Father Asks Kids For A Hug After He Stabbed Their Mother To Death

Grove City, OH – Police received a call from a 13-year-old boy on Sunday morning, telling the dispatcher that his father had just stabbed his mother to death and had instructed him to call 911.

“My dad just killed my mom. He just told me to call you guys,” the boy can be heard telling a 911 dispatcher. “He just ran outside and killed my mom and she’s laying in the grass in front of the apartment.”

The boy’s father, 38-year-old Jeremy Roberts, allegedly chased his ex-wife, Candice Roberts, outside his apartment and stabbed her to death in front of their children. She was there that morning to pick up her kids.

Eventually Roberts gets on the line and tells the dispatcher his wife is under a blanket and that the weapon he used was outside by her body. When the dispatcher asks about what he did, Roberts calmly tells her they will see when they show up.

For the rest of the five-minute 911 call, Roberts can be heard telling his children that they have a big sister who will take care of them. He can also be heard explaining to them that there’s a lot of things that they don’t understand and don’t know.

Before Roberts walked out the front door, he handed the phone back to the 13-year-old boy and says, “One more hug. I love you guys.” The boy then replies, ”I don’t want to see you right now.”

Candice’s 16-year-old daughter told reporters that the boy is haunted by what happened that morning.

“My brother says that every time he opens his eyes, he sees my mother’s face and her yelling, ‘Help me!’ ” she said. “And he sees my dad standing there with the blood all over him, and the knife in his hand.”

Police say Jeremy Roberts will be charged with murder. You can listen to the 911 call below, if you want.

I am happy that he was so matter of fact about it. He did not run, he didn’t lie and he stated facts. That way the the police and attorneys can clearly understand everything that happened and his state of mind. I am sad for the children and that they had to witness such a crime.

So, the fact that there are a lot of things they don’t understand and don’t know somehow is supposed to excuse the fact that he just murdered their mom in front of them. You know, I’d be willing to accept that perhaps his wife was an evil bitch, and that their kids would be better off without her around – but even then, he’d have done better to let them grow up with, well, a mother that’s alive, and allow them reach their own conclusions as adults about which one was the ‘bad’ parent or whatever. Instead, now he’s pretty much guaranteed that his ex-wife will always remain a perfect saint, and in their eyes he’ll forever remain the cold-blooded murdering bastard that he is.

Even if this dirt bag has some legitimate reason for wanting to do this- such as the wife was harming the kids, or allowing to be harmed ( not the case, because he says the kids don’t know a lot of things- if they were being harmed, they would know!)- he just put them in even more harms way by leaving them vulnerable (physically and emotionally now) without any parents to protect them.
