Florida Hunter Shot After Dog Bumped Into Rifle

December 11, 2011 at 9:53 am by

Florida Hunter Shot After Dog Bumped Into RiflePasco County, FL – A little over a week ago we posted a story about a dog who “accidentally” shot a duck hunter in the ass. Now we have this story out of Florida in which a man riding in a truck with a dog was shot after the excited canine bumped into a loaded gun.

Reports say 78-year-old Billy E. Brown and his hunting partner of 25 years were driving down a bumpy road one-and-a-half miles into the woods when a bulldog named Eli got excited and bumped into a loaded Browning 308. The gun fired and Brown was shot in the right thigh.

Brown was rushed to the hospital where he underwent surgery. As of Saturday he was in critical but stable condition.

I’m starting to suspect that these stories have less to do with careless gun owners and their loaded firearms and more to do with dogs becoming aware of the negative press they receive when they maul someone to death. They’ve simply switched tactics.

Since things always seem to happen in threes, let’s wait and see if  a similar story comes out in the near future that lends my theory any credence. If I’m correct, you’ll eventually see stories titled “Dog Accidentally Shoots Hunter With M1903-A4 At 100 Yards”

Ehhhh, this was a bulldog, not a pit.  The one bulldog I can think of who was in the news for mauling something was that skankwhore’s bulldog in Hollyweird (the skankwhore who was dating Lindsay Lohan).  That bulldog mauled another dog to death in the hallway of their apartment buildings.  Companion Bulldogs normally maul other dogs of their size or smaller, as they aren’t pits/don’t have the kind of movement capability as pits do (they’re awkwardly top-heavy, so they can be kicked off of you/toppled easy if they attack a human).*

BUT I will wait with you for the third story (and there’s bound to be one).  Maybe next time it’ll be a chihuahua.

*I was double-checking the news and every headline that contained something about a “bulldog attack” meant American bulldog.  The ones I was talking about are ~English~ bulldogs, including skankwhore’s.  Now I’m wonder if the guy in this story here had an American or English bulldog.  The American ones often get mistaken (by those who do not know dogs at all) for “pit bulls”. Whether it’s an AmBull or an English bull, it does make a pretty big difference re: when they attack humans.

I didn’t say one thing about pits. They don’t care about subtlety.

I know you didn’t directly, but you did say this:  ”I’m starting to suspect that these stories have less to do with careless gun owners and their loaded firearms and more to do with dogs becoming aware of the negative press they receive when they maul someone to death”…and the majority of the dogs featured here (well, in general as well) with the negative press they’ve received from mauling people to death are pits.

Ultimately in this case here it doesn’t matter what the breed of the dog was, really…he *shot* his owner, LOL.

“Brown was rushed to the hospital where he underwent surgery Brown underwent surgery”

    O rly?

  • http://www.dreamindemon.com Morbid

I was trying to help people out who may have forgotten they just read he underwent surgery, but fine, I fixed it. Way to ruin it for everyone, @facebook-815150531:disqus . Now how will readers ever know he was rushed to to the hospital for surgery rushed to the hospital for surgery? :P

    Dogs 2, hunters 0.

A whole bunch of pits that were raised incorrectly, bit someone & then were put down are rejoycing in their graves for their canine fellows are avenging their deaths.

So it was a bulldog. Let’s hear the stupid Nancy Grace say that it was a Pitbull in her next show.

They’re mistaken simply because AB’s are taller than pits (or XXXL pits) & bulldogs (English, Olde or plain named) are short, fat & wrinkly even when compared to Johnson AB’s.

Your personal observation – “dogs…simply switched tactics” – is priceless.

They’re smarter than one would think – and clearly smarter than their owners.  Pits are particularly intelligent.

    Maybe they are switching tactics.

You would think these guys would be storing these guns in ways that their “excited” dogs couldn’t get to them. My female boxer dog accidently backed into the Christmas tree the other night and a couple of the ornaments came crashing on her head…she took off running tucking her stump wondering why we were “throwing” stuff at her. :D

I’m wondering if this is the beginning of Planet of the Dogs… If these hunter dogs start breeding the human race could be in grave danger D:

The Reaper is a comin’… Gonna get ya Billy!  Hey.  What kind of f###ing 78 year old goes by Billy?  That’s the most interesting bit of this story, not “old codger nearly meets his maker.”

I’m loving the image of dogs of gun owners everywhere telepathically willing them to ‘leave the safety safety off safety off yea it’s loaded but don’t worry it’ll be fine yea put it there on the seat no not that way point it there yea yea yea now just sit there aaaaand…. OOH! SQUIRREL!’

“so they can be kicked off of you/toppled easy if they attack a human ”

Height: about 12-16 inches (31-40 cm.) (there is no prescribed height, but shorter Bulldogs are more prized when being shown)Weight: Dogs 53-55 pounds (24-25kg.) Bitches 49-51 pounds
    (22-23kg.)

John – I remember the Marine Corps Mascot Bulldogs, these things looked massive,I wouldn’t want to have to put your “kick off” theory to the test.

I do like these dogs though.

That would be the cutest movie ever. I would totally watch Planet of the Dogs.

My husband fucked a girl that looked like that, back in the day, but I don’t remember if he said he tried to kick her off at the end, or if he was successful if he did.  I’ll have to do more research.

For some reason it seems funny that you said “my female boxer dog” as opposed to “my female boxer” as if we might think you were talking about some female slave you own that happens to be a professional boxer.

I didn’t sleep much last night.

So if I want to get rid of my enemies. I take them hunting along with my two PITS and shoot them and blame the dogs. Nice! It’s the new thang so it seems.

I hope he did that before you married him.

Hey,I’m not sure why – but if you look at the dog’s pic, then read your comment – it’s pretty fucking funny.

I learned from using “female Boxer.” and/ or “white female Boxer” in search engines it should always include the word “dog”…;)

“His hunting partner of 25 years.”  Wow, that is one very old dog!!

Going straight home to change the code on my gun safe and this time I am NOT telling the dogs.
