Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any cells without cameras in a while, so yeah, you just may be screwed that way. I plan on teaching my boys right, and to not pull that garbage. What kind of parents does this boy have that he thinks threat of humiliation will get what he wants. I thought that cops were using the charge of “possession and distribution of child porn” in cases like this? Why wouldn’t this apply here? She is a minor, it doesn’t really matter how old he is or how he obtained it. How about we don’t give children access to technology that they are far too immature to handle. My daughter has a camera on her phone, it has been disabled and she doesn’t have picture texting capabilities anyway. She doesn’t have internet either.

This happened to a friend of my daughter’s. Somehow in her mind she thought that sending pictures was better than having sex with him, the lesser of two evils I guess. She thought of course, that since they were in love, he’d never ever show anyone!!! After she was threatened she found a little bit of sense and told her mom who called his mom etc. Luckily the pictures didn’t make it to FB. It was a lesson learned for her and he learned his lesson when his dad came home and had a “talk” with him. The phone of course. was history.

However, since it IS a new day and age, they should receive punishment so this type of thing doesn’t get out of hand as well as to learn a lesson. I do NOT think they should receive child porn charges, as that was not their intent. What punishment is fit for the crime, is something that should be assessed.

When she pretends she’s an adult woman & puts herself in that position she stops being by her own account an underaged child. She behaves like an adult, she WANTS to be an adult & go ahead & does something like this: SHE NEEDS THE LESSON like some adult women that do this need this too.

My son’s first GF (two YEARS ago when they were 13), sent him a topless picture she took in her bathroom. He didn’t ask for it, that I could tell (His Dad and I later read the entire thread leading up to the picture).  It seemed to me, judging by the conversation before, that she was wanting to be “cool” and “grown up” and I’m sure she thought it would endear her to my son. Which I’m sure it did at that time LOL  But they broke up anyways a few months later. Her Mother alerted us to a text that my son sent saying “WOW you are SO sexy and hot”, and Mom was upset about that comment and feeling that my son was talking to her daughter in a disrespectful way. But when his Dad and I grabbed his phone and looked, we realized he made that comment *about* the picture she sent. The one she convienently deleted before her Mom checked her phone!! So her Mom was pretty upset when she realized what her daughter sent to solicit that remark from him.
Her Mom, and my son’s father and I explained to these kids that what they did was manufacturing/possessing child porn, and that they could get arrested and be labeled a sex offender over it. That sufficiently scared my son enough that he doesn’t want anything like that on his phone again. And we check!! I do actually hope they have changed these laws where kids doing this stuff don’t get their whole lives ruined over it, but it was still great to pull that out on my son and make him really consider how stuff like that could affect his future.
That being said, this kid deserves to be legally punished- he did this out of spite and coersion for sex she didn’t want to give him. Sounds like a sex offender already.
