Caretaker Charged After Handicapped Woman Found On Porch Eating Dirty Diaper

Statesville, NC – A woman has been charged with neglect after the mentally handicapped woman she was hired to care for was left alone on a back porch for hours, and was found eating garbage.

Whitney Hill, 24, was arrested on Monday after she left a mentally disabled woman alone on her back porch for seven hours. Neighbors called police after noticing the handicapped woman had been left alone the porch and was observed eating garbage that included a dirty diaper.

Speaking of chowing down on a full diaper, anyone else remember the simple joy of being handed a bowl of leftover brownie mix when you were a kid? I still like cleaning the bowl whenever I make brownies–no need to let that weed go to waste–but it just isn’t the same.

Anyway, when police arrived at the apartment and spoke with Hill’s boyfriend, they learned Hill was spending the day with a friend. Hill was employed by M & M of the Carolinas to care for the woman, but was not authorized to take the woman from the home. So it seems as if Hill just left the woman on her porch and left for the day.

Police say that the woman was physically ill from ingesting the garbage and had to be taken to the hospital. She was later released to her mother. Hill was arrested on Monday and charged with felony neglect of the disabled with injury. A spokesperson for M & M of the Carolinas says they have since fired Hill.

One thing I know about Hill, aside from her being a terrible caretaker, is that she did not read D’D. Had she been a reader of the site, she could have possibly hired Eric Allison or Dillon Makuski to babysit the woman while she was out. She may not have avoided these charges, but at least the poor woman wouldn’t have been found with a mouthful of baby shit and a diaper stuck to the side of her head.

The worst part of this for me is that she left her locked outside like a fricking dog. I mean, if you are going to be a piece of shit and take off and leave an old handicapped woman on her own couldn’t you at least lock her IN the house so she could I don’t know watch tv or lay down or something . The thing i miss most, but it was already missing before the new format, is that you can’t see who liked what comment anymore – it’s just a number now. I don’t particularly have a problem with the new format, it just takes a little getting used to. We’re human – we’re programmed not to like change, right? Although it does seem to throw a hissyfit if your browser is even slightly on the old side. Maybe that’s what has people in a tizz – forced upgrading of browser software?

Pictures cannot be added. Comments, before completed, disappear/delete while continuing to type. I have to continuously relogin and then wait a minute or so (there is no page progress indicator in the url indicating the delay is not with DD). When I post I must hit the post button several times. Nested comments do not indicate at glance to whom the comment directed- you have to hover over the word “parent.” BTW this is on both PCs and Macs, and I have been consciously typing comments as to make sure I have not hit a key by accident.

You can paste image links into your comments and they’ll preview below your comment/popup in a new tab. You just can’t upload images directly from your computer anymore. So that adds an extra step of hosting it somewhere else first. Not sure if/how the update affected the YouTube previews, as I haven’t tried one.

I liked the old one better as well.And that down arrow needs to go – if someone dislikes a comment all they need to do is not check off that they liked it. Some people on here are just straight up Haters and due to not liking a particular person will check the down arrow on everything that person comments regardless of content.

Hey, give Disqus credit for at least being smaert enough to prevent users from double-posting the same comments, especially since their new code seems to suck at displaying what you just posted when it’s a thoroughly-nested reply. Thankfully, all you have to do is scroll up and click “Discussion?” at the top, and select “Oldest” (or whatever sort-order you prefer) and the comments should refresh with what you just posted visible. I actually like the new setup since you don’t have to refresh the entire page just to reload the newest comments.

I don’t hink Morbid would give a shit if it was aimed at him, but seeing as he owns/moderates the DD and not Disqus, these changes have nothing to do with him anyway. I mean, it’s not like he’s a god or anything. And I kinda like the new format, especially the ability to “down” a comment. I do still miss knowing who “liked” my comments and I wish we could see now who “disliked” our comments (or others). I think it’s stupid that it was turned off because others couldn’t deal with people knowing they had liked a controversial comment. Cowards.

Even if having a guest was against the rules it’s less of an egregious breach than leaving your charge completely alone outside with garbage. Apparently the agency needs more stringent guidelines for its caregivers like “have enough sense to pour piss out of a boot before you put it on” Jeez.

Kind of interesting how that worked. My Space was way better than facebook, you could trick out your page, and make it awesome. Yet everyone was told facebook was better, so they all crossed over like a bunch of sheep.

I do miss seeing the likes. One of the bad things about the new format, is the dislikes actually count as likes on the votes. So someone might be a real asshole, and everyone might dislike their comments, yet their votes will be high. That’s stupid. Also, the comments come out all mixed up time wise, for some reason, instead of being in order. Also, you can’t check out someones profile and see whose comments they liked and disliked, anymore. I think the new format is a bit on the lame side.

Last time I am addressing this. The Likes were taken off long before we upgraded. You only started complaining about it after the upgrade.

We want people to freely likedislike a comment (popular or unpopular) without the standard circle-jerk mentality that usually forms around here when someone has an unpopular opinion and now gives readers the ability to bury worthless comments. You say you liked Myspace better, yet you want Facebook mechanics in the comments.

The comments are coming out disorganized because they are sorted out by the most liked first, and the most disliked last. Had you taken two seconds to investigate, you would have found, by simply clicking the Discussion tab at the top of the comments, you can have them sorted three different ways: Best, Newest, Oldest.

Every issue you mentioned is not because of the upgrade. One is because of you, the others are because we turned off Liking with a username.

I wasn’t trying to be an asshole about it at all. The thing I said about facebook actually had nothing to do with this site. Actually, by not being able to see who liked what, I was talking about in their actual profile when you look at that. It really isn’t that important to see who likes what, and I could see that leading to problems, I guess. Yeah, I missed the deal about the order the comments are listed, but I did investigate enough to see that the dislikes are apparently counted as votes.

As far as what you say at the bottom “One is because of you, the others are because we turned off Liking with a user name.” I honestly don’t know what you mean by one is because of me.
