Man Charged With Murdering Teen Set To Testify Against HimCARROLLTON, TX - Police in Texas believe a man murdered a 16-year-old girl to keep her from testifying that he had raped her.

On Saturday, Shania Gray’s body was found in a secluded area near the Trinity River. She had been missing since Thursday after last being seen at Hebron High School in Carrollton. When trying to figure out who would want the teen dead, police wouldn’t have to look far.

Gray was set to testify against 30-year-old Franklin “Wish” Davis, a man for whom she used to babysit, and a man she had accused of raping her. Gray’s family stated that after asking the teen why she refused to babysit Davis’ two children any longer, Gray confided that he had raped her. They went to police and in July 2011 ,Davis was charged with four counts of sexual assault of a child.

But Davis says he is innocent and set out to prove the teen was lying. He created a fake Facebook profile, pretending to be a teenage boy who had a crush on Gray, that he used to gain Gray’s trust and find out what she planned to say in court. He then used a pre-paid cell phone to arrange a meeting with Gray after school last Thursday.

He told police that Gray was surprised when she saw him, but got in his car anyway when he said he just wanted to talk about the case against him. He says she noticed the pistol he was carrying and asked if he was going to hurt her. He told her no, and has since told reporters that he meant that.

“I needed to [do] some kind of footwork myself,” Davis told WFAA from jail. “I needed to get some kind of evidence, some kind of proof myself to show I did not have sex with her and that she’s lying. But I told her I wasn’t going to hurt her because I didn’t plan on hurting her. Those weren’t my intentions.”

But after driving to the Campion Trail, his plans changed. After getting her out of the car and leading her to the river’s edge, Davis shot her twice. After falling partially into the river, Gray reportedly asked “Why Wish?” before Davis dragged her out of the water and stood on her neck until she stopped breathing.

Police would lock on to Davis pretty quickly and on Saturday, Davis would admit to everything. He was charged with capitol murder and is being held in the Dallas Count jail on $2 million bond.

      Just to play the devil’s advocate: If he indeed did not rape her, but “only” shot her and then stood on her neck until she stopped breathing, he is still a low grade piece of shit that needs to leave society – NOW!

      He did this in Texas, where they use the death penalty correctly (though still not quickly enough). Just goes to show that the death penalty is not a good “deterrent”. But that’s not why I’m FOR the DP (heh… double penetration?)… it’s simply to take these fuckers out of society.

      While you’re in, Jail learn how to use ‘Replace’. Change ‘Robert Kennedy’ with your victim’s name. You should be out a day after your death. Also, since you’re in Texas, when you get out, you should apply sunscreen. A sunburned corpse isn’t pleasant to remember.

      It never ceases to amaze me how these idiots make a bad situation SO MUCH WORSE than it was going to be. If you’re going to destroy someone else’s life by a decision you make (his raping her), at least do everyone the favor / courtesy of just shooting yourself instead (or at least first.) Why the hell did she get in the car with him? Let alone after he showed her the gun? RIP Shania.

      I believe he is eligible for the needle, for the fact that since she was a witness(victim) and had a trial and he killed the witness(victim). I cannot think of the term right now but @Athena would you please help me here and provide the term that is escaping me. Please tell me I am correct and he is eligible for the needle.

      This story really hits too close to home for me. There was a case here where I live a few months back where a man from MO drove up here to find a 15-year-old female relative who he raped and she and her mother pressed charges. He ended up killing a 59-year-old daycare owner (another family member) and her elderly parents!

      I am pro death penalty, but if you need proof that it is not a deterrent to criminals committing homicide, look no further than the state of Texas. They cook them up quick over there and it doesn’t prevent a damn thing.

      It will have to be pre-meditated. He created a fake Facebook page, he got a prepaid cell phone, he got gun and ammo. He tricked her after school. Kidnapping, perverting the course of justice, subornation, murder in the first. I don’t know if the rapes can be included because the victim now cannot testify, but the POS admitted to the rapes and admitted to witness tampering. If anyone needs the needle here in Texas, he does.

      witness tampering along with hindering investigation and if the prosecutor is good enough and enough of a dick they could argue that the murder happened in conjuction with the original felony rape and therefore make a capitol murder case out of it. which i would if i was them because i that much of a dick.
