Ryan Brunn Charged With The Murder Of 7-Year-Old Jorelys Rivera

Ryan Brunn Ryan Brunn Charged With The Murder Of 7 Year Old Jorelys RiveraCanton, GA – Police have arrested 20-year-old Ryan Brunn in connection to the vicious sexual assault and murder of 7-year-old Jorelys Rivera whose body was found discarded in a dumpster.

Rivera was last seen alive on Friday playing with other children at the River Ridge apartments. She vanished after telling friends she was going inside to get drinks. After a massive search, her body was found in a dumpster on Monday.

Autopsy results showed the girl was killed a short time after she had gone missing and had died from blows to the head and stab wounds. She had also been sexually assaulted before her body was tossed in the dumpster.

Brunn is a recently hired maintenance worker at the apartment complex, fitting in with the police’s initial theory that the person responsible for the girl’s death lived in the complex or had access to vacant apartments.

“We are confident that Brunn is the killer,” GBI Director Vernon Keenan said at a news conference Wednesday afternoon, about an hour after Brunn’s arrest.

    Yeah, it was pretty obvious it was a neighbor, or maintenence worker. She was taken, killed and dumped all in the same place. What a dummy….he was kinda asking to get caught. I’m so glad he did get caught…..but that poor baby. I hope DNA will confirm he was the attacker…..it’s just so sad. Jorelys was a beautiful little girl  :’(

    He’s only 20….chances are he hadn’t done anything bad that would’ve shown up in a background check yet. This is sure a doozy of a first offense, though…..
    They shouldn’t have given him keys to the complex just like that, though. Seems to me he would have to work there a while, maybe even be in a maintanence supervisor type of position before he would be given a master key. You know, show character and build trust before he’s given the complex on a silver platter….? They said he was recently hired, seems weird to give a new hire off the street master keys……

    There’s nothing particularly weird about that, actually.  Many people are given dangerous levels of access – to homes, to children, to property – based on nothing more than positive references.  And, usually, that’s okay.  If this place had a maintenance man quit on them or get fired suddenly, someone has to have access to those apartments in the event of an emergency.  Property managers rarely have the know-how, nor do they have the time to monitor a new maintenance man’s activity.

    I know innocent until proven guilty, but c’mon. That dude knew the little girl’s routine and made his horrible heist, might even have duped the kid to her doom given he probably was on first-name basis with her.

    What really sucks about all these kinds of perverts is they give all men a bad name. When I see a cute little girl in a public place my first instinct is to say ‘What a charming little girl!’ and compliment the parent, same you do when you see a cute dog. 

    But being a guy I know that is totally inappropriate…precisely because of fucks like this. It ruins things for everybody, forces everyone to be suspicious of everyone, poisons relations between all of us, and between children and adults the most. 

    Hope a ‘clerical error’ crops up and he goes to GP.

    I hope that whoever (him really) killed Jorelys has the most horrid life. I hope they are always sad & affraid, & tired & never have a moment’s rest for a long time before dying a painful rather slow dead.

    Killing a person’s not worth it but a child? Killing a child?  Before I ever have the urge to kill an innocent kid, I think I’ll take a warm bath with a plugged in radio.

    I’ll share with you, I don’t know if I really have a sick humor by nature, or it’s how I cope. (Maybe a bit of both) but I do know what you mean, for a while a bit ago I took a break from here. Can’t say it helped. Just broke up with my boyfriend last night so I could “shut off” and muster up enough cold heart to carry on with my day-to-day life and my work.

    I can’t pick and choose, love someone whole heartedly, open myself up and not be effected by things I long since thought I shut myself off from.

    I’m an aspiring photographer and I find girls that age to be among the most adorable creatures on earth, but I’m afraid to even ask parents about taking pictures of their kids because of fucks like this.  I’m a big guy of a race that typically isn’t well loved by society in general so it makes it even more difficult.

    I witnessed a similar situation about a decade ago…a local real estate company that rented to college students hired a “maintenance man” who had served 8 years of a 12 year suspended sentence in another states prison for what was officially “burglary”.It was actually a home invasion where the victim was raped and beaten but she was so traumatized she was unable to testify and they got him just on the “burglary”.His parole officer confessed that he was one of the most violent offenders he ever supervised.
    The people who hired him knew of his “burglary”record but never bothered to delve into it any further because they thought he was such a great guy and he was buddies with their kids(psychopaths are good at charming people as all of us DD readers know).They did not believe he could “rape”or hurt  anyone.
    I checked the news all the time waiting to hear of some poor girl being assaulted because the guy with keys to her apartment could not control himself and raped her & beat her to a pulp,especially since he lusted for younger girls who did not return his affections and he took rejection badly.Thank God it never happened.I toyed with the idea of posting warnings about this offender at the local college but knowing how the world works,I would have ended up being sued by the rental company.Sure,parents would have been outraged,cancelled their leases and all,but ultimately I would have been targeted by people with bottomless pockets.What do you do in a situation like that?If he had hurt or killed someone I would have felt terrible but his “employer-protectors” would have made my life hell.
    Knowing what I know,NOBODY has access to my home unless I am home-period.My landlord is the only person with keys for an emergency and I know that his ONE employee has no record because I checked him out nationwide.If you have kids in school that rent,check out their surroundings and verify that ONLY authorized personnel with clean backgrounds are making repairs and gaining access to their space.

    Yeah, my dad just retired and he said he needs to go get a part time job. I recommended that he could go volunteer for kids at several places around here. He said there is no way he will be in a position where he can ever be alone with kids and be accused of something. I thought that was a strange comment, but after hearing your hesitation, I kind of get it. The Jerry Sandusky types didn’t help the situation any either.     Well, I don’t give lessons. Just be as respectful as I can. Women are the one’s who are in control. As soon as the rest of some of these sexist bastards can figure it out, the better. My wife works her ass off for this family and I would give her the world. I work too, but times have changed. I cook the meals and take care of the kids most of the time, work when the job orders come in, and be the best husband I can be. My criminal record doesn’t even allow me to work at a 7-11…literally. Nothing bad like drugs or theft,/burglary charges and such. Just a couple of felony assault and batteries and simple batteries keep me from getting a job with a major corp. Haven’t been arrested in 4 years actually.

    Yeah…He tries, I’ll give him that, but the kid grew up with two good parents, who waited long enough to save up money for college for two kids before they were even born. Lives in a gated community..Worse thing he ever went through?His parents split up. Even then they were good about it!..Waited until he was a teen to divorce.Knowing him, and his family. The divorce was probably along the lines of “Sorry it didn’t work dear..I’ll see you in a month to finish up.”

    Not that I’m complaining I guess, all in all he’s pretty perfect, we were on the verge of moving in together eventually, but it’s difficult to deal with, definitely causes inferiority complex on my part.

    Hey, just checking back on this thread and I agree with all the responders. More I think about it, more I think there is kind of social calamity going on in slow-motion today. And that calamity is a lack of good men around kids.

    Between perv-murderers like on display here (worst of the worst) and fathers who ditch their kids (least of the worst…still in worst though) our children today suffer a tremendous deficit of good male role models in their lives. Especially girls.

    Some Advice for worried parents….I have two daughters in their teens and worried about the creepy guys so I bought 5 “dummy cameras” from the dollar store and put them up where they would be seen if a person was thinking of breaking in, etc….There worked so well the school kids dont’t litter anymore….Britain has it right about using cameras to control zones…and fuck google street view.

    I’m glad this asshole was found and this case didn’t go on until it got cold.  It was pretty obvious that it had to be someone with access (probably too much access).  What gets me is that either the guy watched her over a period of time and made his move, or it was just a random opportunity and little Jorelys just happened to be the victim.  Sad and disgusting at the same time, if it’s true.

    I don’t think there is any way that a child molestor/pedophile can be rehabilitated so I think that they should be automatically put to death as a complete waste of human tissue.  I was molested as a child but it was by a couple of family members and I lived to tell about it.  Only thing was, my mom didn’t believe it and called me a liar.  One of the relatives died a few years before my mom did and due to some stuff that was found among his stuff at his home, turns out he actually WAS a child molestor.  Imagine that.  My mom apologized but you can’t erase over 40 years of pain like that in a couple of words.  At least, I couldn’t.

    I report him each time he opens a new facebook also, the only reason is the pic of his daughter, and his wife doesnt block her acct, so far they had an “account” for the dog umm yea the dog played games and posts pics of his daughter, then ranger lowry who is male with same birthdate, they have been removed, i only wish that facebook would report sex offenders to their parole officers when they repeatedly do this
