Teens Stop Crazy Man From Grabbing Toddlers At Florida PlaygroundPORT RICHEY, FL – A mother in Florida is praising a group of teenagers for possibly saving the lives of two children after a man tried grabbing them while they were visiting a local park.

At around dusk Saturday, 28-year-old Sharaya Smith said she’d taken her young daughter and nephew to play at Lake Lisa Park and eat pizza. As they walked through the park’s parking lot, she noticed a group of teenagers playing loud music, kissing and cursing. “We’re trying to have a pizza party,” Smith remembers telling them. “And my kids don’t need to hear your mouths.”

A short while later, while her daughter and nephew played on a slide, she noticed 34-year-old Bienvenido Cintron nearby. He was disheveled, wearing a tan trench coat, and spouting out verses from the Bible he was carrying. Cintron made his way over to Smith, who had already collected the two children, and began yelling at her, stating he was Obama and was sent to rid the world of drug dealers and prostitutes.

According to Smith, Cintron grabbed 3-year-old Dante Moretti-Taylor’s arm and tried to wrench him from Smith’s grasp while calling him a drug dealer. Cintron then grabbed 4-year-old Tatiana Ortega by the hair and one of her arms, calling her a prostitute. Smith said she was able to wrestle the children away then ran into the lot calling for help with Cintron following behind her.

Three of of the teens she had snapped at earlier responded by walking over and standing around her and the two children, keeping Cintron at a distance. That’s when Smith’s brother and sister pulled into the lot in Smith’s car and Smith quickly placed the two children inside. While the teens escorted Smith to a nearby pavilion so she could get her purse, Cintron began circling the car while telling the children to unlock the doors. When they refused, Cintron spat on the car.

Smith said the teens helped her get back to the car, but once inside, Cintron pulled the door open before she had a chance to lock it. He tried grabbing Dante again, but she was able to slam the door shut as her brother drove away. Smith says she then watched as Cintron headed toward the teens.

A few hours later, Cintron called 911 to report he had been beaten up by a group of teenagers. Police arrived at his home, a mile and a half away from the park, to find Cintron sporting eyes that looked like two freshly fucked assholes, a bloody nose and a busted lip.

Police were already familiar with Cintron as he had caused a disturbance at a Publix earlier in the day. Figuring this was the same man that had tried to snatch Smith’s daughter and nephew, they brought Smith to Cintron’s house where she positively identified him from the safety of a patrol car.

Cintron was arrested and charged with kidnapping and auto burglary. He is currently residing at the Land O’Lakes jail on a $160,000 bail. Police are not sure if the teens that helped Smith are the same ones who put the beat down on Cintron, but she doesn’t care. She just wants to thank them. “I don’t think that they realize,” said Smith. “They saved two children’s lives.”

Wtf? A crazy guy tries to steal your children and after you get away you watch him walk towards some teens but you don’t call 911 till a few hours later??? So never mind if he would have gnashed the faces off those teens or if cray-cray found some other kids to molest or worse? WHAT?
ETA: correction, it was him who rang 911. So she just didn’t care at all about the fate of anybody else at all?

  • http://www.facebook.com/Leashaness Alicia Lynee’

That is so amazing how they helped that woman and her children. I hope they let this walking dumpster rot in jail and get to some drug rehab stat. Nasty motherfucker needs a new hobby.

  • newstarshipsmell

No, the crazy guy called 911 a couple hours later, after he’d been beaten up. It doesn’t say that the mother waited to call 911. The cops already knew that a kidnapping attempt had happened earlier and believed he was the perp, so it stands to reason that she reported it promptly.

  • Buffettgirl

She must have called them at sometime after the incident since they went and got her to have her ID the guy at his home…

  • http://www.dreamindemon.com Morbid

Since the police were aware of the park incident (hence them bringing Smith to his house after he called 911) I am assuming she called police immediately after the incident.

  • Sam

Kudos to the teenagers. They may have been smelly, obnoxious, loud and rude but they were decent when it mattered.

  • Buffettgirl

This gives me hope! Even after she called the teens out on their language, these kids didn’t let it get in the way of helping her and the kids when help was needed.

For once, a story out of FL that makes my day in a happy way!

  • newstarshipsmell

Wouldn’t it be ironic if those kids do indeed grow up to become a drug dealer and a prostitute… Not that there’s any reason to think they would. But Jesus, that guy is fucking whacked. Figuratively, and literally!

  • Prominent Prozac

Whoever these teens are, I wanna praise the hell out of them, they sound like a rowdy bunch so maybe chip in for some rap CDs and weed?
I love how an older generation is complaining about this one, constantly giving them shit about how they dress/speak/act but at the end of it I’ve seen a lot come through in ways adults don’t.
…Also I love the fact they beat him until his eyes went to “freshly fucked asshole” status ;) , I really love kids, must be their sense of humor.

  • Prominent Prozac

I was just writing the same shit to you, they beat me out. Yeah. Anyway it’s right here “Police were already familiar with Cintron as he had caused a disturbance at a Publix earlier in the day. Figuring this was the same man that had tried to snatch Smith’s daughter and nephew, they brought Smith to Cintron’s house where she positively identified him from the safety of a patrol car.” All you gotta do is read.

  • http://www.facebook.com/schofieldmisty Misty Sue

Ok maybe it is just because I am from Canada, but why do the police in tge US always get Id’s at the offenders house instead of the cop ahop?

  • Prominent Prozac

I dunno, but it’d be funny..and I’d have to apologise because the guy was just speaking the truth.

  • OutOfBubbleGum

See, I told you so, “Make a crazy’s hostage bunker available and a crazy hostage taker will take a hostage.”

  • daMonBrooks

Damn toddler drug dealers. My part of the country is overrun with them.

  • daMonBrooks

I think its amazing that we find it amazing that people help people. Doing the right thing shouldn’t be…. *steps on soap box to rant, passes out from bloody nose*

  • Evan Oswald

I don’t always buy drugs, but when I do it’s always from toddlers.

  • creamofflicka

Yea,.. most fuck-ups are better than they’re given credit for. Most “pillar of the community” types, however,….

  • brandi

i laughed so hard i coughed and gagged…… i now have regurgitation in my throat… thanks.

  • brandi

if i knew what a cop ahop was…. that’s the first thing a cop says when you encounter one. “i need to see some id” why? because they like to check for warrants and such, and run your background so they know what they are dealing with. If you’ve had priors on drugs, weapons,or your a felon, then they know what they are handling.

  • brandi

That’s a true lesson in life! Keep your nose in your own business. Those kids weren’t hurting anyone, and ok they cuss, but so does the tv you watch. Ok, they listen to loud music, but I’m sure there’s more adults that do that now a days than teens. i just think if she would’ve been worried about her kids and having a pizza picnic, instead of trying to mother someone else’s teens, then she wouldn’t have stuck her foot in her mouth. Yea, they saved your kids life, i bet you could care less if they made out and cussed now…

  • Abroad

a is right next to s on a qwerty keyboard.

  • brandi

well, i don’t have a qwerty keyboard, i do swipe, and if all that is so, there is an edit button. I thought it was some form of lingo in Canada. But thank you for answering when I’m almost sure she is capable of that herself. lemme check…..one second…… yes, it says i replied to misty sue.

  • Abroad

I suspect she commented from a mobile device and they can sometimes make it difficult to edit, if she even realised there was an error. (And apologies for butting into your conversation. I didn’t realise it was private.)

  • G.I.R.L.

He had enough common sense to report to the police when he felt like a victim? Go figure.

  • Buffettgirl

Hey now, nothing wrong with reminding teens that there are little ones around and to try and keep it clean… I do it sometimes when I have the “littles” (the ones under 6 are “the littles”) with me. I know they’re exposed to it all of the time, but that doesn’t mean they can’t also be taught that cussing and behaving badly are not always acceptable too. Mind you I have a potty mouth worse than a drunken sailors, but I do try to reign it in around little ones… ;-)

  • G.I.R.L.

Don’t apologize to this… “Brandi”…. she’s too drunk off of her own name (which seems to be purposely misspelled). In this… “Brandi’s” world everyone is beautiful and perfect with real c-cups; the world isn’t only yours… “Brandi”! :-)

  • brandi

And that’s the thing, If you teach your child right from wrong, you can do a lot more for them than telling other folks to do the same. you as a parent are their biggest most valuble example. She could’ve told her children as they walked off from them that the foul langauge that was spouted off and things that they were doing (kissing), was not appropriate and not polite. It would’ve done a lot more than them seeing their mother telling someone else to keep quiet, and kept her from sticking her foot in her mouth and feeling bad later. I do admit i have the urge to say things to people who do things i don’t agree with, but instead, i tell myself that saying something, or doing something will only stir up a shit pot, and my kid will see me yelling and fighting, (and more than likely cursing) at someone, for something that he doesn’t even know about. Point is, he will take more from seeing me act an ass on someone, than just passing by someone acting an ass.

  • brandi

yea, i caught that when you said qwerty keyboard, and no it’s not, i just assume someone that can write a comment can reply on their own. no she doesn’t realize and i wasn’t giving her flak for it, i was simply joking about her error. i even described to her why, and not in any rude manor. like i said i use swipe, so this must mean i use a “mobile device” as well and seeing as how i edit all the time without struggle i would assume she could too, but i did not say that to her so that she would fix it, i said it to joke around like we all do.

  • brandi

excuse me? is this jump on band wagon day or what? like i stated previously, i was not giving her flak for her mistake, it was done in a jokingly manor and in no way rude to accumulate any anomosity from band wagoners alike. apparently in “your world” it’s ok to go around assuming others like you and will agree with your stupidity…. NEXT!?

  • Buffettgirl

I agree with you – why bring your name into it? Especially if what I think was intended to be snarky-funny wasn’t, but just fell flat instead.

BTW, does it say something about me that my three favorite songs from childhood were/are “Margaritaville,” “Brandy” and “The Pina Colada Song?” ;-)

  • Buffettgirl

I am usually able to handle it in a funny enough way that everyone ends up laughing… The last time I did it I asked a group of 13-14 yr old boys to chill out a little on the language please, because I was still afraid of the littles Grandmother even at my age, and I’d be blamed for anything the littles repeated! They all cracked up and then said no worries, they understood. In fact they apologized a little bit later when one of them cussed on accident! It’s a different story if I’m alone in the car though…

  • brandi

i found nothing she said funny and apparently no one else did either… but that’s neither here nor there, i can usually hold a convo without losing my shit, but today is no beuno… lol and yes, it says you might be an alcoholic.. lol jk it just means your pretty awesome! everyone loves jimmy buffet and brandy, that song has been sang to me since i was born!

  • brandi

well here, it’s a bit different… unfortunately i live amongst thugs.. of all different ages. NO, not cause i live in the hood, but because i live in houston. spouting off to one of these brats is like saying something to the kid that got beat by the dollar store clerk, except worse. here, you don’t say anything that you not willing to eat, you either better have already called the cops, or have a bigger gun than they do. and yes i am speaking of teenagers in high school. these punks out here don’t play….

  • G.I.R.L.

Omg i know it’s hard to “read” sarcasm, but i was sure that it’s implication was obvious. LOL Remain calm and collected; i was only teasing you. :-)

  • G.I.R.L.

Apparently two people did find me funny, way to under-analyze something for your benefit. LOL At any case, it was all in good humor; no need for you and Ms. Buffett to delve deeper into it. ;-p

  • G.I.R.L.

That explains it! Ya see, even this… “Brandi”… can have a no good day. I removed my shoes before walking in the house to please you.

  • newstarshipsmell

@Sammmmmmmmmmmmmm:disqus’s usually a pretty astute reader, and generally funny as shit – I think we can give her a pass this time.

  • Buffettgirl

Ms. Buffett thought that you mocking her given name was uncalled for and not especially funny in the least. Since my given name is Carrie, you can imagine the lifetime of “teasing” I’ve gotten over Stephen King’s book by the same name (I’m actually 4 years older than that damn book) and of course prom time was no fun in school. At my age of 40+ some retardiots still tease me about prom… I just thought that since she had no control over what she was named any more than I did, it was unkind to make fun of her name.

  • G.I.R.L.

I wasn’t insulting her due to her name; it was an alcohol pun (hence why i wrote that she was drunk off of her own name which seemed to be purposely misspelled). I honestly didn’t give much thought into expected reactions, but what i did get really surprised me.

  • Buffettgirl

It happens to me at times too – I find me hilarious most of the time, not everyone does however. For me it really was the whole “you don’t get to pick what your parents name you” thing. Well, unless you’re Picabo Street that is. :-)

  • Heather4877

It’s situations like this that can turn a teen POSSIBLY heading in the wrong direction (not that these kids were. Their behavior sounds obnoxious, but not necessarile delinquent) into a productive member of society. A little bit of kudos and a chance to be a hero can go a long way into making a kid want more of it. Awesome story.

  • Heather4877

Am I the only one that thinks it’s weird that the brother just sat in the car? Even if he was the driver he could have had the sister take over so he could get out. Maybe it happened too fast or he was intimidated by the situation. I don’t know, people sometimes don’t act like they’d LIKE to THINK they’d act in certain situation, I guess. He’s probably feeling like an ass right about now…

  • nomorepolitix

Do you think the Land O’ Lakes jail has the best butter in corrections? I’m asking for a friend…

  • LeaveMeBe

So take that, you butting in butter. Yeah. :P

  • LeaveMeBe

Hey! I’m a Carrie, too. And I put up with all the Stephen King references. Wanna start a support group?

  • Isaac Cros

I hope that beating reminded him who he really is..lol

  • Twisted1

My wonderful parents put me on a greyhound bus from Chattanooga to Clearwater when I was 15 after they kicked me out because I did not want to go to their crazy church anymore. I befriended the big scary looking teenager (about 17) with the Mohawk and piercings. He protected me the whole trip and even covered me with his jacket when I fell asleep. I never judge a book by its cover. Btw Am I the only one who busted out laughing when reading the crazy guy called the cops after getting his butt beat?

  • Twisted1

I got plenty of friends and family in the area. I can have them ask around if ya want me too?

  • Reverend DiCosta

The Mom didn’t even bother to call the police ? wtf

He could have easily found another victim. Another missing kid. Gee Thanks Mom.

  • Reverend DiCosta

    hehe lol

  • Reverend DiCosta

    I’m still stuck on qwerty…

  • JohnQknowitall

So this is what a clown looks like under all that makeup?

  • brandi

see, but my joking was no “blow” to her.. i did not poke fun at her name, nor did i tell someone else not to apologize to her. you spoke about ways i think, when you don’t know how i think. If that was a joke, as stated before, it was distasteful, and kind of shrewed.. maybe next time you should play it out in your head a couple times before you type, and you might get the response you were looking for and not be sooooo suprised by the outcome of things.

  • brandi

I’m not butt hurt in any manor. I just thought it odd to speak of someone’s thought process, when you know nothing of them, and the name thing well, even tho there’s nothing i can do about it, i LOVE my name. I aware it’s spelled with an “i” and thats what makes it some what unique. Sorry about the carrie thing.. i like that name. If it helps i would’ve made them look and feel like complete shit for that, had i known them, or you….

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Anna-Hall-Grillot/100000054600337 Anna Hall Grillot

They brought him to her house??? So now he knows where she lives???WHAT THE FRICK???

  • brandi

you can call it cask….. carrie’s against stephen king…..

  • brandi

i find you hilarious most of the time too…..

  • brandi

i was gonna say! damn sam! who’s bad side are you on today? poor sam…

  • sweekymom

Good for them. I hope she throws them a pizza party.

  • Sam

Eh, serves me right for only reading half a story. In my defense though i was simultaneously trying to fold laundry and feed my uncooperative toddler cod in parsley sauce when i was typing that rant… :)

  • brandi

no, they took her to his house… lol there is ALOT of confusion in this story…

  • brandi

multi-tasking! all mommy’s know how that is! lol

  • Buffettgirl

We should! Does that man have a clue what he’s done to us? I mean honestly, it’s just mean! ;-)

  • Buffettgirl

it’s those other times I have to worry about eh?

  • Buffettgirl

Well thank you! I did well enough on my own… more than a few folks learned that it’s not nice to tease the Carrie at prom time…. Bwaaaahahahahahaha!

  • Mike

We take our kids to this park twice a week. Sometimes its nice, other times its full of thug gangster kids and white trash methed-out moms. I think we’ll stay the fuck away from this place from now on. Oh my god.

  • brandi

no other times it’s simply “funny” just not hilarious…. lol

  • MyHovercraftIsFullofEels

If she didn’t call the police then how did they know where to find her for the ID or that he was the man who had accosted her and the children.

“She slammed the door shut and her brother sped away to her mother’s house where they would call authorities.”

  • G.I.R.L.

I never had expectations; I was taken aback because i was pretty sure that everyone here was an adult and that these adults knew how to laugh, even if a joke was in bad taste, over something written on the internet. I feel people look for something in nothing. Excuse me if my joke offended you; certain jokes aren’t for certain people. Furthermore, i don’t know you personally; hell, i don’t even know you on this site; the investment put into the issue was unnecessary, especially after i left everything obvious (in my initial comment; hell i mentioned something about real c-cups, that didn’t give it away either?).

I’ll be sure not to make anymore puns (note “puns” as i never took a “jab” at you) about your name, or not to slightly channel you, or do essentially what you did in the future. Cheers. :-)

  • Buffettgirl

Sweet! At least one person out there gets my train of thought… <3

  • Buffettgirl

I’m SO glad I wasn’t the only one that immediately thought this!

  • brandi

    perfect……

  • Wildheart

    It’s why I don’t have kids…..ain’t nobody got time for that! ;)

  • Wildheart

Yes I know Misty Sue can answer for herself, but seeing as she hasn’t yet, may I offer my take on her question? (That was rhetorical….I’m going to anyway :) I think what Misty Sue was asking was why the cops sometimes make people IDENTIFY alleged perps at the alleged perp’s house rather than at the police station. I don’t think she was questioning why the cops ask people for their IDs.

  • Lena60

No ,this guy doesn’t look batshit crazy.

  • brandi

thank you! she said “why do they get id’s” and not, why do they make them id someone. that’s why i assumed she meant why do they ask for id at your house instead of a cop shop, this is where i got confused apparently. I just want to thank you for saying that without being a dueche and calling folk’s out of there names, or in this case fucking with someone’s name :)

  • brandi

nope, just like “2 freshly fucked asshole’s”

  • G.I.R.L.

You’ve called me stupid and a deuche (i think you meant douche) while i never once called you out of name. Interesting.

It saddens me that someone with such good hair, could go so wrong.

I can get you a good deal on Smarties, just say the word.

  • Abroad

Under the circumstances, – after she corrected them for cussing and swearing in front of her kids? I confess I too was pleasantly surprised at this turn of events, as was – clearly – the mother.

  • daMonBrooks

Yes. Even under these circumstances. If you stand by and watch a child get abducted, you are subhuman.
I’m blown away by peoples reaction when I see they need assistance and I provide it. Its how we got were we are as a species, and I hope we can continue to go a lot further.

  • brandi

once again, keep your snarky half ass comments to yourself. i didn’t call YOU a dueche (i can spell the shit however i like) i said thank you for NOT being a deuche to WILDHEART. Your point is not even relatively valid….
