Teen Charged With Stabbing Dad For Taking Away His Cell PhoneLONGMONT, Colo. – A 15-year-old is currently spending some time in a juvenile detention facility after police say he stabbed his dad during an argument over the teen’s chores.

Police say that the teen’s father was angry over the boy not taking out the trash (yakety yak) and responded by taking away the teen’s cell phone (don’t talk back). The teen responded by retrieving an ax and using it to hack into his parent’s bedroom door.

The boy’s father was able to get him in a bear hug, but that did not prevent his son from using a knife to stab him six times in the back. The boy’s mother was eventually able to disarm him while the dad was taken to the hospital and treated for minor wounds.

The 15-year-old, who already has a criminal history, faces charges of felony menacing, first degree assault, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

One of my kids is the same age as this boy, but had he done what this kid did, the headline would have read something like “Man’s Shoe Removed From Son’s Ass” or “Teen Missing.”

Sorry for the lame picture. But do a Google search on the phrase “spoiled teen” and you’ll see why I went with this one and the reason I got a bit preoccupied.

“Man’s Shoe Removed From Son’s Ass”
Morbid this brings back childhood memories.

My Dad’s favorite thing to say when I was acting up was, “do you want me to put my foot in your ass”
    Little Gee, *Nods head no*

I know this sounds horrible these days but I come a generation when it was ok to spank your kids. Of dad never literally put his foot in my ass but that was a regular threat growing up.

Well my kids aren’t so bad after all!!!!!!!!!!! What a little spoiled ass brat. Kids get everything they want now, so when someone says no one time some of the kids go nuts!!! I am betting that the dad was the kind that thinks spanking is wrong. That boy needed an ass whooping a long time ago.

    Dang,
Can’t say I know what he’s going thru!! My youngest child is 19 and I took her phone this past Monday for her little attitude. When  I said ‘give me the phone right now’ she turn it off (password protected) and handed it to me.. She will get it back in a month.. She hasn’t smarted off to me since then and when I told her to ‘clean that nasty room’ she did.. it took her a while but she was doing it when I got home from work.. Thank you Lord that my child didn’t try to stab me when I took her phone because they would’ve been burying her.. She is spoiled and yeah I will probably break down and give it back to her in couple of weeks cause I get tired of texting or calling her boyfriends phone when she leaves but at least I will shown her I don’t have to take her crap.

what a spoiled brat! unless the parents get a handle on the lil monster we’ll see him here again for sure!

I’m 19, but am back at my parents house. If my dad asked for my phone, i’d turn it off and give it to him. If I even thought of going out to the shed and grabbing that axe, my dad would put his foot up my ass.. up to his knee. If I ever attacked my dad, he’d probably first laugh then make me dig my own grave.
Of course I’d never consider doing that, and I haven’t had a phone taken away since I was about 16 years old (I actually happen to respect my parents), but still. That’s your fucking dad. How could you harm any member of your family, ever? especially over something so fucking trivial that he’s probably paying for in the first place!
    That text message can wait.
What the fuck is wrong with my generation? (Or my state,Florida, for that matter ha)
Is “ey wut R U up 2 d00d”,”nm u?”.. worth killing over? get your priorities straight while you sit in juvie you little shit.

What, no attempted murder charge? After stabbing the guy six times in the back?

Also, I’d make my usual joke about how there’s nothing better to do in Longmont (which is where I lived as a teen) but even if the place is boring as hell and is redolent with the perpetual scent of Eau De Cow Fart, you ought to be able to find SOMETHING to do besides stabbing your dad.

Actually, in my experience, if you raise your kids right, you can avoid the ass whooping entirely.  If you’ve been relegated to hitting your kids to get results, you probably made a few disciplinary mistakes along the way.  And, no, I don’t think spanking is wrong, I just think it’s a largely ineffective last resort.

That aside, whenever I read a story like this, my gut reaction is to loathe the spoiled little shit.  But when I think about it, I’d much rather the monster turn on his creator rather than some innocent bystander.  Assuming this kid’s behavior is the result of overindulgence any not something else, that is.

Growing up my dad was a retired cop and a Army helicoptor pilot.  When my brother was 15 he thought it would be wise to steal some cash out of our mom’s purse to buy a lame ass sweatsuit he wanted.  Of course the unexplained appearance of new clothing gave him up.  My dad got a pair of scissors out and told him to cut the sweatsuit up (guess dad thought it would hurt my brother more than returning it for the money…don’t know).  My brother said “No!”  Fuck that shit, I vacated the room and when I walked back in about 2 minutes later my dad had my brother up against the wall by his neck, feet dangling.  He calmly said “Cut the suit up” to which, once my brother slumped to the ground and regained his ability to speak, my brother said “OK” and cut that fucker up.  No bullshit.  My dad was/is a very kind man but you KNEW not to cross the line.

The cell phone would up that kids ass, he would be putting his head up it to make calls.

I can envision him asking . . . Can you hear me now?

My old man was military also. When I was around 13 or 14, I was in the kitchen with some of my friends, wearing a t-shirt that had a cow skeleton on it or some stupid shit.

My dad told me I couldn’t go out in that shirt and to go change it. Not wanting to look like a chump in front of my friends, I told him “whatever” and that I *was* going out in it.

He calmly reached over the kitchen island that was between us and grabbed the front of my shirt in his fist. Next thing I hear is a loud ripping sound as he, in one fluid, continuous motion, ripped the shirt off me and slammed dunked it in the garbage can.

I was left standing there in front of my giggling friends shirtless, aside from the black collar of the t-shirt hanging around my neck like a fucking leash. As embarrassed as I was as I went to my room to put on another shirt, even I had to admire his badassery.

Can’t be your kid’s friend. Period. They see you as a peer and lose respect. I’m gonna have to toot my own horn here and say that my kid has always been the best behaved, everyone that has come in contact with him has told me this. The kid even tells on himself for gosh sakes, “mom I was watching nickelodeon and something inappropriate came on and I shut it off”, too goody two shoes for my taste, but he is how he is. He nows I would do anything to protect him and on that note he knows that I’m a crazy bitch too and toes the line accordingly. Guide your kids and pay attention to them but don’t be afraid to punish them.

  • Pyncky

I raised two daughters and I thank my luck all the time that there were no cell phones to be had unless you were rich.  I never had to get into physical discipline with them.  Psychological warfare was more my style.  If I said clean up your room and they promised to do so, I expected them to keep their word.  The youngest once had to wear clothes from the Good-Will for a semester because I cleaned her room after she had a week and a deadline to do it. I pitched everything on the floor except school books and took the bag to the local strip malls dumpster.

With teenage boys, I don’t know.  My stepfather was an abusive fuck and I was determined to not be him.  I never stabbed him though, thought about it, dreamed about it, ran the scenarios in my mind over and over, but never did it.  I promised to one time when he raised his fist to me when I was 14.

Well actually what I said was “Do it.  But don’t ever go to sleep.”

So, without knowing if the cell-phone was the only stressor, I withhold judgement.

  • Athena

“Can’t be your kid’s friend. Period.”

THIS.  So few understand what it’ll do to a kid.

  • Athena

See, that’s just it.  It appears to be statistically safer to abuse your kids than to spoil them (although, you’re right, we don’t know if that’s what happened here).  I believe when kids are faced with an abusive fuck for a parent, yes, they plan out their parent’s murder down to the last detail, but, at least subconsciously, are afraid of what might happen to them if it doesn’t work (my dad wasn’t an abusive fuck, per se, but he was an alcoholic, so it was a little touch-and-go for awhile, there, if you know what I mean).  With spoiled kids, there is no such fear.  Creates a potentially dangerous situation for a parent.

I believe a touch of fear is a necessary element of parenting, but a line must be observed, of course.

  • Anonymous

Who knows, maybe the cell phone was the last straw for the kid. Some kids are just bad apples other times it can be traced to bad parenting.Since he was already in trouble with the law at 15, this probably was brewing for awhile.I don’t think I could ever forgive my kid for stabbing me through, but thats just me.

I hate to say it, but… this is what happens when the government teach our kids in school that it’s OK to call emergency services when your parents give you a hiding for acting like a little shit. Don’t misunderstand me, I’m vehemently opposed to child abuse, but a smack on the backside when your  preschooler tells you to piss off is just fine!

I did the whole plan your parent’s death down to the last detail thing too. After my Father passed my Mother went crazy. I had a horrible abusive childhood. I have to say even through all that I never even considered raising a hand to my mother, not once. For me the best revenge is living my life as well as I can. all things considered I have been blessed with a wonderful life now.
