Pizza Hut Delivery Driver Caught Pissing On Front Door Of No Tipping CustomerDES MOINES, Iowa - Speaking of getting into trouble for taking a piss, a Pizza Hut delivery driver has lost his job after he got angry at a customer for not giving him a tip and proceeded to piss on the woman’s front door.

Chloe Teply ordered a Pizza Hut pizza and had it delivered to her apartment Thursday, even though she knew she didn’t have enough money to tip the driver. “It’s just one of those things where unfortunately, I don’t have the money,” said Teply.

So a couple hours after the driver delivered her pizza and left without a tip, she opened the front door of her apartment to find that someone had pissed on her door. She contacted the apartment manager who checked out surveillance footage captured by a camera right outside Teply’s apartment.

The video showed the pizza exchange between the driver and Teply, but after Teply went back inside her apartment the delivery man can be seen setting down his pizza bag, walking up to her door and pissing all over it.

The apartment manager called the Pizza Hut restaurant and complained to the store’s manager who apologized for the driver’s behavior and even watched the video himself. Afterwards he stated the driver would be fired.

Teply wasn’t satisfied with the pizza delivery guy losing his job because he got angry over her broke ass not being able to afford $2, and wanted to see more happen to the guy. “I mean is he going to come back and clean it up? I didn’t expect him to, but maybe I should make a few phone calls and see what he’s doing,” said Teply.

Well, she got her wish. After the driver was fired and the story aired on the local news, the man called and apologized to Teply and even went back to clean up his mess.

I get that some people resent tipping the driver after a pizza chain tacks on that bullshit “delivery charge” on the bill, and I’m not excusing the delivery guy’s failure to check for cameras, but if you’re so broke you can’t afford to tip the driver then maybe your broke ass shouldn’t be ordering a goddamn pizza for delivery in the first place.

This woman is a low class bitch. End of story.

    2 bucks says she sues

  • OutOfBubbleGum

Being a past pizza delivery guy, I always refused tips from an OB/GYN that did circumcisions.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dre.mosley Dre Mosley

Pizza is pricey. When you are broke, make it Ramen. If she could not tip, then she should have picked it up, and no I’m not excusing the guy.

  • LeaveMeBe

These two are a match made in heaven if you ask me. She’s a no-tipping broke ass bitch and he’s an ass for peeing on her door. I have to admit, I am laughing at what he did and if I have to pick a side, I’m going with the delivery driver.

  • ViewerBeware

The way it used to work is that Pizza Hut charged their delivery fee ($2.00) but they kept $1.00 of that and gave the other $1.00 to the driver. So in keeping with that, the reality is this lady tipped the driver a $1.00 already and just didn’t know it. The real money is in the customer tips, but any driver knows you’re not going to get tipped everywhere you deliver to. You have to be quick and courteous to get any decent money, bringing plates and napkins and cheese and peppers does help a bit too.
I delivered pizzas years ago but stopped because the wear and tear and gas prices became too much. Was making about $50-75 in tips alone plus my delivery fees, so about $100-120 on a average day.

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

While I agree that not tipping a driver in an INCREDIBLY shitty thing to do, pissing on her door was equally shitty and incredibly immature.

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

Maybe they’ll fall in love and get married. After all, he already marked her door as his territory.

  • CT

Wait, so this wrong? Lying cheap ass bitches, all of em. OK, now in all seriousness – so you went on the news to tell everyone that you are a cheap ass bitch? REALLY?

  • CT

Me too. Guy was just watching out for her cholesterol level.

  • PlaysWithBalls

She left the mess there long enough to wait for someone else to clean it up? I understand making a point, but leaving piss to fester on your front door is a little dramatic and a lot disgusting if you ask me.

  • http://www.facebook.com/debra.richardson.9277 Debra Richardson

Years ago I was asked to deliver pizzas for a small co. There was no pay except tips. They said I would make at least $20.00/hr. I didn’t believe them.

  • daMonBrooks

If you don’t have the cash to tip, you don’t have the cash for a delivery or to eat out. simple as that.

  • http://www.facebook.com/lorraine.nation.3 Lorraine Nation

She had a credit card put the tip on that

  • sheevaa

There is no law saying you have to tip. Delivery is this guys job. A tip is just that, a TIP for service well done, or if you feel in a generous mood. Not for every goddamn thing that you’re expected to tip for now. “Oh look, you did your job correctly, here’s a tip!” Really? When did that become the norm?

Before you all decide to shit on me, I have and still do work customer service. I tip when I can or if I feel someone has gone out of their way for me, but no, not for every coffee I get or guy dropping off pizza.

  • newstarshipsmell

…but if you’re so broke you can’t afford to tip the driver then maybe
your broke ass shouldn’t be ordering a goddamn pizza for delivery in the
    first place.

But @DreaminDemon:discus , isn’t stiffing a delivery driver the lesser of two evils when the alternative is a woman driving to the pizzeria?

  • http://www.facebook.com/lorraine.nation.3 Lorraine Nation

I tip the delivery guys $5, $10 or more on holidays.

  • joshua

I had a situation where my neighbors got into this nasty fight where the wife accused the husband of sleeping with his sister and then kicked him out of the house…he came back and pissed on their door.

And yes…we live in the south.

  • ultracreep

I’m inclined to agree with you. I’ve worked many tippable jobs and sometimes went above and beyond and STILL didn’t get tipped. I never peed on anything or spit in anyone’s food over it. I am a good tipper, but there has been a couple of times when I handed the kids the money to pay the delivery guy and they forgot to give him a tip and I don’t think that merits having my door pissed on.

  • joshua

dumb tipping question…what is the rule for tipping in buffet restaurants or say pizza hut? I tip in regular restaurants because they bring my food AND my drinks but never in buffet restaurants or pizza places. In a buffet restaurant I have to go get my own food and at a pizza place I get my own drinks…so I don’t tip.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=736546181 Michael Heldman

You can leave a buck if you think the staff went out of their way in any manner (nice, eager to assist, etc.)

  • sheevaa

I really don’t mind tipping either. It will because I want to and feel like I’ve received great customer service. Not because it’s expected and my door will be pissed on/food will be compromised if I don’t for whatever reason.
I do my job to get the wages that were agreed upon. Tips are a great extra that I was thankful for, I never considered them mandatory from people.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=736546181 Michael Heldman

“I don’t have the money for a tip and I’m too lazy to actually get my own pizza, must order delivery……so
I can wear it on my face and become PIZZA THE HUT!!”……..(*thoughts from Chloe Teply’s head moments before the incident)

That is how servers and such making a living though. When you are having a bad day at work and do subpar (and everybody does) would you like to not be paid for the day?

  • CT

Is that really you? Be still my heart.

  • Andyman

What a fucking cunt. I agree, he should have looked for cameras but please – she is so fucking broke she can’t give the guy two bucks she should have ordered carryout. Hell Pizza Hut gives you any pizza for $10 as a carryout instead of $17 with the delivery charge and $2 tip. Cheap ass bitch.

  • ultracreep

Exactly, if tips are supposed to simply be “mandatory” add it to the price of the food.

  • Andyman

I ran into this recently at Golden Coral. You pre-pay and there is no gratuity line on the receipt. If you don’t have any cash in your pocket, you are forced to not tip. I’m not entirely sure this should be the customer’s fault. I usually like to leave a buck or two regardless. But if I find myself in a position where I can’t I try not to bother the waitress and keep my table clean to minimize their effort.

  • ultracreep

I was a server for many years, and you know going in that giving excellent service for tips you may or may not get is the name of the game.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=736546181 Michael Heldman

When I visit a buffet I try not to burden the staff as much as a full service restaurant like you do. They do appreciate and notice most of the time. When I leave, I pile my plates etc. making cleanup easier and leave a tip on the table. Some places try to discourage tipping in buffet environments, I’m sure they have their reasons, I leave a few bucks anyway and pretend ignorance. I figure, if I tip a bartender to slide me a drink, why not someone handling my food or cleaning up after me.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=736546181 Michael Heldman

    Do you tip the bartender?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=736546181 Michael Heldman

I use to tip in the summer… before it was cool.

  • Athena

Yeah… I wouldn’t have gone to the media with this. If you can’t expose an asshole without exposing yourself as one, too, you should probably limit it to dude’s boss.

Of course, if she were really smart, she probably would have left it alone altogether. I never worked in the food industry, but I’ve heard more than one account of notes being left in the system alerting other staff of non-tipping customers.

…and, since it apparently doesn’t go without saying, this dude was a douchebag for overreacting so severely.

  • iheartpetepuma

Like others have pointed out, if she were that destitute she wouldn’t be ordering a pizza. She’s just conveniently broke whenever it comes to tipping someone a few dollars, a.k.a. cheap slore.

  • daMonBrooks

I’m sorry i offended a few cheap asses. But seriously, Don’t eat out. :)

  • Sam

I don’t know what this woman is moaning for. She got an extra topping without having to pay for it.

Ya seriously, who is voting these comments down. Probably her. haha!

  • EBenes

Im just saying…if you don’t tip on a normal basis, I wouldn’t eat or order from there again if I were you…. I have seen many a dish spit in. At least ten times, no joke. And waiters, bartenders, delivery drivers…they remember the no tippers.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Cindy-Crawford/13964421 Cindy Crawford

Or use that 10 dollars to buy the ingredients to make a healthy, home-cooked meal. Nothing beats good old-fashioned home cooking.

  • Jessica Stewart

I just wanna butt in here. There are places in the US where people are paid minimum wage *plus* tips. Now, I can understand how you could be upset if you didn’t get a tip and you were being paid $2.50 an hour, or what ever ridiculously low amount they pay for “tipped jobs”(which i disagree with) but if you’re making minimum wage, and you *expect* a tip, you’re in the wrong industry. if it’s *expected* it should be included in the price, otherwise its a non-pissonmyfrontdoor-offense. I’ve been in the service industry since I was 10 yrs old (family business) and if you expect everyone to tip, you’ll just end up angry and disappointed, everyday.

  • Coyote

Damn, why’s everyone getting so pissed off?

  • http://www.facebook.com/crystal.clear.50999405 Crystal Clear

wait someone that didn’t have 2 dollars for a tip is a low class bitch but not the moron that pissed at a customers door and got himself fired over a 2 dollar tip isn’t low class? really something wrong with your way of thinking and i’m just not talking about you. many people here are treating this woman like if she is some horrible human being. who are you to tell someone that they can’t order pizza if they can’t tip? unless the tipping is mandotory she doesn’t have to tip anyone and it looks like the delivery guy didn’t deserve it anyways. now that everyone knows what a scumbag he is. i hope he never gets tips. if you’re gotten get that butt hurt over a freakin tip then you’re in the wrong line of work.

  • brandi

i went so far one time to tip one of these bastards, that i took a dollar from my own son’s piggy bank. just so that i wouldn’t be pinned as the no tippin’ bitch that gets a special surprise in her pizza next time she orders… i did replace the dollar btw

  • PlaysWithBalls

Indeed it is! I’ve missed my dysfunctional DD family.

  • http://www.facebook.com/crystal.clear.50999405 Crystal Clear

apparently she did have cash to buy the pizza. there is no law that you have to tip. here’s a solution. don’t get a job where you depend on tips. you’re not always gonna get it. blame the business for not paying enough. it’s not the customers job to make sure you get paid.

  • EBenes

I am not saying that what he did was right. It was very immature, really. However, what probably happened is that he has been stiffed so many times by said low-lifes that he reached his breaking point. We all have them. Also what made her a low class bitch was because she was not happy that she just got him fired because of her own cheapness, she decided the media needed to know! So I repeat…this woman is a low class bitch.

Also, note to self: Do not take delivery job in Crystal’s neighborhood.

  • PlaysWithBalls

When I was working my way through college, waiting tables was about the only job that fit into my schedule and had the potential to make enough money to keep me afloat. Believe it or not, that was my best option at the time so I took it. It IS the social norm to tip, especially when the service you expect is provided to you. When your livelihood depends on the generosity of strangers, tips all of sudden matter a lot more. It clearly doesn’t excuse the piss antics of the delivery kid, but I don’t consider tipping optional.

  • Eliza Berntsen

Why on earth would you have to tip a driver? He gets paid for his job. And it’s not like he made that pizza. Unless if tipping is meant to be a thank you for not shitting on the pizza. In which case I say, please keep on tipping.

  • LuvsHorror

Right. Everyone seems to be saying that if you can’t afford to tip, then you can’t have pizza delivered. Bullshit. Sorry this disgusting guy got asshurt, but tough shit. Get a better job. All he did was drive the pizza to her house. With an added charge for delivery. Did he make the pizza? What a load.

  • understandingoverignorance

Nasty motherfucker….He needs to be slapped for shit like that.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=529168773 Toy Thompson

Omg CT!!! R they serious with the down votes?

  • EBenes

I don’t understand this logic. Pizza Hut is $10 for a large pizza. You go pick it up… $10! But because you are lazy, you will pay a delivery charge of $3, and then stiff the driver? “All he did was drive the pizza to her house” <- This is a service provided, so the customer does not have to get off their ass and go to the Hut. If you cannot "afford" $2 for a tip, then go pick up the pizza yourself.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=529168773 Toy Thompson

    ROTFL!!!! Morbid I love you!!

  • PlaysWithBalls

I think the whole ‘get a better job’ sentiment is a load. I was waiting tables while I got my education, so at the time I wasn’t qualified to get a better job. It is the social norm that when you do your job, you get paid. Services warranting gratuity shouldn’t be any different.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=529168773 Toy Thompson

Wish I could up vote a thousand times!!

  • LuvsHorror

She got him fired because he pissed on her door.

  • LuvsHorror

Perhaps Pizza Hit should give the driver that $3 delivery charge then. It is a service provided. He works for Pizza Hut. She paid for the pizza and delivery charge. Why can’t they pay him?

  • LuvsHorror

Gratuity is extra. You can’t always count on it, and don’t need to be a prick if you don’t get it. You get paid by your employer. If they don’t pay enough, get mad at them.

  • LuvsHorror

Accused him of sleeping with HIS sister?

  • PlaysWithBalls

I’m not saying that what the kid did was right, but I am saying that if you feel you don’t need to tip, despite receiving services that warrant a tip, I will consider you a cheap, selfish moron. Just personal opinion obviously, but everyone deserves to be paid for the services they provide, and in a case where a tip is generally regarded as part of that payment, well, pay up.

  • LuvsHorror

Ewww. Did she order a drink?

  • newstarshipsmell

    LOL @ the image tooltip.

  • Evan Oswald

Jabba the hut vs Pizza guy

  • Evan Oswald

this huge bitch needs to WALK to pizza hut if she is ordering it

  • newstarshipsmell

I dunno, I still think delivery is the lesser evil. Even walking to Pizza Hut, her face could still cause car accidents.

  • http://twitter.com/Q_Jordon Quintin Jordon

It could have been worse – he could have taken a dump.

  • LuvsHorror

I always tip 20%, but if one day I cannot, it does not mean I am a selfish moron who deserves spit in her food or piss on her door. She paid for her services; the price of the pizza and the delivery charge. How Pizza Hut pays their employees is their problem. If this is the sort of thing he resorts to, then he is not a very good employee and deserves to be fired.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1106642961 Alice Hennen

I’m glad I don’t live in a place where it’s perfectly legal to pay someone $2.50 an hour and expect them to make the rest up in tips. I work a second job as a bar tender and I wouldn’t do it for less than $20 an hour. I do get tipped sometimes, but I don’t come to expect it. However, if you’re too broke to pay your delivery charges then go pick up your pizza! Even better, don’t get takeaway!

  • John Kelly

I almost did this so many times working for PAPA JOHNS. instead would just stomp all those sidewalk lights or anything ornamentals, no one ever got mad…

  • CT

I know, thanks for your comment. You are too nice. I have a down vote clown, I mean, fan. Probably some fat cow. Fear not, I actually enjoy it. Gives me something else to be a dick about and/or dramatic. I know who my friends are.

  • CT

    Muah

  • Pipsmom06

technically she got him fired for peeing on her door.

  • John Kelly

I hope you never go out to eat, or order in. You have to tip, that’s OUR GAS and OUR CAR. I bet this lady was 300+lbs and sitting on a couch of pizza boxes, she can tip or rascal her ass to the grocery store.

  • Pipsmom06

I used to deliver pizza in high school, and I was not doing this service out of the goodness of my heart. That was my job, which I was paid a decent hourly wage for. When did tips become mandatory? I have always felt that a tip should be given if you provide great service. If the service is not good, I don’t tip. It’s insane to me that you can get a shitty server and they still want a damn tip.

  • John Kelly

Sure, Get a better job he says. Lets just pick one off the job tree in central park. Dipshit. What he did was burn his expensive ass gas and got you a HOT meal without you leaving your comfy home. If that’s not worth an extra 2 dollars then that’s what carryout is for.

  • John Kelly

Sometimes PART of that goes to the driver in all honesty. Half if he’s lucky. But the rest either drops into CEO’s pockets or has to cover the insurance of having a fleet of delivery drivers. Delivery Driver is a crap job. It even made me a racist. (because its true, they NEVER tip).

  • John Kelly

Well your employer’s boss’s boss’s boss can’t adjust payroll. It’s a minimum (or less with tips) wage job. You either appreciate it or your pizza gets there last every night.

  • http://www.dreamindemon.com Morbid

    Mwuahahahahaha!

  • Athena

I agree that his entitled attitude makes him deserving of being fired, but I think you’re oversimplifying the issue when you say “How Pizza Hut pays their employees is their problem.” In many states, jobs that are associated with tips pay less than minimum wage… because there is a reasonable expectation for tips. Mandatory? No. But so long as problem-free service is received, social norm is to offer a tip.

Yes, service employees should know better to be this shaken by a lack of tip. But to order a service commonly associated with a tip when you know you can’t is uncouth.

  • LeaveMeBe

No shit! I came back to look around and everyone is fuming over damn tipping! ME thinks most are missing the damn point that both of these human beings are idiot tools one way or another and we should just make fun of them! I also think this election stuff has everyone all riled and they are misdirecting their anxiety. But what the hell do I know? :)

  • LeaveMeBe

    Mountain Dew anyone?

  • MyHovercraftIsFullofEels

I totally thought the “tipped job” thing had long been over in favor of minimum wage across the board, but the wiki tells me otherwise. It’s $2.13 minimum.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minimum_wage_in_the_United_States That is some crazy stuff.

I had a “tipped job” as a cocktail waitress one summer, I thought the greenbacks would be flowing like a river. Never again, I would rather work in an office for minimum wage, so I did.

The plus side of being a cocktail waitress at a shitty bar was being able to get drunk at work for free.

  • peanutbutternuts

if the bitch couldn’t afford a tip maybe she shouldn’t be spending 10-20 bucks on a pizza. although i think what he did was immature, i also think it serves the bitch right

  • http://www.facebook.com/dumps.klown Dumps Klown

but look at her photo, there is an obvious second reason she should not be ordering pizza……. she is already blimping….

  • wastintime

I used to work for pizza Hut and the drivers do a hell of a lot more than just deliver. They answer phones, cut the pizzas, help with the prep, wash the dishes and even make the pizzas. They work their asses off. That being said, I would have fired his ass for pissing on her door.

  • Canuck Gramz

When a tip became a “norm” is when we civilized human beings realized that no one can live on a part time minimum wage job. For many workers the tip makes a huge difference.

  • JohnQknowitall

He shouldn’t have peed on her entryway, but at the same time this asshole shouldn’t order a service and expect someone to provide that service free. Looking at her fat ass face, it would not have hurt her to walk somewhere to get a salad.

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

Aw, someone downvoted me! Now the burning question is this: was it the pissy delivery boy, or was it the cheapass bitch?

  • JGo555

  • CT

COWWWWS, DOWN VOTE COW. I know who you are.

  • Gee

I agree this broke bitch should have picked it up herself if she didn’t have the money to tip.

  • Gee

No kidding on exposing herself as just as big an asshole. Her addy has one big skid mark of a warning as a non-tipper. I would never order food for delivery after this.

  • newstarshipsmell

Maybe it was just someone else like me, pissed off that an obvious joke that good was staring them in the face and they overlooked it until you beat them to it.

  • newstarshipsmell

Dunno, the writeup doesn’t imply this was more than a one-time shortcoming on her part, but then, considering the way she advertised her cheapass via the media to the entire local food delivery economy, and how she left human piss soaking into her door while the local news publicized the incident, instead of cleaning it up, it wouldn’t surprise me if she’s done this repeatedly. Maybe she’s been receiving complimentary extra toppings on her pizzas for awhile now – hell, maybe she’s developed an appetite for it, in which case she may have just done herself a favor! Now everywhere she orders from will deliver with that secret ingredient she’s craving.

I’d prefer to think that the guy and his coworkers had been stiffed by her numerous times in the past, inciting him to finally break and wizz away, but then, he did void his bladder right in front of a security camera, so it’s equally plausible he’s just a colossal moron with a short fuse. I love it when everyone involved is a idiot, so I can mock them all guilt-free.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=736546181 Michael Heldman

Would you be upset if the pizza was delivered cold and late?

  • ShelbySP

If you can’t afford to tip, you can’t afford to eat out. Seriously some of those guys have to pay for their own gas. Where does she live? I want to piss on her door too.

  • Hellioness

You’ve obviously never known anyone who delivers pizza or you would already have the answer to that question. Delivery drivers get paid the same as waiters, less than min. wage.

  • Hellioness

And that is greatly appreciated by the drivers, I do the same, plus I try to avoid ordering on days when the weather is horrible, if I do end up ordering they get a larger tip as well..

  • Hellioness

You do realize that pizza delivery guys are classified as waiters and make somewhere around $2.50 an hour right? You live on that.

  • joshua

Yes. Which isn’t to say that her allegation was true. My neighbors were an interracial couple and he was black and ran away from an abusive family when he was still a teenager. By this time he was pushing 40 and his sister was about my age at the time (24). When the sister and the mother came to visit the white wife felt alienated for some weird reason. He hadn’t seen his family since he was a teenager and I guess the wife felt threatened because the sister was attractive and wore tight jeans while she looked like Witch Hazel from the Looney Tunes cartoons. The couple were the manager (the wife) and the assistant manager (the husband) of the call center I worked for at the time (living next door to your bosses when they’re brawling in their front yard is no picnic). The wife sort of ruled that family and she had always emasculated her husband. She threw it in his face that she made the money in the family, accused him of banging his sister and began talking shit about the man’s mother…so they got into a brawl. And I don’t mean she was this tiny little wallflower and the big scary black man beat her up…no this girl was built like a quarterback and he was this shrimpy dude and that bitch could brawl with the best of them.

She kicked him out of the house, fired him, had him arrested (at the workplace) and from then on he was unable to find employment in town so he moved back to Ohio I think.

  • Hellioness

Because people who deliver pizza turned down a slew of other well paying jobs, just so they could work for $2.50 an hour right?

  • http://www.truecrimereport.com CallMeMister

I used to be a delivery guy for a local pizza chain. They have 10 stores or so in my region. I got paid $1 per delivery. The added delivery charge was $1.50. Tips are VERY MUCH where delivery people make their money. Plus most use their own vehicles and gas is not expensed. That fat, cheap, lazy bitch who admitted knowing she couldn’t give the deliverer a tip is lucky he only pissed on her door. I’m not condoning what he did, but she is at fault here too.

She could have written him a check. She could’ve pre-paid for her pizza PLUS tip when she called her order in. Shit, she could’ve apologized to the guy and said she’d MAIL him a couple bucks or something.

I hate people who absolve themselves of responsibility when their actions are the cause of issue escalation.

  • Hellioness

Well it doesn’t work that way anymore, drivers don’t see any of the delivery fees. I think dominos even puts that on their boxes because a lot of people assume the delivery fee is a built in tip. Just recently they changed it here so delivery drivers are essentially mobile waiters and get paid as such.

  • Hellioness

Delivery drivers no longer make a decent hourly wage. They make the same amount a waiter in a restaurant does, around $2.50

  • Athena

You do understand that minimum wage is hardly livable, especially when you consider that these are typically part-time jobs? Combine that with the fact that, generally, the higher the minimum wage, the higher the cost of living in that area.

I agree that a person working in the service industry should be prepared for that occasional un-tipping customer. But customers should always be prepared to tip unless there’s a valid reason not to.

  • daMonBrooks

    bingo.

  • Eliza Berntsen

I had no idea that it was legal to pay less than a minimum wage. I know that waiters earn minimum and therefore it is expected from the customers to tip. But drivers? Isn’t that what the delivery charge is for?

  • Eliza Berntsen

I wouldn’t be bothered if it was cold as I always eat it cold anyway, but I would be if it was late, as the delivery charge isn’t exactly small.

  • Hellioness

Sadly, no. The majority of the time the drivers never see a cent of that delivery charge. That’s usually to help cover costs of having drivers.

  • Eliza Berntsen

Oh, ok. I had no idea. Or maybe it’s different over here.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=736546181 Michael Heldman

I only ask because the delivery charge compensates the company for having to hire an employee to make deliveries and help cover expenses such as insurance for the driver. The wait time for the driver to get to your door from the business is entirely on the driver. So part of the tip given to the driver is for a service the customer enjoys, “speedy delivery”. So while he may get paid for his job, we tip them for the added service they provide. Otherwise getting a pizza two hours after you order would be the norm and the driver would be justified in saying “meh, it ain’t like I get anything extra to get it here sooner”

  • Truth

So let me get this straight. Days later he went back to clean up piss? So he has magical piss that does not dry I guess?

  • PlaysWithBalls

I don’t know what happened to my avatar?! Let me see if I can bring back an oldie but a goodie :)

  • PlaysWithBalls

    There, all better :)

  • Simplyatomic

Papa Johns also keeps the delivery fee.

  • http://www.facebook.com/mary.engebretsen.1 Mary Engebretsen

I NEVER order food with out having tip money. She is a major asshole, Everyone knows the tip is their pay and they have to pay for gas. If he was smart he would have waited for her to order again and spit or dip his balls on it, like my friends used to do. I always tip well do to the stories of my pizza delivering friends.

  • http://www.facebook.com/mary.engebretsen.1 Mary Engebretsen

Go pick up the pizza yourself if you don’t have a tip. I bet you burn more gas then you would have tipped the guy.

  • LuvsHorror

Delivery is a service provided by the restaurant, you pay extra for this service. I don’t have to tip.

  • LuvsHorror

You are disgusting. You really want someone handling your food who is capable of that?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Robert-Sahm/100000290906961 Robert Sahm

i would have taken a big dump on her front door never mind pissing. if your broke for a tip then your broke for the pizza lard ass

  • newstarshipsmell

    Did someone say “Mountain Dew?”

  • FrikkenFrak

I worked in several restaurants in my youth. And folks, I’m here to tell you employees DO shit like this. I witnessed it. Many times. So, next time you want to be a prick to your server, or screw them on the tip, remember this story.

  • newstarshipsmell

Congratulations, you’ve just guaranteed that @LeaveMeBe:disqus will never, ever stiff anyone.

FIRST of all, the delivery charge is not bullshit, SECOND $2 is a terrible tip!! If u tip 2 dollars u honestly suck at life. At the end of the night, my AVERAGE tip is between $4-5. If everyone tipped $2 with no delivery charge u would have to take 25 deliveries to make 50 bucks!! How much gas do u think someone would use on 25 deliveries!? Do the math, would u spend 6 hours of ur time to take 25 deliveries and make $50, minus say $15 for gas, that’s $35 u nitwits! Less than minimum wage! If everyone tipped 2 dollars, I’ll tell u now, there would be no delivery service and all u cheap fucks can go pick ur food up yourself! To the guy who pissed on the door, U ARE A HERO and thank u.

@luvshorror u are the definition of a person that everyone working in the service industry hates. U clearly know nothing about what its like to work in the service industry. Keep tipping like shit, karma is a bitch. Keep it up and someone will be pissing on ur door too. Better yet, I hope they shit on ur door

  • LeaveMeBe

I am always nice and polite until the bitter end. THEN I get revenge. I’ve never really had issues with a server, to be honest. I am way too smart to piss off anyone who handles my food and by being nice and funny is a good way to get people to treat you well. I was a waitress at a club on 6th street for a few months. Trust me, I know what we’re capable of. ;)

You are an idiot. I already said above that I tip 20%. I keep the table clean and tidy up after myself. I respect people who work in the service industry, and try to be an easy pleasant customer. So, I am saying Fuck You. And, if a person is capable of pissing or shitting on someone’s door, they don’t need to be working with food. And they do not deserve a tip. So go shit on your own door, you skeeze.

  • LuvsHorror

I don’t get this. Delivery or takeout, it doesn’t cost the pizza place anything extra, so why do they get to keep the delivery charge? The driver should get it, all of it.

  • LuvsHorror

She may have had a valid reason.

  • LuvsHorror

Oh, she had the two bucks. Pizza Hut took it. Should have gone to the driver.

  • http://www.dreamindemon.com Morbid

The price to make pizza has gone up, while frozen pizza makers have kept their prices down while getting close to the taste of delivery pizza. Instead of raising the price of the pizzas, the big pizza delivery companies added a “delivery charge” instead. This way none of them have to raise the price of their pizzas to be more expensive than their competitors.

Personally, I say that the pizza chains just raise their prices a buck and get rid of the fees.

    http://www.pizzamarketplace.com/article/112382/A-price-increase-is-the-answer-not-a-delivery-fee

  • LuvsHorror

Well yeah, it’s not like they get the extra delivery charge on eat in or carry out.

  • tip your driver

I deliver pizzas and we do get to know those that don’t tip. Ive worked in food most of my 21 working years and never worked with anyone who spit in or did something to somebodys food. I have heard stories though. If there is a known bad tipper most of the time they won’t get their order asap. We have 1 store and deliver well outside city limits in a town of 250k so most times we have more than 1 order to take and bad tips would be last even if they were the oldest of the orders. Besides that though more times than not it is the store operation fault if an order is late. In our case we have dine in and carry out also and store policy is to make those orders first before deliveries. When we are busy sometimes delivery orders are coming out of the oven when they are supposed to be at the destination. That is not the drivers fault and doesn’t deserve any less of a tip. I do make more hourly than a waiter but still far below minimum wage. If u think about it technically drivers risk their health everytime they do their jobs with all the morons on the road. And we deliver late also so we have the drunk drivers to deal with as well. I’m of the thinking that if you can’t tip for the service of having your food brought to you then you shouldnt order delivery in the first place. You can get much more for your money at the grocery store. I don’t agree with pissing on somebodys door but I have left trash on a lawn or driveway and if I know you don’t tip I will be blasting offensive music with my windows down when I pull in your driveway and maybe ring your doorbell a bunch of times rapidly.I don’t really care if you get pissed cuz I get nothing out of it anyways. That’s just my 2 cents

  • Sam

So not only do you practically DEMAND tips from EVERYbody, you also EXPECT up to 50% of a tip? I’m thinking maybe you’re not optimally suited for the customer service industry.

  • Andyman

Right but you really need to add some real cheese to that kit or else it doesn’t taste very good. Ok, it doesn’t taste very good either way but adding “real” cheese to the pizza makes it a lot better – so does adding pepperoni!

  • DudeMang

I think eating Pizza Hut is enough of a punishment for stiffing the driver.

  • Tanya Mobley

Hi guys. I work in a position that sadly must rely on tips so I’ll throw in 2 cents.
First: I get the anger over tipping with the asinine “delivery charge” but since I know that the company is NOT TURNING THAT OVER, then I choose to do what’s right.
Second: Really? He’s fired and that’s still not enough for you? Well having served I’ve met this ham beast MANY times over the past few years, she’s NEVER SATISFIED, hence her “Hambeast” Handle!!
Third:She’s thinking of calling around and seeing what he’s up to? I’m a bit sleep deprived but for me that’s code for “And I HOPE he doesn’t think he’s getting ANOTHER job because I”M going to call and follow and until he kills himself or I can sue Pizza Hut for enough Pizza to last forever then I’m NOT STOPPING”!!!
Am I bitter?? Oh FUCK YES!!
This Hungry Hungry Hippo is a common occurrence in the life of all service/ hospitality industry slaves!!!
But I’m ALSO truthful. This Grease Guzzler is everyone’s worst tipper that’s too lazy to fetch her own slop!! Bitter? Oh yeah!!!
I only wish I could give the dumb urinist a job AND have her contact me in reference to said job offer!

  • Kathryn

Don’t we all hope she gets kicked off welfare and forced to be a pizza delivery person and get $0 in tips?

  • BEastDuo

I always tip my service folk at least 15%, and you know what? My food is always fresh, hot and ball hair free. If you can’t afford a tip, don’t eat out, end of story.

“if you’re so broke you can’t afford to tip the driver then maybe your broke ass shouldn’t be ordering a goddamn pizza for delivery in the first place.” EXACTLY
