Sitter Found On Craigslist Charged With Sexual Assault

Who the fuck hires a babysitter off Craigslist??? Shouldn’t the fact that this guy seemed like the best option amongst the rest of the sickos on there have tipped her off in the first place??

Who hires a babysitter these days, period? Aren’t there enough horror stories doing the rounds about what these people do to our children? It’s a sorry state of affairs that as mothers, plenty of women actually have no choice- but Craigslist? I’ve heard of plenty accredited daycare centres that offer round- the- clock service.They may cost a little more but I would rather be out of pocket than sit with a traumatised child.

Never mind the fact I wouldn’t hire a man to babysit, unless it was my husband, my dad, or my brother…who are about the only three men in this world I trust…I damn sure wouldn’t have went looking for some shmuck like this to watch my kids…What the fucking hell?

Call me sexist, but I would never hire a male babysitter. Not that female babysitters can’t do harm also, but it just concerns me far more for a grown man to want to be alone with children.

When I was a kid, one of my friends lived close by. He was my age, and he had an older brother. One day, he invited me over to go swimming at his grandparents, which was strange because we had a membership to a country club, so we always swam there. My mom started asking questions when he said no, that if we were going to swim that his parents said it had to be at his grandparents, and come to find out, his mom and older brother weren’t home, only his dad would be there. (I was probably about 10 when this happened) well unbeknownst to my mom, the dad had picked me up in the pool before, and was holding onto me by my butt, which even at that age made red flags go up. It wasn’t until recently though that I realized that my mom more than likely saved me from getting molested that day.

I certainly am not blaming the mom for not protecting her child, provided that she needed a babysitter while she went to work. In that case, I can see her being desperate and feeling like she had to get someone so that she could provide for her children. But if this woman got a CL sitter so that she could go out or something like that, then she needs some seriously intensive parent skill building classes.

I almost feel like the mom should be charged. Really a dude off the craigslist?!?!? I am leery of ANY man that volunteers to watch kids. Especially when he didn’t have any of his own. And when they say they ‘love children’ that further lets me know something isn’t right.

His eyes kept twitching so much I felt like I was gonna have a freaking seizure or some shit. And being a Christian myself it really pissed me the fuck off he went and grabbed his fucking bible like that was really gonna redeem his pervy ass.
As for the mom, I just don’t understand how the hell she figured A) Craigslist was a safe place to get a babysitter B) A male babysitter was the best bet and C) CRAIGSLIST WAS A SAFE PLACE TO GET A BABYSITTER. I get it she has an overnight job and doesn’t wanna leave her kids alone but hell after what happened to her baby girl I’m thinking that would have been a better option.

I just viewed the video,and my opinion of  Steven Knox is that he is most likely one sick puppy.Everyone has the right if charged to a hearing at court in front of a jury of their peers,but watching the interview I found myself doubting Steven’s innocence;I likewise found myself wondering what in God’s name was this child’s mother thinking – I mean during the interview Steven stated that taking care of children is not even what he does for a living.Steven stated that his reason for advertising on Craigs List was due to the fact that he “simply loves children”,that in itself brings up the question of how exactly did mom select Steven from all of the other babysitters listed on  Craigs List? What were mom’s requirements to babysit her daughter ? After viewing the video,I was left thinking that mom most likely only had two requirements which were location,and pricing.Sad,Sad story … there is good and bad in everything though the bad is obvious – this little girl was made into a VICTIM,the good is also obvious – yet another suspected child molester has been spotlighted.

Everything about him screams, “CREEPER!”  It is so hard for single parents to be able to work second and third shifts due to inadequate care being available (including evening and overnight daycares having HUGE waiting lists), and he took advantage of that.  It’s too bad he can’t have additional charges tacked on for exploiting such a vulnerable person.

This definitely wasn’t innocent. For starters, he and I did not have the sort of relationship that it was common or invited for him to pick me up. Beyond that, the way that he was holding me was such that my arms were around his neck, and the natural placement of his arms would have been to have one arm supporting my back, and the other in the bend of my knees. There was no excuse for him to have one, much less both hands, directly on my ass.

Agreed and even when I’ve sold things, I try to make sure I’m not the only person home or be on the phone when the person shows up. Its not safe for adults let alone 6 year old girls.

Anyone who seeks childcare without doing their research – which includes verifying any claims of education, licensing and checking out multiple references – is making a grave mistake.  It doesn’t matter if it’s a daycare or a Craigslist ad.  

Unfortunately, not everyone has those spidey senses that alert them to a predator in the midst.  In fact, A LOT of people don’t have that.  Worse yet, some predators don’t send those vibes out to begin with (although this dude obviously does). This is why thorough research should be automatic.  

Go to Craigslist for a shifty looking male babysitter with no kinds of his own??

I agree with you on letting the dead rip, but MJ sure makes a great cautionary tale of how not raise children. I am kind of against the whole entertainment culture that we have as I think it is dragging us down as well as the people who are in it. It and sports are two american obsessions that don’t do us any favors.
