Teen Charged With The Rape Of Girlfriend’s 15-Month-Old

Ravenna Township, OH - A grand jury indicted an 18-year-old on two counts of rape yesterday after he was accused of raping his girlfriend’s 15-month-old daughter.

Earlier this month, 18-year-old Logan Andrew West was accused of raping his girlfriend’s 15-month-old baby, causing her serious internal injuries, and was charged with two felony counts of rape of a child under the age ten.

On August 4, EMS were called to a home in regards to an injured 15-month-old. Because of the severity of the injuries, the infant was transported to the hospital where it was determined the injuries were the result of a sexual assault. She was treated and released to her mother on August 6.

The following investigation revealed that West was one of several people at the home at the time of the assault. After cooperating with investigators, he was arrested and charged with raping the infant.

During his first arraignment West appeared before the judge, via video, wearing protective garb worn by inmates who are at risk of harming themselves. He was ordered held on a half a million dollars cash-only bond. The judge also ordered West to have no contact with the alleged victim or her mother “in the unlikely event he makes bond.”

If West is convicted of the charges against him, he is looking at mandatory prison time and a possible life sentence. He would also have to register as a sex offender in Ohio.

It always reminds me why the women of my family always kept an eye on their men. I know it’s an unfair generalization to think they were all capable of doing it but mind you, the women of my family come from the Dominican Republic, and I figure they’ve seen enough to avoid disasters like these.

One of the comments in the source article claims the household is a bunch of heroin addicts, including the mother and boyfriend, which makes me wonder how long it took the “several people at the home at the time of the assault” to report the injury. Source only mentions EMS being called to the house on Aug 4, but not when the assault took place.

Here’s to hoping this mom’s kids get a better shot at life from here on out.

I read this article on a skim and thought how awful that a 15 year old was raped. Guess my mind filled in what was way beyond my scope of reality. How in the hell do you rape a toddler without causing permanent life threatening injuries? How the fuck can someone even think that a child even looks sexual? Have you ever heard of protective custody? I agree that IF inmates get their hands on these offenders they get some payback but the reality is, offenders sign themselves into PC more often than not and live safe and sound behind bars. Then they are free to re-offend when they get released.

I watched some thing some where and a nurse from an ER said they rape babies because it’s tight. I know — fucking disgusting. And normally they place their hands over the babies face/mouth and push them down into the bed or whatever which in some cases kills them or causes head injuries. I am glad the news reporters didn’t sugar coat and use PC language. maybe more people will wake up if the media starts telling it in an honest way “accused of raping a baby” makes it much more clear what he actually did rather than “accused of assault of a minor ” and “special circumstances” maybe if more media outlets followed the “in your face” style as seen here and a couple other places I frequent, people will wake up and see the Monsters for what they truly are.

You have to keep an eye on everybody, but I read something yesterday (I don’t think it was on here) that said that it is 4% of women (as opposed to 96% of men) that are sexual abusers. So with those odds, you would be safer being more watchful over them than the women. However, I try not to ever let that cloud my judgement when trusting anyone with my children.

Of course it’s about being horny. Violent rape is often also about control, but it is sexually-motivated and sexually-gratifying, which means “horny” plays a huge part. If it was just about being in control, any other form of assault would do.

We must remember that it is a small percentage of men who do things like this (even if it’s an even smaller percentage of women) and that, like you suggested, sound judgment must be used against all individuals. There are few reliable shortcuts. And being focused on the males will quickly betray you if there is a female wolf among you.

I just watched a video the other day of a CT scan of what someone’s internal organs look like during sex. There’s a lot of moving around and it looks kind of painful.
