Mans Wife Unknowingly Foils His Kidnapping Of JoggerBethlehem, PA — A 27-year-old man is facing multiple charges after police say he tried to abduct a woman at gunpoint earlier this week.

According to police, Michael Arce approached the woman, identified as 42-year-old Sarah Brenner, as she was jogging Wednesday afternoon. Brenner told police Arce stepped in front of her and said, “I want to ask you something.” She said she got scared and tried to go around him, but Arce pulled out a gun and grabbed her arm.

Brenner reported that when she screamed for help, Arce said, “Don’t make a fuss or I will kill you.” She said he then put her in the back seat of his BMW and hit the child-safety lock as he got into the front seat.

It was right about then that Arce’s wife, Ana Arce, pulled up next to his vehicle and questioned him about the woman in the back seat. Arce reportedly told his wife that he was simply giving Brenner a ride, police said, and unlocked the back door to let Brenner out. Brenner, uninjured, fled the scene.

Witnesses reported the attempted abduction to police, and when Officer Robert Toronzi arrived on scene, Ana was apparently still in the vicinity. When Toronzi asked if she was all right and whether she had she seen “any disturbances in the area,” Ana replied she was fine and had not seen anything out of the ordinary. Toronzi then received word that Brenner was in a nearby restaurant.

Brenner provided police with a description of the alleged kidnapper, and Arce was soon picked up at his home…just two blocks away from where he’d tried to abduct the woman. Police have reported that Arce did not know Brenner.

He’s been charged with kidnapping, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, making terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and simple assault with a deadly weapon. Bail has been set at $500,000.

Sounds a little hinky, eh? I, for one, am looking forward to hearing a little more on this one.

Good morning Jaded. For once a jealous wife actually SAVES a life instead of taking one.

She may not have been jealous though…I would be asking my husband about the random woman he’s toting around Driving Miss Daisy style myself.

I’m glad that she got away unharmed.

  • guillotinegirl

“Honey, you know I like to play chauffeur; I’m just driving her around so when I come home to you I can get my rocks off.”

I guess HE got more than he bargained for!

That is the most fucking lucky woman in the world.

How much ya’ll wanna bet that both women looked alike a bit & he was going to kill Brenner cause he really wants to kill his wife. I hope wifey doesn’t bail his ass out of jail & divorces him & he never gets out of jail since his ass WILL do it again & get it right.

God, do I ever want updates on this.

Iam sure the look of terror on the young womans face, may have given him away as well.

Ana replied she was fine and had not seen anything out of the ordinary.?Is this something hubby does on a regular bases.Either she is a liar or dumb as a box of rocks.

  • reapre

Idk whether to agree with you or not.

But it doesn’t appear that she yelled at wifey that he was forcing her around.  What I got from the article was he unlocked the door, she jumped out and ran off w/o saying anything.  *Saying this has never happened before in their relationship* It may not have been abnormal enough to report to police…

“Yeah, my husband had some girl in his back seat earlier he had been giving a ride too, when I saw him, she got out and walked off…”

  • Anonymous

Thats why I put a question mark. Is giving random strangers a ride, something this guy does regularly, I would question it and also because she was in the backseat and not the front seat,it is odd to me as well.

  • reapre

    Yeah, you have a point.

About 3 years ago, I offered my phone to some girl broke down on the freeway on my last drive home from the MC (21 hour non-stop drive) about 17 hours in.  She looked stranded and miserable, it was like 40 degrees and raining, she was standing outside of her car…As I walked up to her, holding my cell phone out and keeping my distance, she looked at me, afraid like I was going to try and grab her.  I was legitimately trying to be nice and help her out.  I thought she was going to mace me and her tone of voice saying “no thanks” wasn’t exactly welcoming.  Some of us do try to be nice, and it’s so hyped up that everyone’s “out to get you” that people are terrified of innocent intentions.

    That’s why I don’t think it’s all too strange.

Was the wife actually jealous and following the loser? The impression I get from reading how it all went down is like Ferris Bueller (cue the music) running home to beat his parents, ducking behind their cars, flitting through neighbor’s yards, perfect timing leading to a comedy of errors…but with kidnapping and guns involved.

Time for a divorce.  Poor woman clearly didn’t know what kind of twisted man she married.

  • Prominent Prozac

Totally, if a bitch tried to foil my abductions..I’d divorce her quick..and sue her for emotional distress.

  • Prominent Prozac

    She’s probably use to it.

Lets put a question mark into if they ever get up and leave after being tossed in his backseat, seems more fitting.

  • Anonymous

Something smells fishy.  Who sits in a back seat after they have been kidnapped and doesn’t scream and pound on the windows when an opportunity arises that could save their life?  Unless of course this woman gets kidnapped at gunpoint fairly often and figured it’s just another walk in the park.

Kind of sounds like an affair gone wrong.

  • SK

    loooolll

  • SK

the whole “make a fuss and ill kill you” bit might have freaked her out too, then again theres always that shock factor.

I must confess, I am sleepy this morning and may be confusing some details…..but why didn’t the chick he abducted run straight somewhere to call the police also? Why was it just bystanders that called? Ironic the wife caught him in the act! I bet he really feels like he can never escape that woman.

  • http://www.facebook.com/rachel.a.prince Rachel Ann Prince

What a lucky bitch! I don’t know what else to say really. I mean she could have been chopped liver had this douche mites wife hadn’t rolled by and saw him chauffeuring some random chick around. I hope they throw the book at him pick it up and then beat him with it til he’s dead.

  • Anonymous

This is such a weird story, really. If it was a cheating thing, why were the police called? With a gun involved, wouldn’t he be charged with some weapons type shit? Weird.

Yea,and does this guy not know what Duct tape is ? Did the car not have a trunk ? Michael will never be a made man making mistakes like these …

I’m not sure what the fuck Michael was thinking – you don’t normally seat either girlfriends,or women that you happen to be kidnapping in the backseat of the car you are driving.I don’t do kidnappings, but I have had a ton of girlfriends.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XKMAEMPVJ5T2Y35HKYTNG7I6SY Cedric

If I don’t know you, you do not get into my car;period.I have had to actually tell random people that who have wondered up to me in parking lots. Even when I was a police officer,if a person requested a ride, and I felt like giving them one I would first search them(women – men couldn’t search, but we could hold onto purses, and we could give them a quick pat down),then I would call their name into dispatch, along with the destination address.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XKMAEMPVJ5T2Y35HKYTNG7I6SY Cedric

    Lets hope not.

I agree even if Brenner were warned about signaling  for help no one could hide the terror at being taken by gunpoint and knowing what comes along with that if an unknown appears on the scene and is like “Who’s this, honey?” She wouldn’t be able to hide the fear. So wifey is the fuckwad of the year or knew g*damn well what psycho hubby was up to and played it off, UPDATE CITY HERE I COME!!!!!

  • Reen B

Sounds like witnesses called police to the scene of the abduction and Ana was still around. I imagine he was questioning everyone around there.
