These things happen when spoiled teenage girls go through cellphone withdrawals.

Teenage girl cellphone withdrawals is a very serious matter, not to be taken lightly. They need to make a 24 hour hot line for this very serious issue.

That’s the whole beauty of my cellphone hotline idea. Their going to be double pissed when they have to use the families boring old landline phone. 

Oh man, I only know of a handful of households that even have a landline anymore. A lot of the people I know are ditching their landlines and keeping only their cell phone. So due to that, I guess I somewhat forgot about landlines in general. They’re endangered.

I hate my cellphone & I own a landline.  I’ve never liked talking on the phone much. Although I text my mom cause it’s cheaper than calling.

Well, I for once I’m gonna have to start to hit my kids. Bestow the fear upon my hand & whatever I can find so that their asses BEG for a time out & for the phone (ANY PHONE) to be taken away before the psychological torture of knowing what awaits them when they get to the house & mommy comes in through the door.

Time & time again my hubby & I agree that if the kid has a phone it’s cause not only can they take care of the bill, but also know, understand and are able to deal with the consecuenses. If the kid wants a car, they’ll have to buy it themselves AND pay for the insurance. I will give’em some help to buy it… $50.00 should help out, right?

Oh & you fuck up? The phone, the comp, the iPad (or whatever the hell they have then), the tv, the gameboy, the EVERYTHING BUT BOOKS, FOOD, WATER & SCHOOL & WORK is gone.

I’ll give’em a piece of paper & a pencil to entertain themselves… oh & they’ll have to pick up the dog crap & mow the lawn of the backyard with the nice hill… going UP & down not sideways on it.

This is why it’s called “being spoiled.”  The term was coined in relation to the consequence of over-indulgence, not the over-indulgence itself (that word would be “over-indulgence” ).

Don’t spoil your kids, and you’re unlikely to get one that with shoot you in the gut with a motherfucking arrow as the result of a cell phone dispute.  Not to engage in victim-blaming – it’s *possible* this girl is just sociopathic despite dad’s best efforts – but, generally speaking, the kind of teen a parent winds up with is a direct result of their parenting ability (or lack thereof).

@JGo555 -  LMAO!  You sound like me!  I have an only child – a son who is 13y/o, 5’6″, around 200lbs and a 40″ chest.  All that you mentioned plus NO SPORTS!! 

I also think we’re the only family in our small community that has a 13y/o boy who still takes time-outs.  I’d like to think it’s due to good parenting skills, but it’s probably because my eyes turn black, my head spins around, fingernails turn into talons and horns sprout from my head.

Ahhhhh, parenting. 

When I was given a cell phone at 14, I was told it was for emergencies only, and that any charges above & beyond the regular monthly existence fee came out of my pocket. The only thing that ever got taken away from me was my allowance for a couple of weeks until I learned how much using it for more than emergencies cost. But then, my parents didn’t ever shower me with lots of things in lieu of love & attention, either. I saw and still see a lot of that with my peers. 

I have to wonder what her medical condition is? Diabetes, maybe? Or some other really whacked hormonal imbalance (insulin is a hormone)? I’d guess some kind of chemical imbalance or dysfunction, because if it was physical injury, I’d think they’d be more forthcoming with details. 

I’m a little surprised how hot-headed some of the other responses are, but I guess it takes all kinds. I don’t have kids and haven’t even thought about having any at least until I’m out of school. My only experience in bringing kids up is how I was brought up and treated by my parents. Those of my peers who acted out a lot or had significant behavioral issues had some pretty selfish parents, in my opinion. I think that thoughtful, intelligent people who set out to have children consider the long term consequences of their actions, and alter their lifestyles to focus on, support and raise their kids to the best of their ability. 

Unfortunately,the stories I see here usually don’t involve parents like that.

So, now the local news is reporting that neighbors are saying there has always been “visible tension” between dad and daughter.  None of the neighbors interviewed seemed particularly shocked by this event.

In the interest of full disclosure, that may be because Tahuya is in BFE and shock is not a common emotion in those kinds of communities.

I doubt it, although I”m pretty sure he won’t be flippin the tab for her membership at the Archery club anymore.
