Man Charged With Stabbing Man’s Eyes With Knife, TV Antenna

Cincinnati, OH – An Ohio man is facing robbery and assault charges after robbing one man of his cell phone and stabbing another in both of his eyes.

Police say that after Eugene Dase punched one man and took his phone, he put Robert Sandford in the hospital after stabbing him multiple times in the eyes.

Police say Dase used a steak knife to stab the poor man’s left eye, then used a television antenna to stab him in his right eye. Sandford was taken to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

While in court Monday, Dase cursed at the judge and laughed at his potentially lengthy prison stay.

Dase: “How about I just plead guilty right now?”
Judge Bouchard: “You’re not going to see the light of day for a long time.”
Eugene Dase: “Do you think I give a (expletive)? You think I care?”
Judge Bouchard: “Yeah, I think you’re going to care in about 15 years when you haven’t seen the light of day.”

Not a real shocker, but Dase has prior convictions for assault and has a history alcohol problems. There are also questions about his mental stability, so he has been ordered to undergo a mental evaluation.

With an antenna? Where the heck do you even find one of those these days? And how the hell did the victim even let him get close to the other eye after he had already stabbed the right eye with a steak knife? And why didn’t the stabber just use the knife on the other eye too? And where did he get an ANTENNA for cripes sake?

I, also, was thinking car antenna, but thank god LeaveMeBe brought up the question of why the victim allowed the fuckhead to get at the other eye. I mean, I’d think that after Dase lost interest in the steak knife, he probably had to go look for another weapon and decided upon an antenna. During this time, even if it was a couple of seconds, I’d think the victim would be hauling ass. I wonder why the other dude only got clocked and robbed.

the guy got close because he beat the shit out him first….beat him into unconsciencousness…..stabbed him repeatedly in the eye with a steak knife…beat him some more…then stabbed his other eye out with the TV antena (which comes standard on older models)…the stabbed man was a very short little man and this guy is pretty big and fairly muscled from years of working out in the jail house yard…surprise…this isn’t his first stint in jail….and how do I know all this? these gentlemen sadly are my neighbors. The stabbed guy was also beaten by another roomate on thanksgiving. Seems the guy who owns the building next door is illegally running some sort of halfway house and putting paroles and mental patients in together. fortunately, the police are finally taking my complaints seriously and trying to get this “home” shut down.

I imagine it can be pretty disturbing and even frightening. Just so you know, I was being facetious with my comment. It’s sometimes a coping mechanism for dealing with crazy shit in the world and stories like this.
