Man Charged With Sex Crimes After Running A Train On A Carnival Cruise Ship

ORANGE COUNTY, FL – A Florida man has been accused of participating in the gang rape of a 15-year-old girl on a Carnival cruise ship.

Casey Dickerson, 31, was arrested on a federal sex charge after he and several teenage boys allegedly raped the girl in Dickerson’s cabin on the Carnival Sensation last weekend. According to the FBI, Dickerson was on the cruise with his wife where he and four other teenage boys got a 15-year-old so drunk that she was unable to stop the train they ran on her.

According to the complaint, the victim said that she had went to Dickerson’s cabin with her friend and four teen boys. After being given alcohol, Dickerson and the teens took turns sexually assaulting her while her friend was held inside a bathroom. She said that while she was being assaulted on the floor of the cabin while wearing only a bra, someone knocked on the door and one of the boys answered it. After the person who knocked at the door left, Dickerson and the teens continued their sexual attacks — even telling each other to “switch” into different positions.

After the group had finished with her and she was allowed to get dressed, the victim’s friend was allowed out of the bathroom. The victim reported the incident and was given medical assistance on the ship. Carnival immediately notified the FBI.

When the FBI questioned the teens who allegedly took part in the attack, they said Dickerson gave alcohol to the victim and her friend, getting the victim so drunk she could not resist the attacks. When Dickerson was questioned, he stated he had sex with many women on the ship, but he did not have sex with the victim. He says he did give the teens alcohol, but that he had gotten drunk and passed out before anything sexual took place.

A judge deemed Dickerson a danger to the community and ordered he be held at the Orange County Jail until his trial. The other boys admitted to having sex with the girl but have not been charged as federal prosecutors have to get permission from the Attorney General in order to file charges against juveniles. The more you know, right?

I don’t know how many of you have been on cruises before, but I have been on several. The gang rape of a juvenile has never been on my itinerary, but the fact that it happens is not too surprising to me. From what I observed, parents on these cruises let their children, of all ages, roam about the ship freely, and unsupervised — lulled into a false sense of security by all the tourist trappings that hide the fact that these cruise ships are not much more than seedy hotels that float. I had fun, even though I thought the Bahamas sucked. Cozumel was much better.

I felt like the cruise I was on was more like a mall for the teens, but the parents do view it as a vacation from EVERYTHING, including their child care duties. At least when parents send their kids to the mall, they pick them up after a few hours to make sure they are okay. I guess since the “mall” on a cruise doesn’t close until 2AM, they aren’t getting the parent-child check-in method of supervision.

Not sure if you’ve seen this on other message boards, but most of the comments have been asking where the GIRLS’ parents were. Where the hell were the BOYS’ parents?

As a parent….I’ve never been intrigued about cruises. There are so many crime stories associated with them and I’m THAT parent who is overprotective (but hey, my kids are still alive!)..I’d be a nervous wreck. I would be scared to walk anywhere alone. There’s just no way I’d feel safe on open water.

Fail all around here. Her parents should have been keeping a better eye on her, the teen rapists’ parents should have kept a better eye on them, and Mrs. Dickerson needs to buy her rapist husband a fucking chastity belt, preferably one crossed with an iron maiden that spikes his child-raping dick in place.

Those cruises, it seems like, advertise a lot of supervision and activities for kids, so I can see how parents might take a break from them*. But damn, you’ve got to check in with the kids every couple of hours.

*This comes from the perspective of someone who isn’t really interested in having kids or spending time with them. I know I’d just be trying to get away as much as possible, but I’d still understand that you have to keep track of your kids with a face-to-face check-in at least. Damn.

But apparently some people figure that what happens on board, stays on board – right up until the point where the authorities arrive on the scene at the next port.

There is no drinking age in international waters so huge fail on the parents for not watching their daughters. I was 14 when I took my first cruise (with my parents) and I ran into the only other kid close to my age (I think he was 18) and we went to the bar and I had one of every kind of beer I could think of. Until I got to about a 6 pack and was bombed. My point is, even though these thugs gave them the alcohol, even if they hadn’t – they still could have gotten it easily themselves and gotten in similar trouble. I.E., We flooded the bathroom. oops.

Princess and P & O are all right, but Carnival that actually owns the other two are for teens and young adults , whereas Princess is more for the retired. Carnival is more lax with teens as nearly anything goes, especially drinking. I remember on one Princess cruise the Captain would not allow loud music after 10 because he said most the people were in bed by that time. and he is right. The Casino and nightclub stay open.

I have been on seven cruises ,and enjoyed them all.From Alaska to the Mediterranean and to Australia from Chicago etc etc. BUT……I am over 50. The kids on board “Princess” , are in the kids club (no adults allowed), and you never see them. They can go to dinner with their parents or have their own childrens menu and are supervised well. I was on one cruise where two teenagers let off some fireworks below deck. No ifs or buts….they and the families were off at the next port.

You wouldn’t believe the # of women who just go into denial mode when their penis does something like this. My ex husband was arrested Chris Hansen-style and his second wife did the same thing. She went on the news demanding to see proof. To her credit though, once she was shown the proof, she dropped him like a bad habit. His grandmother still swears up and down that he was set up. I think sometimes people have a hard time admitting to themselves that their loved one is a monster.
