Mom Charged After Killing Daughter In Botched Suicide Pact

Well, IF what she’s saying is true and they made a pact to die together, i feel kind of sorry for her. She tried to keep up her end of the deal but somehow managed to shoot herself in the head yet still miss any vital organ.

If she failed at being a mom, why would she think she would be successful at upholding her end of the bargain in a murder suicide pact?

I don’t know the real stats just the ones from this website, but this would seem about right as a percentage.

I wonder where the “non-fatal” bullet hit her at?  I wonder if it’s through her cheek, ear lobe, or a grazing wound easily hidden by her hair line.

I can’t find anything to substantiate or refute that percentage. I do know it’s possible to be shot in the head and survive, the brain is a funny and miraculous organ in what it can survive.

If your gonna mess up a suicide pact, it should be not being able to kill your own child, not your own selfish self.

True, but just because the report says she was shot in the head doesn’t mean the bullet penetrated her skull. It could have just grazed her and it would still be considered a head shot.

This thought was lurking in the back of my mind also while I was reading the story. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if it turns out this was simply a murder.

Funny how that seems to happen a lot.

If she could drive to a neighbors and ask them to call 911, I’m thinkin’ she was capable of finishing herself off one way or another.

I’m gonna go against the grain and say that mom did intend to kill herself, she did have a gunshot wound on her head. I don’t know, it’s all so sad I can’t imagine a mother and daughter actually doing a suicide pact. How does this happen? It’s just tragic.

Well the daughter is negative six feet tall now.

Hmmm I am sort of swaying on the side of this being a murder. If the daughter has two bullets to the dome to assure effectiveness, why didn’t the mom? I am highly doubting the “suicide pact” at this point.

 I don’t buy that. I remember a man doing the classic recoil misfire while trying to shoot himself with a shotgun (I believe it was profiled on Dr. G: Medical Examiner). Took most of his face and his jaw off and he managed to get off another shot and finish the job.

I’m thinking murder/suicide as well. I’m pretty sure the woman didn’t expect to live through the bullet to the head and was perhaps super surprised when she did. This would make some people just put another bullet in the brain, but maybe this one’s one of those people that thinks it’s a “sign” or something. 

 Dam, I’m OK with adults shooting them selves, but the kids? That’s fucked up.

Everything is here-say from a murderer. Dig deeper to find out the entire story…this “friend” only knows what Mary wanted her to know…Virginia had family that wasn’t allowed to see her- and ironically when she was 18 and old enough to choose to see her family Mary takes her life. Ironic?

Even more Ironic is that I knew Mary when I was a child growing up in Cali. She was my best friend when I was;little and I had been searching for her for over 40 years, and I found her alright. This whole thing really sucks! I can believe the mentally ill story as that can have a BIG effect on what happened that day. As I recall her dad raised her and all over her siblings because her mother was having issues even back then. Maybe someone should look into that aspect of this whole thing. Maybe Mary was hearing voices, or bi-polar or something. None of us know. All I know is this is a very sad story. Just really sad.

You are right in everything you said. Mary is very mentally ill and I know in my heart that my AUNT Mary never meant for it to end the way it did. If you look at her mug shot you can see she is dead inside already. Mary was a good mom and I know she loves Virginia very much. Their were other factors to why they wanted to die if you knew Mary than you knew her sister Donna. Another sad story search the holiday inn express saint Louis, woman found dead in bathtub. She was Donna’s daughter and Mary’s niece. They were both my cousins and they are very much loved and missed by the whole family. It had only been 5 months since the murder of Mary’s niece and the two of them couldn’t handle it. It is so hard for the whole family to have to deal with all of this tragedy and loss, than have to read all the b.s people want to post that did not even know her. Shame on all you mean people. Thank you for standing up for Mary and giving her the benefit of doubt as you were correct. God bless you
