Woman Says She Stabbed Husband To Death Because She Caught Him Looking At PornographyDelaware County, PA – Maria Rey Garcia-Pellon, the wife of a former University of Pennsylvania basketball star Matthew White, has been charged with stabbing her husband to death in bed because she says she caught him looking at child porn, according to court records.

Matthew White, 53, was asleep in his bed sometime around midnight Monday when his wife, Maria Rey Garcia-Pellon, began stabbing him in the neck with a knife. White reportedly woke up during the attack and tried to fight off his wife, yelling  ”I’m dying, I’m dying!” before collapsing on the bed.

Afterwards, Garcia-Pellon changed clothes and went to a neighbor’s home after placing a bloody, rambling note inside another neighbor’s mailbox. There Garcia-Pellon told the neighbor she had killed her husband because she caught him looking at child pornography. After 911 was called and police arrived, Garcia Pellon reportedly told investigators, “I caught him looking at pornography, young girls, I love kids. I had to do it.”

I had no idea who White was, as I don’t know shit about sports, but in 1979 he was the starting center when Penn made it to the Final Four of the NCAA basketball championship and still holds the school record for field goal percentage among players with a minimum of 250 made field goa… Zzzzzzz… (*snaps awake after head hits keyboard*)

Maria Rey Garcia-Pellon is currently being held without bail in Delaware County Jail, charged with first degree murder, criminal homicide and possession of an instrument of crime. Her preliminary court hearing is scheduled for Feb. 18. However, according to District Attorney Jack Whelan, Garcia-Pellon’s definition of child porn may not be the actual definition of child porn.

“We don’t know exactly what he was looking at or what she was referring to but when the wife spoke of young girls, we believe she was talking about girls above the age of 18 and perhaps in their early 20s,” Whelan said. “We have one of the best forensic teams and they will analyze his computer, which we have in our possession.”

Friends who knew the couple say they saw no signs of trouble between the couple and that they were regulars at Penn basketball games and alumni events. “She is a very, very peaceful person,” one friend said of Garcia-Pelloon. “In the 25 years I have known her, rage is the absolute last adjective I would use to describe her.”

White was a regular in area adult basketball leagues and at the Penn alumni game until he suffered a stroke in December 2009. Friends and family say since then, White had made a 75% recovery.

      I “get” that catching your husband looking at porn (incessantly, sneakily) can bring you to rage – and if it’s images of kids – possibly a “murderous rage” —- but she waited………… until he was asleep. Plenty of time to calm down, assess the situation and call the cops.

      I think women hating porn in a relationship is the most insecure, short-sighted, self-defeating thing. I’ve also experienced a correlation between women who hate porn and women who lash out physically at their man. Angry, angry people, those porn-haters are.

      Waiting until he was asleep sounds like ‘The Burning Bed’ or Lorena Bobbitt. The story doesn’t say there was a history of abuse or anything like that. I don’t get people looking at child pornography. If I found my husband looking at child pornography, his ass would be out so fast, I wouldn’t have time to stab him, cut off his penis or burn the bed. Now, he has a thing about adult pornography, which kinda bugs me but I let it go. He thinks he’s being so sneaky, but I just delete the history on the computer and forget about it. I mean, I’d rather he looked at pornography than cheat on me or sit in a strip club all night.
      This woman is a certifiable whackjob, and I guarantee that she’s got papers osmewhere to prove it.

      If you read the article a little closer, Morbid purports that these young girls were over the age of 18. Child porn? Comparatively speaking perhaps since his old lady looks 80. But LEGALLY, 18 is fair game.

      I don’t get the insecurities of some woman who flip about their men watching or looking at porn. As long as it involves legal adults …hell watch with them and then have some fun.       First – for whatever reason, the woman in question obviously had an issue with it. Porn can be a healthy *addition* to a relationship – but should never be a *substitute* for one. I’m wondering if this interest in porn came about after his stroke? (no pun intended) Perhaps he couldn’t perform too well but still needed a release? The question in my mind is was she mad about the porn – or the images she *thought* were underage girls? Regardless – stabbing him while he slept was over the top and wrong.

      As for women being insecure because their men look at porn – A “healthy” interest in porn is one thing but there are reasons that a man looking at porn could cause a woman to become insecure.

      1. If the woman is ready, willing and able to please her man in any and every way possible – and he still *chooses* to jack off to porn instead. That’ll knock a girls self-esteem down a bit.

      2. If a man and a woman have watched porn together for years – but suddenly he switches screens as soon as she walks in the room. If there’s nothing wrong with what you’re viewing – why hide it?

      3. If a man’s performance in bed suddenly becomes *like* a (bad) porn. He gets rough and selfish about sex because he’s mimicking what he’s watching.

      4. Escalation. “Normal” porn isn’t enough anymore. He seeks out more ‘risque’ pictures or videos in order to achieve his goal. And if his woman isn’t willing to act out the more risque fantasies – he seeks out someone who will – even if he has to pay her to do so.

      Not all men can separate fantasy from reality when it comes to sex. Some believe that what they see on the screen is how it’s “supposed” to be – and if their woman isn’t willing to be their “slutty porn star”, they’ll go seeking a woman who will (secretly – which then could open a whole ‘nuther can of worms)
      Boys hide their porn watching from their mothers (thankfully and understandably) – but a husband shouldn’t hide it from his wife. If a husband goes from watching together with his wife, to watching in secret – that’s the best way for a woman to become suspicious and “insecure” I can think of.

      FYI – I enjoy porn. I worked in a “Novelty Store” which gave me access to all kinds of freebies (movie rentals; toy promotions) But if my man suddenly decides to shut down his screen when I walk into a room… or neglect me sexually in favor of perusing porn on the net – I’m gonna have a problem with it. But I’m not gonna get all “stabby” on his ass while he’s sleeping.
