Jose Baez Thinks Casey Anthony Is A Wackjob, Nobody Is Shocked

Orlando, FL - Yeah, we knew that was coming. Defense attorney Jose Baez has written a new book, Presumed Guilty: Casey Anthony: The Inside Story, in which he posits that (surprise!) Casey Anthony is a nutjob. Can I get a “well, DUH,” up in here?

In case you’ve been living in an Amish family (or a cave), Casey Anthony is the mother of Caylee Marie Anthony, the adorable toddler who was reported missing on July 15, 2008. Caylee had actually been missing since June 9 of the same year, and was found dead several months later, duct tape wrapped around her skull, a creepy heart sticker over what remained of her mouth.

Casey was charged and acquitted of first-degree murder in one of the great travesties and tragedies of the Florida judicial system last year. The case broke our servers and doubled our membership, and there may have been a pizza incident that landed us on Fox News, so, y’know, it’s close to my heart.

Now, Casey’s defense attorney is just gonna keep on defending his client, yammering on about how no sane person does the things that Casey did. I can’t really argue with that – it takes a special breed of antisocial personality to lose your kid and gain a couple of boyfriends, go clubbing and post the pics to the internet, and get a poorly done tattoo, all while your child rots in the woods.

But Baez goes on (and on, for 421 pages) about how Casey was freaked out by her father’s alleged sexual abuse. In some detail, I’m told, though I refuse to spend money on the book. Jose also trots out the defense theory that Caylee drowned in the pool and George Anthony disposed of the body, because that’s what good daddies do when they’re not molesting you.

Personally, I’m curious. Does Jose Baez believe the crap he’s spouting, or is he just trying to make three years of back salary off his client? I hope it’s the latter. But just in case, there’s a stack of Dreamin’ Demon Brand vomit bags in the corner. Get you one if you’re planning to read his book. Then let me know, in the comments, how much it sucked.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Plenty of us have been sexually abused by relatives and could most likely be diagnosed as nutjobs by both professional and armchair psychologists, but those of us who have been through that and have children of our own generally raise them to be healthy, happy, alive, and unabused.

In my armchair psychologist’s opinion, she’s a pure sociopath, and the only cure for that is lead therapy. One dose in the right area generally cures it, but other doses may be administered, just to make sure the treatment is effective.

Too many books out there and too little time to read them for me to buy this book. It’s a tragedy when a child dies. That said, I couldn’t care less about Casey Anthony or even about if she is guilty or innocent. Justice had it’s shot, if they blew it then they blew it.

The craziest thing about this whole case to me was how BIG it got. I mean really, after reading D’D for the past couple of years, this case is seriously “mediocre” compared to some of the shit that happens in this country. I mean, why didn’t the family-invasion pyromaniacs in New England get this kind of coverage? THAT was a MUCH worse story than this one (forgive me Caylee… but it was). There have been many. That’s why I’m so amazed at how the entire nation (and fucking Nancy Grace) was involved in this particular “ordinary” murder case.

Well, not so much a failure of the justice system as it was a failure of the prosecution to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she was guilty of the charges. I’m not sure what counts as reasonable doubt to a Floriduh jury, but that’s what got her acquitted.

I’m also pretty certain that Baez got her off in more ways than one.

the new england case you mentioned, it’s not interesting for me, just really makes me feel horrible reading about it, and scared that at any moment something like that could happen to my family. I’m sure main stream media didn’t latch onto that like they did this, because it was a real life horror movie. I imagine it would be a little harder to sell advertising during a marathon of a real life horror story dramatizations and descriptions… I mean with the Caylee story, people were hoping that this little girl would be brought home safely at first… then they wanted justice, then they found that Casey probably did it, and they were even more pissed off… The new england murders you were talking about has none of those elements… just pure terror, no guessing about who did it or if there would be justice. nothing to engage people in conversation about what the fuck those inbred juries in florida are thinking, nothing to disagree on whatsoever. all you can do is shake your head and be a little scared in your home at night.

there were no new developments in the new england murders since that horrible night. nothing to keep people coming back. you just read about it once and that’s all there is to it. I guess that’s what I think made the Caylee Anthony story so much bigger than the new england murders.

Now that he won the case he wants to talk shit about Casey Anthony, everything comes down to him wanting to make money. That bitch is guilty & should have been found guilty. Casey Anthony as far as I know got away with murder, now she’s free and her lawyer is trying to make money writing a book about the murder of this innocent child. Jose Baez needs to stop being a dirty ass lawyer trying to gain fame and money over this poor child tragedy. Casey Anthony is going to get punished sooner or later, I just hope she suffers a lot. Would you all shut up? The jury found her not guilt and that was it. The jury was normal citizen like you and me that probably expressed the same amount of discontentment towards her as we did. But after hearing both sides of the story and evidences (unlike you Nancy Grace viewers), they found her not guilty. And someone trying to profit out of all this makes my blood boils. The point of the book isn’t to tell what happened to Caylee. The point of the book is to show, from the defense attorney’s pov, what happened and how the police and prosecution screwed up from the very beginning. So far it is a good read and very interesting.

As for people making a quick buck off a dead girl, Nancy Grace and almost every major news outlet would be in that camp over the man who defended the most hated, vilified woman in recent memory, and won. If you think they kept reporting on that case because they gave a shit about Caylee and did it for any other reason but readershipviewers, then you are fooling yourself.
