ROEBUCK, SC – A couple have been arrested on drug charges hours after the body of their dead baby was found inside a lockbox in the back of a pickup truck.
Police say that the employer of 34-year-old Chuck McCullough called police after they received an anonymous call from a person claiming McCullough had called stating his 2-month-old baby had stopped breathing. When the tipster informed McCullough to call police and an ambulance, McCullough hung up stating he could not do that.
Later that day, dispatch received a call informing them that McCullough and his wife, 21-year-old Carissa McCullough, were riding around town in a truck with their dead infant. Police were finally able to locate the couple after receiving another call informing them of where the couple were.
At first police didn’t find any dead baby in the truck until the couple told them to look in the back. There, inside a lockbox, police discovered the dead body of Noah Darrell Dennis McCullough. A search warrant on the couple’s residence was executed and guess what police found inside? If you guessed a meth lab, then you are correct and have probably been reading here for awhile. they also found 3.2 grams of meth and three ecstasy tablets.
No charges have been filed against the couple in regards to the dead baby, as investigators are awaiting the coroner’s findings and the pending toxicology and microscopic examination. But they were charged with possession of that drug and possessing/ manufacturing meth.
After Judge Ashmore denied the couple’s bond Friday, and informed Carissa McCullough she should talk to the jail directors when she asked about attending Noah’s funeral. Her other two children have been placed in the custody of the Department of Social Services. I love how she’s concerned about Noah now, and not when he was being toted around like a common screwdriver.
Not surprisingly, Chuck has prior charges including various drug charges, domestic violence, traffic violations and larceny.Tags: Crime, death, Drugs, meth, South Carolina
