Things around Casa de Splawn became more mysterious the following evening when Douglas overheard her confiding in their children about his fictitious attempts to commit suicide. He finally had enough of her creepshow and contacted Mary Black Hospital where she had recently been fired from her position as an emergency room secretary.

Douglas was advised by hospital staff to call the police and Stacy was charged with criminal domestic violence. She has now been released on a $3500 bond and Douglas had agreed to a divorce. Master Deputy Craig Bradley may have a future in marriage counseling with his sage advice: “If you want a divorce, leave. You don’t have to kill him.”

    Thank goodness for stupid criminals.  It’s interesting that the headline says that she’s a nurse, but the article says that she’s a secretary.  Secretaries don’t have to be nurses, but in a good hospital, non-licensed personnel don’t have access to controlled substances.  She could have been an RN on desk duty that had access to the meds.  

    It’s also interesting that she got fired and he wanted to stay married to her.

    Yes, lemons I noticed that too. I’ve never personally seen a unit secretary that was also an RN (though sometimes RNs have to do double duty if a secretary calls in, that’s not their primary job description). So if she was only a secretary she wouldn’t have (hopefully) had a way to get into the locks where the sux was (ideally you need a password and your fingerprint in the system and sometimes additionally a key depending on protocol). So if she wasn’t actually a nurse, I have to wonder, did some lax nurse either cause a condition that enabled her to get the stuff, or god forbid helped her get it? If she was a nurse and they could easily trace her to who got the sux out of the mckesson (or whatever system that hospital uses) that may just be why she was fired in the first place.
