Someone who appears to be a stranger to her made a REALLY good point on the picture of the gun: There were all these warning signs, and no one did shit about it, but now that she’s dead, they sure are turning out to post “RIP” and “I love you” to her wall. Too little, too late.

Well, it’s like everyone else in humanity. Nobody pays any attention to what anyone else ever puts on their Facebook accounts, because they’re all to damn busy posting their own updates every 13 minutes about how great their lives are, and how thankful they are for all of the blessings in their lives, etc. Nobody had any damn time for all of her bitching, whining, and schizophrenia. I don’t have a real facebook account, I have one but just use it to be able to peek at this type of stuff and see things that friends tell me to check out..I can’t help but wonder if this kind of stuff is how Zuckerberg intended FB to be used…duh of course not, but jeez…look at the build up of sheer insanity..I have to say that she seemed a bit off before the god talk. I think you may be (mostly) correct in that people are consumed with their FB pages to post about themselves, but I have to also agree with Heather that surely SOMEONE (family or a close friend) cared enough to read her posts. I only have 75 FB friends and I personally know and/or am related to each one and I mainly have it to keep up with them. I rarely post myself, so I would definitely see something like this. Could you imagine seeing posts like this from someone you know? Bizarre.

I just don’t get it. I read through her Facebook page & saw where others recounted having called the police to have them check in on her, police say she’s fine, “waaaahh, why didn’t the police do anything??” blahblahblah. Uh… people do realize that it’s not the police’s job to deal with mental illness, right? If they thought she was so crazy, why didn’t anyone call a mental institution? Or seek a medical power of attorney? Or take her to a doctor to explain her symptoms & insist she be evaluated? Or you know, all those other legitimate things you can do when someone you know is effing crazy.

I just hate that her family is badmouthing the police for shooting her. The police did exactly what they were responsible to do in all situations. Her family didn’t. And if they’re looking for someone to blame for her death, it should be Holly & themselves.

Morbid, you forgot to add that Jaded will probably be nekkid when she goes down in a hail of bullets at the end of a police chase because she is classy like that. No normal car chase and police shoot-out for our Jaded.

Which leads us to one of two conclusions (about the people who DID notice). Either they noticed and are too batshit crazy themselves to put two and two together – or – they were too self-centered and lazy to do anything about it. Someone else posted though that she read on another site that her family is blaming police, stating they knew she was mentally unstable and called police but they said they couldn’t do anything about it. Not sure the validity of that. Seems like they really only have themselves to blame. Being a 34 year old woman, if my parents thought I was insane, they wouldn’t wait on the government to do something about it. They’d probably kidnap me and have me involuntarily committed.

It didn’t have to end this way. There were plenty of warning signs, and it was long and drawn out. Unlike the teen’s story from yesterday where her tweets came fast and furious in a short amount of time.

Unfortunately in the U.S. if you have mental illness,but have no money,or insurance the centers do not want you there – oh,they will take a person,when the person is shoved down their throats by the correct agencies,but soon as they can get away with doing so (and it usually does not take them but a few days, to a week)they paper whip the person,and toss them out the door ,and back into play in society.This is all jokes aside a very sad,and disturbing reality.

When I read this story, the first person I thought of was Kelly Thomas. Of course, in his situation, the police were totally out of line, but it’s just another example of how terrible the outcome can be when serious, untreated mental illness meets law enforcement.

You are so right. What happened to her is genuinely very sad. I feel badly for her family who didn’t know what to do since she hadn’t proven herself to be a danger to anyone. I feel badly for the police who killed a mentally ill woman, only knowing that they were being shot at & responding in kind. I feel badly for Holly herself – because the things she was writing on her Facebook page were the ramblings of a mind in a rapidly increasing descent. I feel badly for the next family, individual, and law enforcement group that this happens to. With the status quo, we will see this play out many times again.

Sounds like my aunt, when she stops taking her medicine she become all about God. If we notice her going to church more than once or twice a week, it’s time for a welfare check. It’s weird how people with mental illness can think that God is talking to them/become incredibly religious. Just something I’ve always wondered.

had seen her at O’reilly’s auto parts store. I told them then what she
was posting and that I was afraid she
was gonna hurt herself, and they just let her be! Then days later she

Reading her posts just makes me wonder how someone’s mind can trick them like that. It’s very sad, but fascinating at the same time.

There are actually comments on her page from friends or family that say they did call police, more than once and Holly herself talks about the cops coming because someone called them.
If you read down far enough, chick went bat shit crazy really fast, but it’s almost like she was half ass stabilized on meds and then went off of them. It’s really sad because you can see it unfold on her page.

I don’t know about Washington but if it is like my state,you are screwed if you need mental health services.The only way to get it is to be rich,have good insurance or get committed.The only provider that takes Medicaid is not accepting new patients and the county health department only provides “mental health” for addictions.So unless you are a crackhead you are fucked and I imagine nationwide the picture is no prettier.The healthcare system is so jacked up that things like this happen.I bet she had sought help and either her insurance would not cover it or she could not find a provider with openings.Tragic.

Did anyone notice that the cops say she rolled down her window and started shooting, but the photo of the car at kirotv.com shows the window rolled up and shot out? That was pointed out by someone who claims to be her sister. She also said she had the mind of a 10 year old. Wonder how she was able to drive and get a gun?

I felt awful reading her updates and stuff. It just kind of made me want to turn back time and make her get help. I’m pissed that the people who were communicating with her this whole time totally ignored her going off the deep end. I mean, she was posting about Jesus raping God and her seeing it, she clearly had some severe mental issues that all her post-death well-wishers ignored entirely. This should not have ended this way.

You can, in many places, be forced into hospitalization by court order. You have to call the right people, though, and that’s not necessarily the police. In PA, at least, if someone sees a legitimate threat to yourself of someone else they can 302 you into the hospital for at least 72 hours. I don’t know if that’s how it is in Washington, but it should be an option in every state, if it isn’t.
