Murder Suspect Threw Victim’s Arms At Witnesses

KIRKSVILLE, MO – After running this site for almost a decade, and writing 3372 articles, it’s rare that I type out a headline that seems too surreal to be true.

My Daddy Ate My Eyes Out, Man Dies After Eating Cocaine Out Of Brother’s Ass, and Crash Caused By Woman Shaving Her Vagina While Driving are just a few titles that come to mind, and now I have this one.

There aren’t a lot of details surrounding the actual murder, but on Sunday, police responded to a call regarding a burning vehicle at a public housing complex.

Once there, officers found 49-year-old Paul R. Potter standing near a burning vehicle and two burning apartments. In their report, the officers say they watched as Potter hurled two objects at nearby witnesses.

Those two objects turned out to be a pair of human arms.

Police and firefighters would find the arms’ owner in one of the burning apartments. Both of the apartments were strewn with blood, but one contained the armless corpse of Potter’s neighbor, who had also been stabbed multiple times. Witnesses say Potter had been involved in some kind of altercation earlier in the day.

Police allege Potter had set the fires in an effort to cover up the murder of his neighbor, and had blood on both of his hands. Potter was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, second-degree arson and felony tampering with a motor vehicle. He is being held on a $1 million cash only bond.

Authorities are withholding the identity of the victim until his family could be located and notified.

Wow. I can just imagine the look on this guy’s face when he realised he picked up the wrong thing as he was rushing out of the burning building. I imagine it’s quite difficult to stab a witness’ eyes out with an arm.

Right? I flew to St. Louis for business, once, and it must be the most un-tourist-friendly major city in the country. It was such an unfortunate combination of lame/sketchy, we actually drove 100 miles north to Hannibal to go on a damn Mark Twain river boat ride. I saw my first Mennonite that day. My business partner, an east coast native, turned to me and said, “You know how you can tell they’re Mennonite and not Amish? They have buttons on their clothing.” I found it quite interesting. Then dude whipped out a smart phone with a hip-hop ringtone. I couldn’t help but giggle.

Just when you think nothing sicker or more bizarre can happen, it does. I don’t remember the title, but I still give cred for the Magnotta write up. Can’t remember if it was Morbid, I want to say that there were two great write ups on that. This site’s name “Dreamin Demon” does live up to it’s name though. I once read a story (and I dare not say which one because I don’t want anyone reposting it) that creeped me the fuck out so much that I left the site for about 3months or so. I couldn’t get the picture out of my head for weeks and I was afraid to go to sleep every single night. It was horrible. I hope that fucking story never comes back up in any way, but in all seriousness it traumatized me. Don’t ask me why I still come back and read more shit.

If the explanation they give in the beginning of the show is correct, about how they haven’t made their final “vows’ (using that for lack of a better word) to the church and are therefore not “full Amish” yet then yes, I think it could be true. Much stranger things have happened, all you have to do is spend 15 minutes here to figure that out!
