Woman Charged After Punching Child During Anger Management ClassLOUISVILLE, Ky.  – Police arrested a woman after she allegedly punched her 10-year-old son in the face during her anger management class.

Earlier this month, 30-year-old Misty Lawson was taking the class when she allegedly got pissed at her kid and punched him several times in his face and body. A counselor who witnessed the incident called police as well as Child Protective Services.

The boy suffered from redness to the eye and a knuckle bruise on the right cheek. Lawson was charged with fourth degree assault, and probably needs to get her damn money back. This isn’t the first time Lawson has made the news regarding something stupid she did with her son.

Last June she and 29-year-old Derek Noel left the boy, then 9-years-old, and a 12-year-old boy in the back seat of a hot car while the went inside a Kroger to get their pictures taken. It was 90 degrees outside, so when some Kroger employees saw the boys unattended in the back of the car, the stopped a police officer.

Both Lawson and Noel admitted to leaving the boys in the hot car and had told them both not to get out. They were both charged with wanton endangerment and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Any guesses on what Lawson will be charged with the next time she undoubtedly makes the news?

The violence is certainly awful, and I hope they take the kids away from her since it’s been repeated more than once. But I don’t really understand the endangerment stuff about the 9 and 12 year old in the car. Sure, I think it’s wrong and sad that she and her bf went to get pics taken without the kids, that’s odd…but my mom left me and my sister in the car many times at the grocery store when we were that age…in the summer, we just opened the car doors and waited. In my state, 12 years old is the age a child can be left home alone as well. I’ve left my stepdaughters in the car with the baby while I ran into the store when they were 11 and 14…so I don’t really understand that sort of charge, unless the car was locked in that kind of heat and the kids couldn’t get out.

Hopofully the children will be removed from said sperm receptical, and her ability to squirt out any more victims will be stopped.

Violence towards children makes you a loser and a fucking dumb ass.

I have to admit that I chuckled when I read the title of this story.  It was funny.  I know I shouldn’t have laughed but I did.  I admit it.  Bad, bad, CT.

  • Andy P

Why wouldn’t they want their kids in the picture?  Are they not part of the family?

Some kids need a smacking, closed fist is another thing, look at what this Dad did-

I hit one my of my sons on the bottom – once – I felt like such a dick afterwards that I couldn’t control myself that I haven’t done it since.

ONLY 4TH degree assault?! WTF?! Why do they leave kids with these people especially after multiple incidents.

  • debi

HEY MAYBE NEXT TIME THEY GIVE HER KIDS BACK THEY WILL BE PAYING FOR A FUNERAL

When my dad was a young fireman in Los Angeles he went to a parking lot rescue where there was a car on fire. The mother had stopped to fill the lawn mower gas can as requested by her husband and the children were left in the car as she ran in. One of the kids started playing with the lighter and the fire started, 2 small children climbed on the top of the back seat and got trapped against the glass window and burned to death.
My dad came home after the crew got back to the station and locked up the gas cans in a shed and forbid my mom from ever getting gas for him because she always had us kids with her.

    oh how horrible.

Holy Hell that story reads like some sort of April Fools day article.

She left 3 kids, aged 4 and under, in a running car that happened to have a loaded gun in it whilst she went to get her NAILS done????????????????

  • Anonymous

yeah, it’s Memphis ya know.  That’s how we roll here.  Morbid should read it, I thinks it’s worthy of a DD spot.  Just thankful they didn’t shoot each other to death.

Everytime something horrible like that happens, I obviously feel bad for the families of the victims, but then my thoughts turn to the first responders. I’m thankful for them, but do not envy them.

“If I feel like going to get my nails did. I’m going to line them all up and we fixing to sit in that… nail shop.” I’m seeing BonQuiQui in a MadTV skit.

  • Eliza Berntsen

I don’t get what the big deal is either. Both me and my brother were left home alone from the age of 6 and 4 respectively. We were also allowed to walk to our friends house/ farm that was 5km away, by foot, on the road. And we used to go to the shop to get some ice cream in the summer that was 6km away.

  • Anonymous

I think BonQuiQui was actually getting a pedicure in that same shop at the same time.  That’s how I pictured it too.

  • Eliza Berntsen

Clearly her classes weren’t going that well. Shame really.

  • Anonymous

The bigger question is… who the hell gets their picture taken at Kroger? And I live in Lou, KY, and to my knowledge none of our Kroger stores have those little stand alone studios inside them (like the Wal-Marts do).

  • Anonymous

If you want to practice, you can spank my bottom :) to get over your anxiety.

My mom said she used to be responsible for her 4 siblings when she was 7. But she’ll be the first to tell me, ‘Times were different then’.

  • Anonymous

We don’t have that at our krogers either.

  • Eliza Berntsen

Oh, yes, those sure were different times. Although, my different times were 20 years ago.

  • Anonymous

Oh for crying out loud.3 babies left unattended, a loaded firearm , running car, all she needed to complete this picture was a pitbull and a pedophile who just got out of jail.

My guess Morbid would be drug possesion and child found beaten and locked in a cage.

    The next charge? Murder.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JTXWGMNM36EPO6SQLBO7XCH4PE Trish D

Yeah I laughed too.  If they’d ever made my ex-husband take an anger management class, he probably woulda knocked somebody’s block off before the end of it.  Probably not a kid, though.

  • Anonymous

Gets the point across, as a parent you must draw the line, and when they cross it stick to your guns. I have two model citizens as daughters, they will tell you we were hard on them and now they are seeing the fruits of our labors and they tell us they appreciate it.
My 23 year old just moved to Utah to stay with her brother (his mom raised him and his family for 2 weeks until she gets her apartment), she says her brothers household is a crazy house compared to our house while she was growing up.
We made our girls do their home work the minute they walked in the door, every day.
We were parents not friends as so many parents try to do.

  • Linda Carter

The next charge may be murder. You can tell by her FB page how angry of a person she is, plus she just got a new gun she’s showing off!!

You know what’s fucked up? In one of her posts, she says, “Just got out of the slammer, need to shower and eat”. And then someone asks her if she shot someone with her new gun and she said, “Nah, just assault”. Then none of her friends even ask her anything else about it. Like it’s just a run of the mill, everyday occurrence to be locked up for assault. Then in the next post, she says she’s “tired of being on the news”. Wow.

I always explain to my daughter the reasoning we as adults have for the rules and consequences. I.E. I’m making you clean the litter box so you learn that if you want an animal, you have to take care of it. (She can’t feed the cat anymore because she would feed it too often, without asking if he’d already been fed. Fatass got up to 15 lbs!)
I’m making you do laundry so you know how to do it, and don’t move out of mom and dad’s house and are completely unable to do it yourself. I’m making you do extra credit so you get amazing grades and get used to doing the EC. All of that is so you can get into a great college. That is so you don’t have to struggle and be poor like mom did.
You’re grounded for not letting me know you were going to the neighbor’s house to play because I need to know where you are at all times. You need to remember to tell me this so mom doesn’t have a stroke thinking you got kidnapped by a pedophile.

I’ve found that if kids of reasoning age know why you set down rules, they are more apt to follow them.

And then if they break the rules, they NEED the consequences. Otherwise they wind up featured here.

  • Anonymous

I thought the same thing, she is remarkably blase about just “getting out the slammer” and so are her facebook “friends”.

  • Anonymous

Eliza, I had children 20 years ago and I am shocked and appalled anyone would leave a four-year-old or a sex-year-old alone. That didn’t happen when I was growing up in the 1960s, or when my mother was growing up in the 1940s, either.

  • Andy P

Good for you. Clearly you recognize you are your child’s parent and not their friend.

  • Andy P

Where the hell is a Kroger’s anywhere anymore? Oh yeah, apparently KY. :)

    Misty, word of advice:

    DON’T GET YOUR KIDS BACK.

It’s better to not get the welfare check than to be in jail for the rest of your natural life because you killed them cause they pissed you off.

  • Anonymous

She does tell people I’m her best friend, because I’m the only person who will love her completely unconditionally and will always support her.

  • Anonymous

Sweet revenge since her ass didn’t buy the damned laptop.

As a teenager, my mom would tell me to do something (like the laundry) and I absolutedly hated it (still do). I would tell myself: “This is for my own good, one day I’ll be glad I know how to do this”.

Now as an adult I realized two things:

    1. She DID want me to learn to do things for myself.

    2. She hated laundry & delegated.

I also told myself that if I didn’t do a chore & she nagged me afterwards for the rest of the day that it was my choice to not do it, to suck it up because I knew it was gonna happen & to “man up” to it.

That’s what I am asking!!! Why do parents get so many chances? These dirt bags should be banned from being around the kids for good.

  • Anonymous

Yeah, I did em to avoid the nagging and so I could do the things I wanted to do.

  • LeaveMeBe

Its NOT OK to leave young kids in a HOT car alone sorry. Anything could happen besides getting so hot they overheat and end up in the hospital. They could be abducted. The adults didn’t just run in they took the time for a photo session, without their kids none the less. In NJ its ILLEGAL to leave anyone under 13 in a car alone in NJ. Its obvious these ” parents” suck and dont give a shit.

  • Anonymous

Yeah times were different and children had few rights. Child molesters were told to just leave town if anything happened to them at all. Not a time I wish to go back to or an excuse for shitty parenting.

Kroger has a lot of stores.  But they go by different names (where I have recently seen them)  Dillon’s, and King Sooper’s.  Those are two that I know of.

  • Andy P

Wow I’ve never heard of either of those stores. Where are those?

  • Anonymous

Dillon’s is in KansASS and King Sooper’s s in Colorado.

  • Eliza Berntsen

Oh you see, I was growing up in a very small country in the literally middle of nowhere. The “village” that we lived in only had 9 residents, everyone knew each other and looked after each other. There was no running water or toilets so from a very young age we learned how to do things for ourselves. As I said, the nearest shop was 6km away or so, I can’t remember it that well, and even there everyone knew each other. What I am trying to say that it was safe. Nothing ever happened. All of the kids grew up the same as we did, it was just how it was. My mum had no choice but to go out to work- our school/ kindergarten fees had to be paid, food had to be put on the table and the bills had to be paid. Hell, I even knew how to get the fire going in the stove (all the houses there wood burning stoves in the kitchen’s and the rest of the rooms for heating) from the age of 7. It really wasn’t that much of a deal.

  • Josh

Define penis, is that any man that your mom was with or your dad?

  • Anonymous

Some of you are nuts! I would NEVER leave my kids in the car alone for any reason. When my children were 14 and 12 I put them in after school care so I knew that someone was watching them. I also took my 12 yr old to school with me when I had classes at night. I didn’t spank them either. This woman is a piece of work. Obviously the anger mangmnt classes are working. I guarantee you that at least one of her kids will turn on her when they are older and she will be the one that gets the beatdown.

  • Josh

Fry’s, Smith’s, city market, food 4 less, king soopers, tom thumb and turkey hill are a few others that I can think of.

  • Anonymous

It means her bf of many yrs that molested me from age 6-15 so
He doesnt get a name or title

  • Anonymous

I remember having to help out with dishes and laundry when I came home from school by myself at about 9 years old. But I wasn’t allowed to touch the stove (and it wasn’t even a wood burning one!). My cousins (same age) actually helped out and got dinner started for their mom (single and raising twin daughters). We were in a small town and everything was so different. I hope I can teach my child responsibility and how to avoid/flee danger.

  • Anonymous

Take her pipes out with a dull spoon. I hate when people beat on kids. If she’s doing that in front of an anger management group I shudder to think about what she does when the rest of us aren’t around.

  • Anonymous

Note: I don’t actually ‘like’ the idea of murder, but I know where this is headed. Runaway, little boys!

  • Anonymous

    2. She hated laundry & delegated. That’s exactly why my kids have to load the dishwasher!

I am 42 so its a bit longer, im still in jersey though, she wasnt much better, she was an abusive mother like the ones we read about here, we lived, i used to watch her grab my little sister by her hair and fling her against the wall, so i empathize with these poor kids we read about here, the ones that survive have a very rough road ahead of them

Even though I was a kid I spent about 35yrs feeling guilty that it was my fault that forced my grandad to do this to me. Ive been in therapy about 30 yrs, 4 psych hospital stays and my feeling of self hatred for myself have never gone away.

@kimbev69 and @sherrdbow I am sorry you had to go through this. This happened in my family and I’d do anything to be able to go back into the past and maim the pos who hurt children that way. ( he’s dead now, hopefully in hell)

That sucks so much, i feel so badly for you! Its never our fault and i know it wasnt mine or yours, get this book called “the courage to heal” it may help just a little, i think its the only thing that helped me with dealing with what that POS did, my bigger issue was having an abusive mother that brought him back into the home and used to accuse me and him of F$&@ing, and even to this day says i stole her man and she tells everyone i grew up with that my son is her b/fs child :0( amazing to be betrayed by the one that should love u the most, i hope someday we can get some peace

Sadly, she has set her Facebook to restricted.  However, I could see her friends list.  Correct me if I’m wrong, but given that she’s 30 years old, she was born in either 1981 or 1982, right?  The woman listed as her mother on Facebook lists her birthday as February 13, 1970.  Which means, if her information is correct…  Ew.
