Mother Shot To Death After Confronting Speeding Driver

Mobile, AL – A 40-year-old mother of two was gunned down in front of her home Saturday after she confronted a group of men in a car speeding through her neighborhood.

The dark gray or green Honda Civic or Altima with dark, tinted windows drove down Racine Avenue Saturday afternoon and almost hit Wendy Fisher’s dog as they sped past her home. Angry, Fisher yelled at the driver who stopped the car about 30 yards away.

Fisher’s teen daughter, who witnessed the entire incident, say that at that point a black man with short hair got out of the car and someone opened fire on her mother, striking her several times in the chest.

She isn’t sure if the man who got out of the car was the shooter or one of the two or three men inside the vehicle. The man got back in the car and fled the scene, leaving Fisher to die. She was still conscious after being shot, but was in shock. Fisher was rushed to the hospital but would die from her injuries.

No arrests have been made at this time, but police are actively looking for the men involved. Police want to remind the people in the car who did not shoot Fisher that since the shooting probably wasn’t planned, they may not face charges if they come forward now. But if they don’t, and the police find them first, they could be charged as accomplices to first-degree murder.

Fisher’s daughter said her mother has raised her and her teen brother alone since their father died from a drug-related incident 6 or 7 years ago. They had only been living on Racine Avenue for a few months. Fisher had recently lost her job as a bartender and was taking graphic design classes in hopes of changing careers.

Neighbors say the issue of drivers speeding through their neighborhood has become all too common and that because of Fisher’s death, they plan on starting a community watch group like one that was created in a nearby neighborhood.

Anyone who has information about the shooting is asked to call Mobile police at 251-208-7211, CrimeStoppers at 251-208-7000 or text 274637 (CRIMES) with the keyword CRIME 411.

The fact that there are cars full of people driving around who think nothing of killing somebody who dared say something that narked them scares the living daylights out of me. It’s such a natural reaction to shout abuse at some car that almost hit you, too. I’m betting the shock she was in after the shooting was only partially adrenaline induced, and partially ‘WTF??’

It’s because of this sort of shit that made me rethink giving people the finger while driving. I had an incident with a fucking loon because I gave her the finger for cutting me off. That was a few years ago. I have a lot to lose and I’ll be damned if I leave my kids without a mother. My husband is a good guy but he would end up marrying some dumb ass chick right away and my kids would be the ones to suffer.

I am always suspicious of cars with tinted windows. They seem to be the very rich or very ghetto like personalities that get them. Something says drugs and gangs here, and my bet is that no one in the car dares come forward with information.

I am reminded of a guy, reported on DD, who had a speed bump put on his street only to be shot to death by an asshole neighbor. Can’t find the link. I don’t really have a problem with public cams everywhere.

My ex husband used our car safety device (similar to another story I mentioned) on a guy who flipped him off and then followed him off the freeway after my ex return the finger salute. Broke his windshield and drivers side window. But ex also had a gun pulled on him on the fwy after flipping off a guy for cutting him off. Turn the other cheek and get back to your family safely is my lesson learned from both of those incidents.

Someone waved a knife at me after one incident. I’ve also had so many people get out of their cars at red lights to scream at me that I’ve lost count. Since my kids I’ve done my best to behave myself, but tailgaters piss me off. Actually everyone pisses me off. Oh, and I admit to raging out and screaming back at some fat old guy that said he was going to “beat my ass”. I literally screamed so loud my throat hurt the entire day “GET THE FUCK OUT OF YOUR CAR YOU FAT FUCK AND TRY IT!” But he did not try it. He immediately turned down a side street and sped away. I’m actually amazed no one ever shot me.

I worry as well about my children. The youth of this country seem to have something missing inside. I’m not talking about a “oh kids today!” type of complaint because I don’t like their hair or music. I think they’re really truly fucked in the head and in the soul. My neighbors for instance are MAD that the cops came and shut down their bullshit loud ass parties. I actually never called the cops on the douchenozzles. They can’t even conceive that someone else would have a problem with it. I wouldn’t have even cared except it was like EVERY OTHER NIGHT AND I LIKE TO SLEEP. And like more than half the houses surrounding mine have people that are family and/or friends with each other. So they’re all being a bunch of cunts.

The people across the street have a bunch of kids. One of their sons is really fat and for some reason they’ve goaded him into harassing me about my weight and yelling sexually inappropriate things while the “adults” laugh. Just fucked in the head people.

When I lived at the university, I always carried my water bottle and if someone almost ran me over or something similar I would throw it at them. Ended up throwing it at least 3 times. Once, I hit the back glass of a car that did stop but then it kept on going. Pretty dumb I know.

Me too, I drive the same way. I usually ignore my rearview(except for cursory glances) because It will just make you angry if people are tailgating. It’s a good idea to me to just ignore the drivers and watch the cars. Kind of like watching the ball in sports.

I agree and I fear this disease doesn’t have a cure. I also refuse to allow my little one’s to watch or listen any of that garbage, but my biggest fear is when they’re away from home (in school or at camp) as other parents don’t see this as an issue and allow their kids to do as they please. I remember growing up.. If you didn’t watch a show or played the most graphic or violent video game you weren’t included in the conversation or be part of the group which seemed cooler as they got to do whatever they wanted. For the most part, I didn’t a shit what they thought. I just knew there was no way in hell my folks would allow me to go against their wishes. Hopefully I can pass that (knowledge/fear) to them..

My take on this:
1. The shooter has gotten away with many, many crimes without punishment in the past, allowing for the brazen action pulled off in broad daylight.
2. The shooter did this for the benefit of the others in the car. The crime has everything to do with that…establishing reputation and hierarchy within that group.
3. Finally, no one in that car will ever talk to the cops. This is a “no snitch” culture we’re dealing with.

We have a problem with oldies driving at 15 mph ,everywhere they go. If they stop and you tell them what the speed limit is,they say”I have never had an accident”. But I hate to see the number of accidents behind them from people made to pass when very angry.
I tend to ignore them but then my wife leans across and blows the horn. If anyone stopped to pumble someone I bet I would be the one to get it…..damn
