Father Wishes Daughter Would Have Killed Two Burglars Instead Of OneDALLAS , TX — – According to police, a woman opened fire on a pair of burglars who had broken into her home and only one of the burglars lived to talk about it.

According to the Dallas Police Department, 47-year-old Eric Ford and 19-year-old Isaiah Phillip Williams kicked in the front door of a home owned by Charles Brown. As they charged their way upstairs, they met Brown’s 21-year-old daughter who had been sleeping in an upstairs bedroom.

Before I go on, here’s a little background.  This house has been the target of burglars several times in the past. In Jan 2008, a car was stolen from the driveway, In Dec of that year, someone broke into the house and stole a CD player, diamond rings, necklaces and a digital camera.

In response to these burglaries, Brown taught his daughter how to shoot a gun and told her that it should the house alarm ever go off, be prepared. Seems as if his daughter was paying attention because when Ford and Williams met her, she was at the top of the stairs and had opened fire at them with a handgun she had armed herself with.

The two men immediately ran out of the house but Williams collapsed and died as a result of the brand new hole Brown’s daughter had given him. Police would find a car with paper plates at the scene, along with a gun that indicated at least one of the men was armed. Ford was later captured and charged with burglary.

Brown is proud of his daughter’s quick actions, but is worried about her mental state after having killed someone. “I don’t want her to be stressing about what she did to some thug that had a tendency to vandalize people and take something they didn’t work hard for,” Brown said. “I just hate that she didn’t get both of them.”

He added that he is working on moving out of the neighborhood.

I’m torn. On the one hand, she got the younger one, possibly ending a longer string of crimes over his remaining lifetime. On the other hand, he was more likely to change his criminal ways than the 47yo. Oh well, I guess instead of worrying over it, I should just take the dad’s attitude and regret she didn’t get them both, instead.

I’m having flashbacks to when we stayed in Oak Cliff (the area this happened) and our house was robbed :/ We got kick doored when I was like 11 or 12. It was fucking scary coz we just came home from church.
I’m glad we moved and it didn’t take my mom having our place broken into multiple times.
I hope the girl can get over this. I mean she’s fucking 21 FFS and she just killed someone even if it was in defense of her home thats still a heavy burden to bear.

  • Zibarro aka Kryssa

Can’t the surviving burglaturd be charged with the death of the other? Or is that only if an innocent person is killed in the commission of a crime?

Sorry the young woman has to carry this burden – but it’s a much better one than she or her father having been killed (or more) at the hands of these scumbags.

Charles Brown is the coolest guy I’ve read about in awhile.

  • Andyman

Thought just crossed your mind to move, ‘eh? After a car theft and previous home invasion no less. Hope he collapsed and died inside the house and if not that you dragged his ass back inside. Might also help if you didn’t shoot him in the back too from what I’ve heard anyway..

  • Sam

Good. Who knows what may have happened to her if the two of them, of which at least one had a gun, would have found her alone in a bedroom. Hopefully she can rationalise along the same lines, too, so this bastard burglar doesn’t end up ruining her life after all.

  • Sam

On the plus side, I don’t think she’ll ever have to worry about any future boyfriend making the mistake of getting her angry, or even annoyed.

  • kcjosh

He can most definitely be charged with the murder of his friend due to the fact that they were committing a felony in which someone died. Doesn’t matter whether it was an innocent victim or another perpetrating offender.

  • curiousalways

Ok I had to read that over and over about paper plates. I kept seeing some Dixie plates with a left over sandwich sitting on the dash board and trying to figure out how that was part of the story. Does someone want to send me home now?

  • darsa

    Hah! Me too! =D

  • Texas Ranger

Very reason I use hand grenades to protect my home…. kill everything in a 30 meter radius…. Plus, the best thing about them is that the clean up is minimal due to the “Pink-Mist Effect” of explosives.

  • tinalib13

Way to go girl! And way to go Dad for teaching his daughter how to take care of herself.

  • curiousalways

We can leave work together then!

  • Sam

So what you’re saying is – you live in a now pink house?

  • Athena

I don’t know how it is everywhere else, but here in Seattle, the good neighborhoods are the ones targeted for property crimes. In that sense, it almost seems safer to live in the hood. Of course, that’s counter-intuitive. I don’t blame him for not thinking to move until now. You can get yourself to a different area, but who’s to say it will be better?

  • newstarshipsmell

Sounds kind of impractical if the intruders manage to make it indoors. What’s your inside solution?

  • Andyman

That’s interesting, because it would seem to me that the suburbs would be safer than in town, the hood, etc. I’m in Charlotte, NC and you couldn’t pay me enough to live in (we call it) uptown. The fact that they have been repeatedly targeted is interesting to me in that, perhaps, those that continue to victimize these people might be the same ones to have done it previously. Perhaps there was a vendetta against a member of the family? Speculation for sure but it does makes me wonder.

  • ultracreep

Good for her! I hope she never feels a moment’s guilt, because not only did these men disregard an alarm, at least one of them had a gun and we’re clearly not dissuaded by the idea of getting caught by someone in the house. I think it was her or them and she did right. So glad dad got her armed and trained.

  • Texas Ranger

Inside solution: Coat of paint and a “For Sale by Owner” sign in the front yard

  • Texas Ranger

    No….”Pink-Mist” …..it’s a whole different color.

  • newstarshipsmell

Hahaha, I was expecting you’d say something like “shotgun” or “they wouldn’t make it inside” – even better than expected (as expected.)

  • Sam

Yeah… That’s like saying crisp snow instead of white. If anything, pink mist is worse for your macho rep…

  • newstarshipsmell

Let’s hope that instead of needing time with a therapist, she just needs more time on the gun range.

  • shadough

I too was stumped by the paper plates for a second. I was thinking, wha? BBQ?

  • JGo555

Fuck! The fucking crackhead lived and the one that could’ve been reformed died.

  • Lemont_Cranston

I kept thinking maybe the paper plates were cut into ninja stars??

  • http://www.facebook.com/kati.durden Kati Durden

He may have trouble unloading the home in this market, especially since it sounds like it is in a bad neighborhood. At this point of course he might just consider abandoning it, credit score to the wind…

  • Texas Ranger

Oh hell….I didn’t know I had a macho rep to keep up…in that case….Bitch get me a beer and change the tv channel and be snappy about it.

“Father Wishes Daughter Would Have Killed Two Burglars Instead Of One”

I guess by shooting just one burglar, she only got the cheap, funky, psychedelic drinking straw. This begs the question of how many burglars do you have to shoot before you get the big carnival, stuffed animal?

  • sam1211

I was thinking it ment they were sitting there for a long time? Eating dinner and watching and waiting?

  • joshua

    good riddance to bad rubbish

  • curiousalways

I wonder why someone gave a down vote on this. I was just cutting myself down, no one else. Weird.

  • sam1211

Hmmm ? People will down vote anything, I have some to on comments :p

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=606239068 Anthony Mandich

maybe the punishment doesn’t fit the crime in these burglaries where the burglar to be ends up getting shot and killed for entering someone’s dwelling other than their own but hopefully it serves as a deterrent to whoever is considering breaking into private residences and lets them know not to fucking fuck around with people’s shit. better to just stick with walmart man. seriously.

  • onlyme356

    Paper plates?

  • newstarshipsmell

I’m assuming that means either state-issued cardboard temporary plates, or the criminals literally printed fake license plates on paper and affixed them to the license plate mounts.

ETA: The source article states “Police cleared the area in front of the home at 7230 Concordia Lane, saying the suspect’s car had to be towed away. The vehicle had paper plates.” No more specific than the writeup.

  • Lisa Ann

The world needs more stories like this one!

  • Gee

Not sure where you are from but here in Los Angeles we take take Home invasions very seriously. This is not just a burglary they entered while some one was home. I’d say the punishment was fitting. Home invasion are often violent and result in death except this time it was the criminal instead of the victim. Good For her!

  • NCBrian

    Damn right Charlie Brown.
i’m not saying that stealing somebody’s stuff means you necessarily deserve to die – but she was well within her rights to kill them.

Someone doesn’t respect the sanctity of your home and possessions, why on Earth would you expect them to respect the sanctity of your body?

  • NCBrian

nah – most criminals are just lazy. it’s easier to steal than to work and earn.
