Police Accuse Man Of Beating Toddler To Death Because She Soiled HerselfINDIANAPOLIS, IN –  A man charged with the murder of a 3-year-old girl has admitted to beating the girl to death because she had soiled herself.

Last Tuesday, police were called to a home where they found 21-year-old Jose Cruz hysterical and his girlfriend in a bedroom with her 3-year-old daughter, Carmen. Police say the girl was not breathing and was “covered in bruises from head to toe.” She was rushed to the hospital and placed on a ventilator, but Carmen was pronounced dead on Wednesday. A medical evaluation determined the girl’s bruises were the result of beings struck with a flexible object, and that she had blunt force trauma to the abdominal area.

Cruz, who was initially arrested on preliminary charges of attempted murder, told investigators that he became upset over the fact that Carmen had soiled herself. In response, he says he beat Carmen with a brown leather belt, shook her, pulled her hair and threw her into a television. Police would later retrieve a brown leather belt from the home as well as a black power cord.

This isn’t the first time Cruz has been accused of abusing Carmen. Back in July, someone called police after seeing what they thought was bite marks on the girl’s face, and bruises on her body. No arrests were made at that time, but police did notify Department of Child Services who confirmed they’d had recent contact with the family. No charges have been filed against Carmen’s mother, but the investigation is still underway. An infant that was in the home has been placed in protective custody.

Yet another baby that probably never knew a day of peace in her life. Some days, it’s just too much to bear.

  • laurablue87

Another dumb ass “mom” who let’s a scumbag knuckle-dragging mouth-breather have his way with her kid. Great. Who are these sad excuses for mothers?! The only beating that goes on when my kid soils herself is my head into a wall because, seriously, the kid poos like a Mexican buffalo. The smell is vomit-inducing and the mess is never ending. But not so much so that I fly into a violent murderous rage. Some people just shouldn’t have kids. Obviously.

  • Wolf_of_Mars

And yet another case of a so-called mother choosing the house-penis over her precious children… WTF is wrong with both of these sorry, sad, syphilitic asshats? Mom should have stuffed a boot in his ass long before he had the chance to kill her toddler. The incident in July should at the very least have been a wake-up call.
Him? There’s just no explaining him & his actions! How do you get that angry over the natural bodily functions of a 3-year-old? That kind of brain-function fairly boggles my mind.

  • blubberdong

When Bubba starts hammering his ass with an angry sandpaper fist, he’ll understand what it’s like to be incontinent. I see some prison-issued diapers in this fuckwad’s future.

The department of child services needs a huge overhaul. Fucking a Christ.

  • EBenes

It is stories like this that make me wish heaven were a real thing. I can’t imagine what this girl’s life was like and it is just not fair she had to suffer like this. There needs to be a special prison zoo for people like this guy where we can go in for free and abuse him all day long. Maybe with his own belt?

  • JGo555

Of course a spanking is going to magically clean the mess the TODDLER made!

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

Pout a little harder, asshole. Beating a kid with potty issues just makes more fucking issues, dumbass.

  • Athena

There’s no evidence that they’ve dropped the ball in this case, though. If it’s true that they’ve had recent contact with the family, that’s pretty much all they can do if no charges were ever filed and there’s not fresh evidence of abuse.

  • Athena

My little one tinkled in the toilet for the first time, yesterday. She’s pooped in the toilet several times, but pee has been elusive. Often, she’ll poop, say she’s done, so we clean her up only for her to run out of the bathroom before she’s got a diaper on and pee on the carpet. No matter what, though, I can’t imagine feeling anything more than a little grossed out by it. Angry enough to beat a child to death? It would have happened one way or the other with this waste of space.

In the article it is said that “This isn’t the first time Cruz has been accused of abusing Carmen. Back
in July, someone called police after seeing what they thought was bite
marks on the girl’s face, and bruises on her body.” I would say that recent events would warrant that indeed someone did indeed drop the proverbial ball. I guess that bite marks and bruises were normal for this particular household.

I agree with you because if there is a heaven, then there is eternal torment. That is where this particular person needs to be going. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

  • kimbev69

she had bite marks on her reported earlier…that were reported

  • kimbev69

funny cause most of my friends kids pee no problem but the poop is elusive…my daughter who will be 3 in October is still in denial that she even poops … ugh! she used the potty before she was 1 and by the time she was 2 used it like 7 times…once she wanted to “poo” but not in front of me…she has a potty outside her bedroom door and asked me to go in her room and close the door…so i did..i saw her little feet under the door and kept telling her to go sit on the potty…welllllll 2 seconds later she is screaming…i open the door and she pooped on the floor and her foot…since then she denies…lol ugh

it would be fun to beat him to death.

I am seriously lol! My toddler somehow pooped with his legs shut, stepped in it, then smeared it all over the toilet. I didn’t beat him, I took pictures to blackmail him with later, then gave him a shower and cleaned it up.

  • Shar G’z

No worries he’s probably in Marion County getting HIS ASS beat as we type!!

  • Athena

I wish people read my comments as well as they read these articles. :P “No arrests were made at that time, but police did notify Department of
Child Services who confirmed they’d had recent contact with the family.”

I don’t know what you folks think CPS can and can’t do, but they cannot
swing in and take kids away based solely on suspicion. The fact that
charges weren’t filed back in July suggests that there was a lack of
evidence as to who caused the bite marks. This means it would be a very difficult case for CPS to state to a judge… and it is the judge – not CPS – that determines whether or not a child will be removed from the home.

Unfortunately, because we have protocol and constitutional protections, authorities cannot save every child. It doesn’t mean anyone but those directly responsible for that child dropped the ball.

  • tinalib13

    We can only hope.

  • tinalib13

My son also pooped in the potty, but peeing was an issue so we made a game out of it. We’d put cheerios in the toilet so he had targets. We had a sticker chart too for a pee well done. Once we got him doing both in the potty, he started wetting the bed at night. He did this through kindergarten, and it was frustrating, but the doctor told us that often kids’ bladders don’t fully develop until then. This mother is the one who “dropped the ball”, not the CPS, by letting this mother fucking bastard touch her child. Btw, I always read your comments fully because they’re well thought out and very informational. :-)

  • wyrosjr

Congratulations, we just quit buying diapers for our youngest.

  • kimbev69

Lmao too funny blackmail, good wedding collage pic lol

  • kimbev69

I mean all u can do is grin n bear it that’s what being a parent is! It burns me up how many children this age are abused to death each yr during potty training because a person feels they are ready when they want them to be

  • JohnQknowitall

Arrest the mother for leaving the girl with this monster. There must be some child endangerment charge she is guilty of committing.

  • Martin Huizing

I’m a kindergarten level teacher in China (don’t even know what I’m doing here) and I can’t imagine hurting any of my kids. Any kid in my class soiling him/herself will be met with a confidence boost from me instead of a scolding. I presume the kid here in question soiled herself out of fear more than anything else. My heart breaks for her. Rest in piece you beautiful little angel…

  • Canuck Gramz

Poor little mite! I will never ever understand how someone can hurt a child like that!! There is never a good reason to do with this useless piece of garbage did, but to beat a child for pooping their pants?? That’s a normal part of toddlerhood. In fact I’d say this monster was probably what caused her to be so stressed out that she had an accident!

  • Canuck Gramz

I did the cheerios thing when my boys were little! It improved their aim! We did have a few unpleasant incidents when my oldest daughter kept trying to pee like a boy. We sure didn’t spank her for it! I felt bad that experience had to be her teacher in that case.

  • Canuck Gramz

LOL I can picture you running to get the camera!

  • http://www.facebook.com/BigBWolf Duran Lanier Morgan

Does it need to be said? I am absolutely sickened by what this waste of space has done… at that age, children are still learning to properly use the bathroom; of course, sometimes, they messed themselves, but it is NOT supposed to evoke that reaction from an adult, especially an adult who is not biologically-related to the child. Lock his immature ass up, let him shit himself out of fear in being in general population with murders, rapists, etc. and see what happens when they find out he beat a little girl to death over something she had no control over.

Also, mothers like this piss me off… rather than protect their child, they stand by and let the violence happen. As with everyone else here on D’D, I want to read/hear her story…

  • http://www.facebook.com/naomi.luciano.18 Naomi Luciano

My mind can’t even function around why people beat the kids for not making it to the potty…so many more stories have been comming out with the same reason and result its almost as if they look for any excuse to put their hands( in this case belts ) on a child who is still learning…

  • tinalib13

Lol she gets an A+ for effort from me!

  • http://www.facebook.com/clayton.knudsen1 Clayton Knudsen

@Athena, I apologize profusely. I have a very jaded view of CPS in general. A point of view from BOTH sides of the aisle. I grew up under the threat of removal by CPS from my parents, then later from the other side as foster(and luckily adoptive) parents. I can and have seen CPS work wonders with children or do nothing when abuse was prevalent. The CPS worker is the eyes of the state to investigate and report to the judiciary. [If the eyes are blind, nothing gets reported] I wish I could go into our history of the trials and tribulations with our workers. Anyway, here is my apology to you and thank you for your reporting to us for DD.

  • http://www.facebook.com/naomi.luciano.18 Naomi Luciano

Smart parents get pullups while potty traing if children arent yet ready to depend on underwear and if money was the issue or they didn’t want to buy disposable pullups then they cant be pissed at the child for having an accident…i hope he gets his ass owned just for looking at some one the wrong way..

  • Athena

Thank you, but the apology was entirely unnecessary, and I’m sorry if I led you to believe otherwise. The CPS screws up all the damn time… which, strangely enough, is why I believe we should reserve our scorn of them for the times that there is evidence of a screw up. This isn’t one of them, in my opinion, although there are plenty.

  • Isaac Cros

I guess he didnt get the memo…..shit like that happens with young kids and some adults as well. That fart you think you are passing is a little moist. No plea bargain, give his ass the death penalty

  • chris

EXACTLY!!! we didnt use pullups with our son because he treated them like diapers so we fully expected him to have lots and lots of accidents ( which he did at first. ALOT!!! this one time he pooped in his scooter bucket…..) its not a big deal! soap and water for the kid, some disinfectant or bleach for whatever got pooped on and thats that! that guy is a freaking monster!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Cindy-Crawford/13964421 Cindy Crawford

Yet another poor kid who CPS failed miserably! Ummmm….aren’t bite marks on the face a HUGE RED FLAG not to return a child to the care of these scumbag assholes?

  • melody lapier

She had bite marks and bruises. If that’s not evidence of abuse then what is? She was in the custody of her mother. The infant in the home didn’t bite and bruise her. God, I guess children have to be beaten to death before there’s enough evidence to do something. Then its too little, too late.

  • Athena

The police and CPS save far more children than they don’t. If charges weren’t filed in the previous case, there was likely a very good reason.

  • http://www.facebook.com/JennyLane1031 Jennifer N Ryan Lane

the mother probably knew the abuse was going on too, ughhh bitches these days needing a man enough to allow them to abuse their children.

  • Aussie Sabbath

Is that a meth sore on his face?
