Man Dressed As Dead Sister To Fill Her Prescriptions

Athens, TN - Athens police have charged Douglas Gregory Nichols, 36, after allegedly he dressed up to resemble his dead sister in an effort to fill her prescriptions for Xanax and hydrocodone.

His first successful attempt was reported to have occurred less than one day after she had died. I can feel the grief slipping away…

According to police, witnesses said Nichols wore a wig and makeup on a total of two occasions to pick up prescriptions that belonged to his sister. Sgt. Detective Heith Willis said investigators are “assuming he was doing that to look more like the relative.”

You just can’t get anything by those Tennessee investigators.

Unfortunately for Nichols’, pharmacy staff reportedly recognized that ‘he wasn’t the right person’ during his second attempt. Nichols was arrested and subsequently charged with prescription fraud and other related charges. He is being held on a bond of more than $500,000.

I was on hydrocodone post op and my mom was able to pick up my prescriptions, but because it’s a narcotic, they ask for ID and they track who is picking them up. Perhaps he was trying to avoid that?

He has taken hydrocodone before, right? And he’s sure he wants to be addicted to that ? I switched to liquid children’s Tylenol about 3 days post op to avoid having to take that damn narcotic anymore. I get a little nauseous just thinking about it.

One of my boyfriends always picks up my prescriptions for me on the way home from work. Perhaps, it’s different if the drugs are potential abuse drugs. I’ve never been on Xanax or Hydrocodeine.

Xanax is for anxiety disorders, not and anit-psychotic. It is extremely addictive and I know a few people who were prescribed the drug legitimately and had to go to rehab to safely get off the medicine. It is a popular recreational drug, usually called zandy bars. It comes in a bar and you break off tabs. It’s a central nervous system depressant like alcohol.

You must live in Europe or Canada or Cuba where medications are free. In the United States the pharmacies as well as the pharmaceutical companie.

The pharmacy did not get taken and there is no mention of insurance fraud. The insurance companies would cry endlessly about losing a penny.

I’ve been on xanax for 15 yrs…still only take one mil. per day. Other people aren’t that lucky. Different people=different chemical makeup. Addicts need help, not prison time.

I think some people become more easily addicted than others. It’s especially hard when you have an anxiety disorder and as someone who has panic attacks I can see how scary it would be to try and live without the drugs.

I was a waitress… back when I was also dating my husband was a college chick & kids & stretch marks were but a whisper in the wind.

My Halloween costume was a black mini, knee high boots, long sleeve white waiter’s shirt with a black bowtie with only the top button done. The rest were unbuttoned with a very nice satin black bra showing.
