Man Arrested Trying To Sell Stolen Laptop At Owners WorkplaceJoliet, IL - A man was arrested after police say he attempted to sell at stolen laptop at the place of employment of the laptop’s owner.

Demetrius O. Nabors, 18, and an accomplice reportedly entered a Joliet liquor store, United Liquors, offering to sell a laptop computer to the employees. One of the workers recognized the laptop as being similar to one owned by a co-worker who wasn’t scheduled to work that night. That worker gave her co-worker a call.

The co-worker – who was not at home – reportedly returned to her apartment to find that it had been burglarized. She then called Joliet police to report the burglary and to inform them that she knew the location of the perpetrators.

According to reports, before police could respond, one of the men fled. Employees were able to hold Nabors until officers showed up.

The burglary victim was able to identify the laptop as hers. Police said that officers found electronics and videogames inside Nabors’ car that had been taken during the burglary.

Nabors, of Joliet, was charged with of residential burglary and possession of stolen property. His picture is from a November arrest for trespassing and drug-related charges.

How fucking lazy.  Do a little bit of research on the people you steal from – you had a fucking laptop for Christs sake – at the very least you could have done a Google search on the victim?  Problem solved. Why do I have to be the voice of reason?

  • OutOfBubbleGum

Unfortunately for Demetrius, he never got past the first chapter of “How to Start Your Own Pawn Shop” of his stolen public library book.   He needed to read chapters “2 – Customers Will Bring Their Stuff to Pawn” or “3 – Charging Enormous Amounts to Customers to Get Their Own Stuff Back.”

He could corner the market by being the first with a delivery service.

  • SayAunt

Demetrius, follower of the Greek goddess Demeter who’s in charge of corn and harvest.  Not much corn for harvesting in Joliet this time of year so why not laptops?

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

What kind of idiot tries to sell a stolen laptop at a liquor store?  I hope the victim was able to get all of her stuff back.

You’ll just be a poser idiot.

would you be my voice of reason and tell me to get off this site and get back to work?

  • curiousalways

call me crazy but when I go to a liquor store, it’s to buy liquor.

  • CT

It would a bit hypocritical of me I imagine since I spend my work day here also.   How about I tell you to run down the street and get me a new bottle of vodka instead?  That would truly work better for me.

”What kind of idiot tries to sell a stolen laptop at a liquor store?”

I guess you are not from the “Hood” – See in the Hood the liquor store doubles as the place to buy cheap, hot shit. It’s one of those deals where cash is exchanged and no questions asked about where the 50.00 I Pod came from.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XKMAEMPVJ5T2Y35HKYTNG7I6SY Cedric

People at in the “Hood” do – all the time, and not just laptops,TV’s,I Pods, fur coats,DVD’s,music CD’s – all kinds of shit.Liquor stores only run 2nd to the local barber shop for quick merchandise/cash exchanges in the “Hood”.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XKMAEMPVJ5T2Y35HKYTNG7I6SY Cedric

You are doing it wrong – or you are not going into your local “Hood” buying your alcohol.

Some people really do name their kids like they were attempting to win a Scribble Championship.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XKMAEMPVJ5T2Y35HKYTNG7I6SY Cedric

Super Awesome – unless he initially made the connection  due to having plans for ripping off that laptop himself … the co-worker loses Awesome points if he was only hating due to having been beaten to the punch.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XKMAEMPVJ5T2Y35HKYTNG7I6SY Cedric

I think the co-worker was going to steal it,but this idiot got to it first.’cause no one should be able to identify someone else’s random laptop … unless the co-worker’s are fucking each other and thusly know each others belongings intimately.

  • Jack2

Ah well, I think I’d rather have stupid criminals than those who are smart and get away with it. Glad he got his laptop back.

  • http://www.facebook.com/babar.stelzer Babar Aaron Stelzer

I wonder why they went to that liquor store? Maybe it had a reputation for buying stolen goods. I wonder if the same kids had sold stolen stuff to them before.
Maybe it’s poetic justice that they buy stolen stuff from these kids, then their own stuff gets stolen.
