CarrieCYPRESS, TX – The title alone evokes images straight out of a horror movie, but that’s exactly what some people said about a teenager who walked half a mile for help after being brutally raped and beaten.

Police say Tuesday night at around 11 pm, a 16-year-old girl walked out of her home after getting into a fight with a relative.

As she made her way past Cypress Woods High School, a man walked up behind her and dragged her to a nearby field. There the man beat her in the head and face with a blunt object before raping her.

Throughout the entire ordeal, the girl played dead. “She doesn’t move, she doesn’t flinch and he does not say a word to her. He stands over her making sure that she was dead,” said Harris County Deputy Armando Tamez.

After the man left, the girl got up and stumbled a half mile to a Cinemark movie theater looking for help. She was covered in so much blood that witnesses thought the naked girl was wearing a red dress.

A security guard at the theater called 911, and the girl was airlifted to Memorial Hermann and is currently listed in critical but stable condition.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s about 5-feet-10-inches tall with a muscular build and light colored eyes. Tamez says this guy is a nasty piece of work and from the damage done to the victim, he intended to kill her.

“This guy, there was absolutely no doubt in my mind. He did a real number on this girl,” he said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the sheriff’s office at 713-755-6044 or call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

    the carrie picture….gives one pause!!!!!!

  • Sam

Jaysus. That’s a remarkably together girl to be able to just lie there and pretend to be dead while that animal did goodness knows what to her. Not knowing whether he was going to slice her neck open next or something, to make sure she was dead. Forcing herself to lie still whilst unprecedented levels of adrenaline and fear were coursing through her veins. I can only hope that that’s a sign of the fighter she is and that she’ll recover.

  • creamofflicka

Wellp! This one got me,.. DD, score one for you. I’ll have to get busy now. GPS Chip my kids. Reload all the ammo. Buy switch blades for my girls. I’ll have to take a break from you guys until the paranoia subsides. The kid snatching stories always give me a mild case of the paranoia.

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

I’ll bet that the relative with whom she was fighting before she stormed out of the house feels utterly wretched now.

  • Andyman

Yeah I bet that too – that was the first thing I thought when it mentioned how she came to be outside and this happening to her. 15/16 has to be the toughest time of a kid’s life; you’re not an adult and you’re not a child yet most kids this age think they are adults. As Sam said, this is one tough kid to play dead after such an ordeal. I hope they fry this fucker.

  • TheAlphaSoup

I was in a Bio lecture of some 300 students and I almost bust out crying. At that point the only thing I read was the title. Now that I’m done with class, I’ve gone back and read through the whole article….

  • Gee

This is just brutal and every girls nightmare. This poor girl. I hope hope she can recover from such a traumatizing experience.

  • kimbev69

oh my god how scary is that…just some random chance meeting between two people, i mean he was obviously waiting to find someone vulnerable…how sad poor girl and to be so strong as to just lie there after and let him think she was dead…i wonder if anyone saw her on her walk and thought nothing of helping her…

  • Evan Oswald

this is awful. terrible. With that being said, head wounds can bleed like nobody’s business.

  • brandi

oooooo shit! i live in cypress not too far from where this happend… i heard about this on click2houston, people actually had the nerve to say “she shouldn’t have been out late” and “I bet she knew who her attacker was” like blaming her… poor girl. makes me sick

  • http://twitter.com/awholenewday natashaleigh

Sick motherfucker. To think too that he is probably home with his family, watching a movie or going about his day like nothing happened. No one around him any the wiser. Disgusting.

  • tkaz

This frigging brought tears to my eyes.
The control she had is astounding, unfortunately my mind goes to the idea of that she’s grown up in a way where flight was necessary & she knows all too well how to go within herself. I hope not, I hope she’s just really good at surviving.
But she noticed his eyes, she was present enough to see his eyes.

  • tkaz

Dude, kid snatching stories are what my nightmares are made of. And kudos on the switch blades, I envisioned them all Jackie Brown-like with razor blades in the hair & switch blades in the hand asking if they really want to rumble. I like that I can find some humor after reading this stuff.

  • tkaz

Except, her blood HAS to be on his clothes. Here’s hoping he didn’t burn them…

  • tkaz

Sometimes I think a certain type of person needs to justify the evil in the world. Like, this could never happen to me – I’d never be out so late!
I bet she didn’t plan on it either….

  • tkaz

This is so true, maybe her wounds to her face/head are not horrible & she can heal easily.

  • sweekymom

Whoever did this should be caught and sent to the worst prison Texas has to offer. And, with luck, the system will do the rest…

  • Buffettgirl

Kudos on the switch blades for your girls! I’m a little old to be just starting to learn how to really use one, but it’s kind of kick ass that I can now. It’s empowering to know you CAN protect yourself with the right moves and your knife.

  • brandi

like if their kid got mad at them and walked out there would be alot they could do! yea right! i mean walking the street after dark in houston isn’t safe, but where exactly is it safe unless you live in mayberry? cypress is a better suburb of houston, not only that, there was a baseball game at the cy-woods high school that night, i mean there was plenty of things she could’ve been doing before she was initially attacked. I hate when people are quick to do that, like you said, it could NEVER happen to them or their baby.

  • Buffettgirl

I’m thinking the worst prison Yemen has to offer…

  • brandi

we’ll probably kill him, thats how we do it in texas!

  • Buffettgirl

One of my favorite things about Texas is the Express Lane ya’ll have on Death Row!

  • Buffettgirl

Being a Carrie, I really, really HATE that picture. That being said, it is the most accurate picture out there to describe the horror this poor child endured. Damn I hope that one day we can figure out what makes this acceptable to do in someone’s mind…

  • tkaz

Exactly. I don’t care how safe your neighborhood is – use a Buddy System!! When my daughter needs me to pick her up & she may be alone for some reason I tell her to go to the library (public library on school property). Stay surrounded!!!
In fact, sometimes I worry the little rich kids in our area think they can do anything they want – at times I find them more of a threat than an inner-city encounter.

  • brandi

yeppers! highest kill rate in the country!

  • brandi

yes stay around folks, where someone can hear you scream! The rich one’s are the worst, they think everything is at their disposal… even humans…

  • brandi

I knew it was coming! i was gonna say something, but was like, uhhhh do you wanna get cyber stabbed today Brandi?

  • tkaz

OMG. Totally off the subject of rape & murder but my daughters classmates told her if she wanted a new phone to just drop hers in the pool. As if, “oops!” Luckily, she knows better. We have always given her hand me downs so they were typically pretty ugly & she knew if that one died she have a brick phone …it was our only spare.
But this is the mentality – break what you have & Mommy & Daddy will buy you a new one.

  • Buffettgirl

No stabby thoughts today… yet! ;-)

  • brandi

REALLY!!?? what a silver spoon little brat… I never even had a cell phone when i was their age (they came out like a year after i turned 6), and if something happened to a toy or anything, we just didn’t have it any more. That’s how you learned to take care of what you have!

  • tkaz

They’re all like that. Well, the majority. We’re pretty “old school”. We give gifts on holidays/birthdays, if you want something you wait. If it breaks you’re SOL b/c probably you’re the reason it broke. Save your money & buy a new one yourself.
Her friends actually don’t “get” why she doesn’t wear name brand or already have a car (can’t get a DL for another 2 yrs). It’s crazy!
One reason I want to leave. The entitlement is absolutely insane.

  • brandi

the more she hangs out with kids like that, the more she will ask for things like this, nip that shit! Old school, yea, i might as well be a grandma, the way kids see me now a days. I did have a 18 yo hit on me the other day (off subject as well) i felt AMAZING! to say the very least.

  • newstarshipsmell

I hope they don’t fry him, since wouldn’t that necessitate her succumbing to her injuries while in the hospital? I hope she makes a full recovery and either a) they catch this guy and put him away for a long time, or (preferably) b) he picks the wrong victim next time and spares the taxpayers a trial.

  • JohnQknowitall

Fucking monster. I hope the guilty party gets his in prison. This is as horrible as any one of Ted Bundy’s murders.

  • MelCervini

Something about this doesn’t smell right.. like maybe the ‘stranger’ part is being made up to cover for an out of control relative that she was JUST fighting with?

  • Andyman

Why would frying him have anything to do with her recovery exactly?

  • Wolf_of_Mars

I was raised by my g-parents. Even though they were well off, it didn’t mean that I could just destroy things, or people. If I wiped out a personal item, I had to replace it myself. If I were to treat someone badly, I paid for that in a MOST painful fashion.
I like the result of my “Old School” upbringing.

  • Sam

They couldn’t give him the death penalty unless he actually killed her.

  • Athena

…as well as the highest rate of suspected wrongful executions in the nation. There’s nothing awesome about it… unless your down with the state murdering innocent people, that is.

  • sweekymom

    I like what you’re thinking.

  • brandi

No, why would I be ok with wrongful accusations that led to innocent people’s death? What I like about it, is if you kill someone, we kill you back! We don’t “waste” tax payers money and feed some criminal for years and years.. I can’t do anything about accussing innocent people, but I still don’t believe i would have it any other way. Other states wrongfully accuse all the time, ever heard of the west memphis 3? those men sat in jail for 18 something odd years, from the time they were teenagers (15), till they were grown men, and still had to plead guilty just to get out of prison. Do you think these men will ever have a life? they can’t even get a job, house, car, credit, because they have a murder that they never committed under their belt.

  • G.I.R.L.

I’m beginning to see the two type of users here: rational and idunnowhat.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Anna-Hall-Grillot/100000054600337 Anna Hall Grillot

My daughter will be 9 this month, and I don’t let her leave “the circle” (we are in a culdesac) and she gets escorted to and from the bus stop, and I tell her to stay away from people, never be alone with any teachers, and her elbows, knees, head and jaw are her strongest parts and to elbow, head-butt and bite people in the crotch, or face, and to scream bloody murder if anyone approaches her… Worries me to death…

  • Athena

I’m sure the Memphis 3 prefer their fate over being executed. They still have a chance. Cameron Todd Willingham doesn’t. Neither does Carlos DeLuna, or David Spence. I could go on.

There’s a distinct difference between “wrongfully accuse” and “wrongfully execute“. Texas’ fast-track for executions is one of the worst things to ever happen to the State of Texas and the nation’s criminal justice system in general.

Oh, and you don’t think this wastes tax payer money? A death penalty case in Texas costs an average of $2.3 million. That’s roughly three times the cost of housing an inmate for 40 years in maximum security.

  • Heather4877

Unfortunately, I don’t think buttholes bleed like head wounds…

  • JGo555

I hope they find him and he dies in the most painful way & the last words he hears are: “THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU RAPE A GIRL & TRY TO KILL HER. I’ll see you in hell, to repeat this.”

  • GGMon

I agree with Sam, this girl must be a fighter. She literally went into survivor mode despite what the sick bastard did to her. I really hope they find the asshole who did this. Poor girl.

Deja Vu This reminds me of another a little older 18 year old teen that was dropping off her books to the Brandon Library in Florida some years ago then got attacked by a teen boy leaving her a vegetable for life. This teen had just graduated from high school getting excited to start college. Let’s say our prayers this remarkable with a strong will to live teen girl in ICU will be able to recover 100%.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1616336316 Mary Mahi Mahi

One more thing please everyone tell your teen especially a girl to DON’T wander around alone after dark even if after a family fight at home it’s not safe. Why risk your life just go in your room to cool off please.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1616336316 Mary Mahi Mahi

There must be a special place in H-E-L-L for this coward this evil man let’s hope he is found so justice will be served most likely at the hands of a fellow inmate.

  • Heather_Habilatory

It used to be safe here just a few years ago. I used to walk by myself at 3 AM all the time. Never once did I worry.

    That has changed.

  • techsupp0rt

I bet whatever relative she got in a fight with feels like a real hotshot, now.

  • JohnQknowitall

Athena see the recent documentary in theaters now: West of Memphis. Horrifying.

  • http://twitter.com/PhreakLab PhreakLab

That is amazing really. Wow. I’m not sure what else to say.

  • LeaveMeBe

My daughter carried a tool on her keyring, it was kind of like an ice pick. I taught her how to poke it through her fingers while she was carrying them and told her to aim for the eyes and throat with it if at all possible, if not to aim for either side of the chest for the lungs. I also taught her to always move towards an attacker, never away, until she was free and most especially to use her teeth. The big thing is awareness, teach them to always look around them whether it’s day or night. We practiced and talked about it all the time and I made sure to show her articles on girls being abducted, especially if they included security video.

  • LeaveMeBe

I saw the picture before I read the title and I thought maybe our discussion on another thread had contributed to it’s use. After reading the story, I get why it was used but don’t even think it comes close to accurately illustrating the horror. :(

  • duper

you’re going to mentally traumatize your child. she will grow up with trust issues.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Anna-Hall-Grillot/100000054600337 Anna Hall Grillot

You should always be aware of your surroundings, especially as a beautiful young woman. I hardly call tht traumatized. And if she is, at least she will be alive.

  • http://www.krashthrills.wordpress.com/ Anthony Mandich

Several times each day, after reflecting on stories I read on dreamindemon.com, videos I see on liveleak.com, bestgore.com and pornhub.com, and episodes from the environment where I currently live, the Coachella Valley, I find myself feeling an overwhelming desire to take illegal drugs and go skateboarding with my earphones in and turned up as loud as my eardrums can possibly stand. Several times each DAY! That’s how sick and fucking demented this world and its inhabitants are to me. Please mother mercy take me from this place…

  • http://www.krashthrills.wordpress.com/ Anthony Mandich

Physically she will recover and I’m grateful for that. Spiritually-Mentally? She will be feeling the repercussions from this horrible attack for the rest of her life. Unfortunately, her innocence, what little of it that she was probably clinging to as it were, has been snatched away brutally and irrevocably. I feel a heavy heart after reading this story and just thinking my own daughters name in my head. Please God….

  • http://www.krashthrills.wordpress.com/ Anthony Mandich

Shit happens. Not the relative’s fault really….

  • http://www.krashthrills.wordpress.com/ Anthony Mandich

    True that Anna

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Anna-Hall-Grillot/100000054600337 Anna Hall Grillot

    Yeah, no kidding! Thank you.

  • Buffettgirl

I thought the exact same thing at first – on all counts! This poor girl, it breaks my heart how much one night has changed her life…

  • brandi

yes, i do see where you are coming from. and as with any system that any type of government has created, there’s failures. I don’t side with those factors, and in no way do i “like” or condone the killing of innocents. Now that i know some of these things i have done a small amount of research on who you’ve named, not too mention a few others, and this is a huge underlining problem with this system.
Also: that’s not my down vote. I don’t down vote unless there’s pure stupidity to be spoken. I do appreciate what’s been said and has given me different look. But, i still do think that putting these serious “proven” offenders to death, is a better way than keeping them housed in maximum security so that they can have 3 hots and a cot and live while their victims are dead, and their families mourning.

  • alphatroll

Not necessarily – some states allow the death penalty for rape in extreme cases. I’m pretty sure Texas is one of them.

  • alphatroll

    “It’s pink, Momma!”

    (sorry, couldn’t resist) ;)

  • Amplifier Worship

Unfortunately Texas only fries repeat offenders of children under 14. What perfect justifiable sense. Another fun fact: though a handful of states have laws that allow for the death penalty in these cases, not a single US citizen has ever been legally executed this way.
