Teen Who Tried Hiring Hit Man Through Facebook Has Accepted Plea Deal

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – One of the dumbest teens I have had the pleasure of posting about has admitted that he solicited a hit man through Facebook to kill a woman who accused him of rape.
Police say 19-year-old Corey Adams made a post on his Facebook that stated, and I quote: ““I got 500 on a girls head who wants that bread? Hit me up anyway possible.”
The girl’s head he is referencing is a 20-year-old woman who told police that after she consumed three drinks at a party in June, she started feeling nauseous. She says Adams offered to drive her home in her car. She blacked out only to wake up to Adams allegedly cutting her pants leg of with a knife and raping her.
She reported it to police who set up some taped recordings, one in which the woman asks Adams why he raped her. It was after that conversation that genius went on Facebook looking for someone to kill her. Detective Stan Billie contacted Adams posing as a hit man and set up a meeting to discuss details.
Adams did not go to the meeting, telling the “hit man” he wanted to meet with the victim first. But Billie testified at a preliminary hearing that within minutes of being contacted about the rape allegations, Adams posted a new message on Facebook that said Adams, “needed this girl knocked off right now.”
Deciding it was time to bring him in before his go-get-it attitude actually got him the results he was looking for, police moved in and arrested Adams. On Friday, Adams accepted a plea deal with a possible sentence of 11-to-22 years in a state prison, followed by three years of probation, on charges of rape, criminal solicitation of murder, unlawful restraint and possession of an instrument of crime.
Taking the plea was the smartest decision Adams has made through all of this as the evidence against him was overwhelming. Prosecutors had the Facebook postings, taped conversations, DNA and the knife allegedly used as well as Adams own confession. Had he not took the plea, he would have been looking at 20 to 40 years in prison.
Prosecutors offered the plea in hopes of keeping the woman from having to testify at trial.
