” at the judge before he and his son stormed out of the courtroom.

Of course. Her kids would be better off being raised by someone responsible.

    I hate drunk drivers.

  • come_and_see

As usual Hollywood stands up and protects these people. What a crock of shit.

If that was my mom or dad that died PULLING INTO THEIR DRIVEWAY I would of killed her myself. The only hard part would be selecting the proper caliber weapon from my arsenal.

  • To be fair, this was New Jersey. Had it been Hollywood, she would have gotten an award and a key to the city.

  • lespacino

“What a travesty” indeed. It must be nice to be a celebrity- even a washed up one- and get nearly no punishment for heinous crimes. Drunk drivers who kill are no better than any other murderer. This kind of thing makes me hate our “justice” system.

  • newstarshipsmell

    Or a TV show.

  • JohnQknowitall

Shit like this is like a domino effect on human beings. This woman is guilty and so many other pay a sentence for her crime. What she did was senseless damage to other peoples’ lives. Personally I think 3 years is a hell of a fucking long time to be in a prison, but given the possible outcome did her husband really think his wife would serve no time? I guess anything is possible when you are delusional.

  • wasn’t it the victims husband and son Who stormed out?

  • lespacino

Yes, it was. And, that is why they said it was a travesty. Who gives a rat’s what her own family thinks about it?

  • newstarshipsmell

I’m crossing my fingers and hoping she ends up in porn once she’s released. I would totally torrent that shit and jerk off to her failure.

  • onlyme356

How dare you call Melrose Place one of the worst shows of the 90’s, I loved that show! Heather Locklear was a BADASS.

  • G.I.R.L.

Tell me about it. My mother went drunk driving last week. When i found out i immediately left in pursuit. The liquor store even provided her with more alcohol when she was VISIBLY drunk.

  • G.I.R.L.

Aside from her, that show sucked. Mostly because my mother used to make us stop watching tv and go to sleep so she could watch that horrendous program.

  • newstarshipsmell

We’re all entitled to our guilty pleasures.

  • Yes I agree, just read the above comment and was wondering Where does it mention bovenizers husband, Lol think it was a misunderstanding by the commenter:p

the whole “kids have disabilities” thing kinda puts a little twist on it

If you want to kill someone and get away with it, use your car. That was a statement from a Philly police lieutenant after saying how the solve rate of hit and runs is less then 10%. Also, when a person is caught they only get a few years tops.

A drunk driver caused an accident on I 95 that caused my car to flip and I went through the windshield and was found 40 ft. Thank god there were witnesses who stopped and blocked me off with their cars so nobody would run me over and helped til the paramedics got there. I was in a coma for six days, and was in the hospital for over a month.

Two years later I still have chronic pain because of nerve damage in my spine. The driver was .31 BAC nearly two hours after the accident. He received no jail time because the lead investigator (PA state police lead DUI expert) was forced into rehab for being a ::gasp:: alcoholic. Day he got out he went the wrong way on the highway and killed a girl. He was drunk. All his cases were thrown out or just let to expire.

“….a judge cited the hardship on Locane-Bovenizer’s two children…”

Really? What kind of perverse logic is this? Seems to me the kids were already suffering hardships with Mumsy driving around drunk. If she really cared about her kids, she wouldn’t be drinking and driving.

Which brings me to the victims. So, Mr. Seeman and his son haven’t suffered any hardships? Or is it Mr. Seeman’s hardships are insignificant compared to 2 kids with mental and medical disabilities?

Way to go Judge. Let’s make Amy less accountable or responsible for her actions because of her kids.

  • techsupp0rt

Hardship? On children, what’s the difference between leaving them for 3 years and leaving them for 10? You can be sure that after those 3 years are up, it’s not going to be this loser that they need any more. She should have received the full sentence.

  • I’m wondering if her kids’ handicaps stem from their mother’s alcohol abuse problems…..stupid bitch.

  • deadskinmask213

From the sound of it she didn’t stop drinking through both pregnancies this judge is a fucking idiot.

  • Athena

This is the problem with drunk driving sentencing. A person who drives over the legal limit and just so happens to get pulled over due to a bad tail light or tabs or failing to use a blinker (as opposed to reckless driving or suspicion of DUI) can get a year of incarceration in some areas. Someone who kills someone generally gets less than four… and doesn’t even serve all of it (I’ll be shocked if this woman serves more than a year and a half).

Victimless crimes (like the first mentioned) should be responded to with treatment-based sentencing and hefty fines, saving room in prison for fuckups like this (who should face MUCH higher sentences).

  • lespacino

    What twist is that?

  • Patr1ckBateman

How the fuck can you kill someone and only get 3 years?

  • LuvsHorror

That’s why I think drunk driving and killing someone should get the same as murder 1.

  • LuvsHorror

She is probably the reason for her kids mental and medical problems.

  • FrikkenFrak

  • Sean Cudahy

    Unreal. Fuck you judge.

  • Minerva

Yet someone with a few grams of crack or cocaine gets mandatory 10 years. Also some marijuana sentences carry a much higher or equal punishment.

Killing someone .vs. drugs… War on drugs is a failure and maybe if we treated it as a disease and a public health issue we would save money and save lives. Portugal decriminalized drug use (not made it legal, but instead of throwing them in jails, you get treatment). So far they have cut drug use in half and crime has dropped also.

Treating the issue instead of throwing people in jail is a better solution because when they get out now they are a drug addict (or alcoholic) who has learned how to be a better criminal with a record and little to no resources. Hm, I wonder what’s going to happen…

  • LeaveMeBe

What about Helene Seemen’s family? The judge doesn’t think her family needed their wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend? Stupid fucking judge. Hope karma kicks him swiftly and soundly and tattoos it on his forehead.

  • LeaveMeBe

Not. Why would kids with disabilities need their parent any more than kids without disabilities? And truth be told, as bad as I feel for her kids, it was her choice to drive drunk and if she cares so little for her children then I don’t think the judge had any place making them more important than they obviously were to her.

    Be a drunk Z-list celebrity?

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

Her kids have disabilities, so they deserve responsible caregivers who can help them be successful as possible. They do not need their selfish cunt of an egg donor. This judge is a moron.

  • she’sfrom crybaby with Johnny Depp. God she looks awful
