Man Sentenced After Dousing Girlfriend With Lighter Fluid, Setting Her On Fire Cleveland, OH - Speaking of people setting their partner on fire, a man Kniption reported on earlier this year has been sentenced for setting his girlfriend on fire while she held their baby.

Back in January, 31-year-old Kevin Ford got into an argument with his girlfriend, 31-year-old Tiffany Lawson. This argument led to Ford spraying lighter fluid on Lawson, who was holding their 11-month-old child, as he chased her around the house.

Lawson was able to make it to the second floor of their town home before Ford lit her clothing on fire. Lawson was able to drop her baby from the second floor window to someone waiting below, then strip off her burning clothing and take the same exit.

Both the baby and Lawson survived, with Lawson suffering second degree burns, a broken wrist and other injuries. Ford fled the scene before police arrived but was arrested later that day.

In April, Ford pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder, three counts of aggravated arson, three counts of felonious assault, four counts of kidnapping, two counts of domestic violence and one count of endangering children. On Thursday, Ford was sentenced to whopping 16 years in prison. (*Insert dismissive wanking motion here*)

I’m sure Ford’s community is ecstatic to have saved some tax dollars in order to ensure a guy who would set a woman and baby on fire will be back out on the streets in no time.

Going for the equal opportunity douche bags day today?  First a dumb ass woman burns her BF and now this tool?

  • BehemothII

Betcha 100 dollars against a bucket of pee that when he gets out he goes and tries to finish the job.  Betcha!

    That’s a fools bet.

  • sugarpie

And the woman is defending him???  Ahh!

  • OutOfBubbleGum

If I was his ex-girl friend, I’d visit him every week, religiously, in prison.  Every week, I’d bring and fondle a new man in front of this jerk.

  • Athena

Too bad he wasn’t caught with an ounce of weed when arrested, or something.  Probably could have doubled that sentence.

  • Andyman

That sounds like one hell of a laundry list of charges to only get a 16 year sentence of which he might serve as little at 6 or 8 before being released.

So last night I’m watching ‘Worlds Dumbest Brawlers’…or as we like to call it “Crazy Dumbasses’. Anyhoo..there was a video of  a brawl in the middle of the street between a rather large woman and a very much smaller man. She was giving him a beating, sitting on him, he was trying to get away, people were standing around. The usual. What stands out in my mind after reading this article is he kept calling her ‘Tiff’ and I could swear I heard someone call him ‘Kevin’. Could it be the same lovebirds? A modern day Romeo and Juliet? hmmm…

  • sherrdbw

That 16yrs (minus 8yrs for good behavior) will teach Kevin Ford to never do that again.

  • JGo555

Where’s that Alaskan latino named woman to set this POS on fire when you need her!?

As for the 16 yrs, a jackass like this will surely earn himself more prison time because he’s a pussy & a snitch.

I guess that’s one real hot broad

  • tiffani lawson the victim

I doubt that he will… he won’t be able to find me

  • tiffani lawson the victim

No because we never fought before

  • tiffani lawson the victim

You just know the story you don’t know me nor him

  • BehemothII

I hope and pray you are correct. How has your recovery been?

  • sugarpie

You’re right, I don’t. The “story” is pretty cut and dry and there isn’t any circumstance that I would defend ANYONE who put my childs life in danger. Even if it had been just you, people argue, maybe he throws you around a bit, and you forgive him – but for God’s sake, he lit you up like a charcoal grill. No way, would I defend this character under any circumstances. He’s where he should be.

ourIt was no domestic violence between me and him ever in our relationship not even harsh name calling.. it was not an argument over the rent either.. he was on a drug induced rant… he smoked an ounce of (street drug water) but that is no excuse for what he didto me and my son.. and despite how you feel or even how i feel that is my son’s dad..i can’t teach or display hate toward him toward his actions yes. I don’t want my son to hate himself(seeing that he is named after his dad) or feel that he is doomed to suffer his same fate…

  • tiffani lawson the victim

I and my son are doing very well… my recovery was smooth.. although i still suffer from the emotional damage..overall i think we’ll be fine

  • sugarpie

You don’t have to preach hate to your son. He will grow up and question why his dad is in jail and it won’t be hard for him to get the real story. God willing your son will have a good head on his shoulders and will know that what his dad did was wrong and had to pay the price for the danger he put you both through. I don’t think that using a drug induced state is an excusable way out of any situation. The fact is, when you and he became parents, there is always a decision of whether we should or whether we shouldn’t partake in any kind of risky behavior and as parents, the answer should always be “NO” when the consequences involve children. I’m not saying I’ve been a perfect parent, but after I had my son, my life was not mine anymore. I cleaned myself up and did whatever I needed to do to make life the best I could for him. Because it wasn’t about me anymore. Just because this was an isolated incident with his anger, doesn’t make what he did any less of crime. The severity of the situation is the reason I have such a hard time with why you stick up for him. I get that you don’t hate him or that you forgive him, but knowing that he very well may have killed you and your son and you are making excuses for him is mind boggling. If he is any kind of man as he is sitting there in prison, even he should be beating himself up about what he did and realizes that he is exactly where he should be for his actions. Good luck with your son and God Bless.
