Father Catches Man Molesting Daughter, Father Beats Man To DeathSHINER, TX — A man in Texas caught another man in the process of molesting his 4-year-old daughter and proceeded to beat the man to death.

Police say they received a call from the father late Saturday afternoon who told them he attacked a man he caught trying to sexually assault his daughter. When police arrived at the location, they found a 47-year-old man dead at the scene.

According to police, the father and daughter were with other members of the family tending to horses when the 47-year-old victim, known for his horse-grooming abilities, arrived at the family’s rural ranch with several others. Reports are that the man was not well-known to the father or his daughter.

At some point the group heard the father’s daughter screaming from behind a barn. When the girl’s father ran to check on her, he witnessed the man assaulting his daughter. After pulling the man off, the father then punched the man in the head repeatedly, killing him.

So far no charges have been filed. “You have a right to defend your daughter,” Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon said. “He acted in defense of his third person. Once the investigation is completed we will submit it to the district attorney who then submits it to the grand jury, who will decide if they will indict him.”

The girl was taken to the hospital to be evaluated and has since been released. Harmon said that, aside from mental trauma, she is fine. Harmon also told reporters that the girl’s father is “very remorseful” and didn’t know the man was going to die.

The small community rarely has murders, Harmon stating he has only investigated six in the eight years he has been sheriff, so this story has residents talking. Some who live there gathered at a popular convenience store and expressed their support for the father.

“A lot of people have said that he got what he had coming to him. That’s been the consensus. They’ve been supportive of doing what needed to be done to take care of the problem,” said Howard Gloor, owner of the convenience store that sells bait, beer, and–God love ‘em–ammo.

Free (whatever his name is)!!!  NO INDICTMENT!  He did what every REAL father SHOULD do!

Bravo!  Vigilante justice is perfectly acceptable to me when they are caught in the act.  Father of the year right here.

  • Texas Ranger

OK, now TWO great things come outta Shiner, Texas. Shiner Bock Beer and one hell of a Dad. This guy is only guilty of not having a gun on him.

  • http://twitter.com/vab423 Vicki B.

Sadly, in California, the father would likely be arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_TQNRXAMACWQ7AQWGY6WMPACXBE David

    Love Shiner Bock.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_TQNRXAMACWQ7AQWGY6WMPACXBE David

Nice to see some good news on the DD pages occasionally.

  • BlueJeansandLace

This went as it should have…. as long as there are never any charges for it.

  • Sorrow_discord

Now that is a dad, protecting his little girl.

  • OutOfBubbleGum

If you’re driving through Shiner, Texas and happen to see a poor, thin, hungry man standing on the side of the road with a sign that read “Poor n Hungry,” please stop and give him a dollar.  This would have been this dead man’s defense attorney.  “The big one got away.  No mansion.  No boat.  No new car.  …”

It will be great ammo for Daddy to tell the kid’s first dates eleven or twelve years down the road, about what happened to the last guy that touched his little girl without her permission – or his.

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

They better not charge him with anything.  If I caught a guy in the act of molesting my kid, they’d be picking up his remains with a sponge.

  • http://akemi-mokoto.me/ Akemi Mokoto

WOOOOOOOOOO! THIS has brightened up my day! I like this. I like this a lot. This dad…I love him. I want to shake his fucking hand and buy him a drink.

  • TruTruTrue

Shoot!! Give this man a cigar, name a park and a street after him and throw a parade.

  • Coyote

This guy has my vote for
    father of the year.

  • donnakelli1

normal human reaction.  we need more of them.

  • ozgirl79

One of the best stories I’ve read on here. Win win for everyone. One child molester down and no charges laid for the death of him. Yee haa!

  • Gee

We need one of these stories to help offset all shit! Unfortunately it sounds like he didn’t really mean to kill the kill guy and is struggling with some guilt. That’s how it is when your a nice guy.  I think he will get over it though

  • Sam

Good. Excellent. Fabulous. Buy this man a beer.
*makes mental note – if i ever catch molester in the act need to make sure he/she lives until dragged to within Shiner city limits*

  • Texas Ranger

I know, hard as I tried……I couldn’t drink Shiner TX dry.

  • Chinchillazilla

I feel sorry for the dad. Article indicates he didn’t really INTEND to kill the guy and feels bad. But this still made me smile.

  • http://www.dreamindemon.com Morbid

Wait for police to release it. Which they haven’t done yet.

I have access to pickup trucks, SUVs and plenty of rope!

  • JohnQknowitall

Harmon also told reporters that the girl’s father is “very remorseful” and didn’t know the man was going to die.

This told me all I need to know about the father to make the determination that he is indeed a good man… a better than just a good man. I wish there were more people in the world like him.

  • Heather_Habilatory

When’s the ticker tape parade begin?

  • tmfuller21

The 47 year old man is no “victim”.

  • derae

Another man steps up to the plate and does what needs to be done.  First the guy that busted “Fuckstick” and now this dad who saves his 4 year old daughter from being raped. I love justice!

  • http://www.facebook.com/karrasmithhammonds Kelly Hammonds

A-fucking-men.  If that bastard was so brazen to abuse her so openly,  God knows how many other children were prey to him.  Don’t be remorseful,  be prideful!

  • http://twitter.com/tinalib13 Tina Wech

Bravo Dad! He should 100% NOT be indicted.  He did what any great daddy would do. He protected his own little girl, which is exactly what my own Daddy would do. Well done!

  • Valerie

Bravo to the dad!!!! That piece of shit would have barely been sentenced to anything and then free to go with minimal supervision. Even though dad didn’t intend to kill him, he got exactly what he deserved!

  • soon2bmomof3

his baby could not defend herself. he defended her. WAY TO GO DAD! I feel bad for him being remorseful if that is even true…. but fuck that baby raper!!!!!!!

  • zman64

Not just in California, either. Washington would arrest him too. This guy did exactly what any good father would do to protect his daughter.  Hats off to reading some good news on DD today!

  • Athena

Agreed.  Feel-good story of the year, perhaps, as well.

  • Athena

Actually, having done legal work in both California and Washington, I would say that you are both incorrect.  There isn’t a state in the union that does not give you the right to defend your child.

Even in Texas, this man *could* still face charges, should a Grand Jury decide to indict.  I find it extremely unlikely in any state, though.

  • Angie Starker

DAMN IT.  I saw the headline and saw it was in Texas, and I hoped that it was my ex who had been killed.  He molested our daughter between ages 2-4 and when I found out, I did everything I could to bring justice to the situation (and I’m still trying, my little girl is almost 7).  So far he laughs at me and walks around completely free.  No charges pressed, because you know, kids aren’t very believable and the man was good enough to not leave physical scars.  I’ve no doubt other little girls will be victims, just as I’m sure others have been victims before.  Texas is really bad about not giving a rat’s ass about domestic violence and child abuse.  At least one perv got what was coming to him.

  • uvgottabkiddinme

The way I see it, if that guy who called 911 because his neighbor’s house was was being robbed and was justified in blowing their brains out with a shot gun, this dad was well within his rights to beat the guy to death. It’s sad that the dad is sorry.

  • zman64

You may be right. I just think the fact that he died would be troublesome in some states regardless of laws in place that allow one to protect their child. Hell, Florida had to pass a law allowing people to defend themselves in the event of a threat because people were being arrested for killing people that had entered their property or otherwise threatened their safety.

  • http://www.facebook.com/taxigal Amy Peterson Veazie

I agree.  I also look at it this way if we dont look after our children who else would and if it was the judge daughter what would be done

  • http://www.facebook.com/taxigal Amy Peterson Veazie

our ex might get away for know but we have an awesome God and when he sends Krama your exs way I pitty him for whats done in the dark shall come to light

  • http://www.facebook.com/taxigal Amy Peterson Veazie

    True Kelly how many others

  • http://www.facebook.com/taxigal Amy Peterson Veazie

He only did what any parent would do. I cant say Id feel sorry if someone was hurting my baby

  • Shelby Burns

It makes me so sad that he feels remorseful and didn’t mean to kill the guy. I hope he finds some peace and realizes what a great dad he is.

  • http://www.facebook.com/taxigal Amy Peterson Veazie

If they try and charge him they need to think if this was their little girl what would they have done?  I KNOW what I would have done the same dang thing this father did but I don’t think I would have felt sorry for anything because that is why the man up stairs gives us these little angels to love and keep them safe -  I would love to shack this fathers hand

  • lalalandmamma

I am sure that father is going to need a lot of counseling. Killing someone know matter how warranted is horrific especially if you are not a psychopath or trained to do so. In the news article he states that he did not intend to kill the attacker and is remorseful over his death.

  • Wolf_of_Mars

     Bravo!

  • JohnQknowitall

I agree, but being able to feel compassion for someone even under these circumstances shows the “specialness” of some people.

  • https://twitter.com/#!/AngelsMom0806 Angels Mom

Of course I wish this never had to happen in the first place since a child was victimized. But since it did unfortunately happen I am pleased that it ended like this. This may help the daughter heal knowing that her abuser was stopped and can never hurt her again and that her dad is freakin’ AWESOME!

  • lespacino

Remorseful? Shit, I don’t care if he was dancing for joy when he found out the dude died- give that father a medal and send him on his merry way. That’s how everyone should react in this situation!

  • lyssdexia

I agree 100%. I want to get that little girl a shirt that says “My Daddy kills the monsters.” I also wish that every little kid who is suffering sexual abuse could have that same kind of hero for a father… but the best thing would be if all the monsters could be killed before they do any damage in the first place.

  • http://www.facebook.com/mitch.bedwell Mitch Bedwell

This guy deserves an award if anything, I usually don’t promote Texan pride but in this case you just Don’t Mess with Texas.

  • Sam

Any of them amphibian vehicles? Need something to cross the Atlantic with. Doesn’t have to be big, seems perfectly acceptable to me to have the perp dragging along the ocean floor / baiting anything with teeth.

  • Star1979

I would of did the same thing if I was in that situation involving my daughter or son …. GLAD the father caught it before it went any further !

  • darsa

Yep, good to read this one!  In seeing that he’s remorseful, I’m thinking he probably feels more badly for that scumbag’s family that for the scumbag himself…  Hats off to you, dad!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XKMAEMPVJ5T2Y35HKYTNG7I6SY Cedric

Everywhere I have seen posts on this story the posters are behind the father saying that justice was served. One less molesting bastard running the streets – that’s what I say.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XKMAEMPVJ5T2Y35HKYTNG7I6SY Cedric

Not having a gun ? He punched the guy to death – he had 2 guns on him.

  • newstarshipsmell

Why was this four-year-old child left neglected in a barn where some strange man could molest her? Where in the world was her mother? She should be charged with child abuse!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XKMAEMPVJ5T2Y35HKYTNG7I6SY Cedric

Maybe, maybe not – in Texas any death case, including police shootings must go before the Grand Jury … the dad could end up having to go to trial.I just hope the initial facts are correct and he off’d the guy for the stated reason.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XKMAEMPVJ5T2Y35HKYTNG7I6SY Cedric

Note: When you kill someone – regardless of why what you say later can either get you immediately locked up ,or give you an opportunity to remain free awaiting a Grand Jury review. My point is this do not be so quick to buy someone’s story after they kill someone. After killing someone – for whatever reason the correct thing to say is always “I didn’t mean to kill him.”

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XKMAEMPVJ5T2Y35HKYTNG7I6SY Cedric

You guys are kinda gullible on here – just because a person says that they didn’t mean to kill does not make the statement in fact true.It just makes them smart.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XKMAEMPVJ5T2Y35HKYTNG7I6SY Cedric

The dead guy had the same last meal Jeffrey Dahmer had – a fist sandwich.

I was wondering why a four year was wandering around on a farm unattended.   Remember the Dad who left his kid by the wood chipper?  I guess I am just an overprotective mother.  I look for worse case scenario in a lot of situations.

  • SuzanneBa

    A great Dad.

  • sugarpie

I don’t see that the family did anything wrong.  There were several adults here and the little girl was out working about with her family doing things you do on a farm.  In a farm setting, you don’t keep the kids in the house while you are out working, they go along and work too.  At all ages.  With several other adults, why would you think that one degenerate fuck would try anything like this.

  • sugarpie

I’m good with the ending to this story.  Praying for the girl…

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XKMAEMPVJ5T2Y35HKYTNG7I6SY Cedric

”why would you think that one degenerate fuck would try anything like this”

They haven’t released that information yet because the suspected child molester has family too,and they need to notify them first.

  • Andyman

Good, I’m glad he beat the life out of him.  Literally.  Kudos dad.

  • Athena

“Because they drove to another city to commit the reported assault, the incident can’t be considered to have occurred in the heat of the moment, Rosen says.”

This is why those men were arrested and charged.  In the Texas case, the father beat the life out of a man he caught in the act, right then and there.  The men in the San Jose case did not catch the perp in the act, instead waiting and formulating a plan to exact their revenge.

The difference between defense and revenge can be a matter of mere momemts, but it’s what makes the Texas case and the San Jose case completely different.

  • http://www.facebook.com/KsShot Kimberly Sullivan

if they try to bring charges against him I can see a world wide donation frenzy in the neighborhood of 100 million dollars just for his defense team, he should be praised for what he did, not only did he stop the attack on his daughter he gave justice to countless children this human piece of slime has attacked in the past, he also saved an untold amount of children from being molested/raped/ etc.. from this piece of crap over the next 20 or 30 years, BRAVO SIR!!

  • CT

Actually I read another report that says the girl was left in the house alone.  It sounds like the guy went looking for her because he was a casual acquittance and knew where she would be.  So I don’t think that the parents weren’t looking out for her

I feel that this man did rightfully so, I have a 4 year old daughter and if that happened to her…..Well, they would have a hell of a time finding the fucker’s body. ANYONE who does this to a child should receive the same punishment in my eyes, God only knows how many kids this asshole touched, because I highly doubt it started with this little girl.
