Lake Ridge, VA — Police have charged 40-year-old Tyree Alexander with aggravated malicious wounding in a throat slashing incident that happened early Thursday morning.

Police say Alexander was out shoveling snow at about 4:20 a.m., when he was hit by a snowball thrown by an unidentified 23-year-old male. At that point, it was on. Alexander confronted the man and a fight ensued. As the fight progressed, Alexander reportedly pulled out a box cutter and slashed the other man’s throat – effectively ending the battle. Police say another fight broke out when the victim’s family confronted Alexander, but no other injuries were reported.

The younger man was flown to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, but has since improved and is expected to survive. Alexander is being held without bond pending a March 7 court date.

i’d be a bit cranky too if i were out shoveling snow at 4:30am. he was probably trying to get his car out for work or some shit (which would totally explain having a box cutter on hand).

teach that little shit to disrespect your elders lol.

  • aka jas

hahhhahahaa–funny. Nothing like slicing someone in the neck for throwing a snow ball–eh?

Duh! Don’t bring snowballs to a knife fight!

  • KBunnie

Everyone is saying take a joke. How about people respect total strangers and not do stupid ass shit to them. Throw snowballs at your own family and friends, not complete strangers. Ive had to shovel feet of snow off of my car by myself at 3am so I could get to work, alot of work. This 23 year old is a complete punk loser. Its sad to see no one ever has any respect for other people. Its a shame.

i condone this beat down – i’m only sorry because the guy got himself in a shit load of trouble for letting it escalate that far. a few punches would have done just fine.

i’ve shoveled my car out many a time to get my ass to work on time and the last thing i’d need is some dumb kid interfering with that.

too bad this guy let his temper get that out of hand, the little bastard deserved it.

  • aka jas

Did someone else say “take a joke”. I thought I was the only one. I am all about not fucking with random people. Shit I would be pissed if some threw a snowball at me in this scenario as well. But slice a dudes throat open….I think that was the damn point. It went to far. He didnt just give him a beat down, the snowball thrower got his neck sliced open.

So here we have a 23-year old adult male, with the brain capacity of a potted plant, wide awake at 4:30 am with nothing better to do than throw snowballs at an older man who is also up at this hour working hard to shovel the snow from his driveway…

Although I’ve learned to lower my expectations considerably when it comes to the intelligence level of people in society today, I still find myself amazed to see the inability some people have when it comes to simple logic and reasoning. This 23-yr old Einstein will probably continue on his merry way, eventually breed and introduce new offspring into the gene pool.

I hate that the confrontation resulted in violence and a life-threatening injury. Without knowing the details, I’ll withhold judgement on that one.

I keep a box-cutter in my purse as a means for self-defense. It is in the side pocket, easily accessible and when I leave work alone at night, my hand is on it. I hope I never have to use it but if I do, it is small & easy to keep hidden, difficult to take away, and can inflict a lot of damage quickly. I heard a story on the news of a woman who used one to defend herself and it saved her life.

Weapons of any sort are not to be taken lightly. Was it used in this case as an implement of “self-defense” or was it used as a result of “blind rage”? Until the details come out regarding what exactly happened, there is no way to know.

One thing is for certain…..this snow sniper blasted the wrong target!

A chill pill might be cheaper than a lawyer, a fine, and jail time. This guy has multiple issues. Perhaps you should go to criminally insane hospitals and plead their cases from their cells. Good luck sweetness!

  • Anonymous

Could be wrong, but a beatdown might go a little too far too… Maybe a loud “FUCK OFF” would have sufficed nicely.

  • Anonymous

Wow! Where the fuck do you live? It sounds like a really fucked up place on earth… carrying a box cutter? Jesus Christ what a paranoid fearful world you must live in…

  • http://www.infowars.com Domino

if it were TRULY about the snowball – the guy would have beaten him with the shovel. if it were TRULY some maniac being set off, he would have used whatever weapon he had available which was the shovel. after all this is a man with “multiple issues”.

so perhaps you need the same trip to the criminally insane hospital. where you might get a better handle on what a mentally unstable persons reacts like. i’d also like to offer you a buy one get one free trip to reality. you seem terribly sheltered and incapable of thinking beyond face value of the good guy bad guy scenario. media paints a bad guy, must be a bad guy. tsk. tsk.

there’s more going on here than a fucking snowball. we could delve deeper into the scenario and speculate that the kid out of fear of his beat down screamed “i have a gun” “i have a knife” – or reached for a weapon.

plenty of times i’ve watched a fist fight escalate from fists to someone screaming they have a knife – which causes the opponent to grab a stick, a rock etc.

either way this man reacted only because he was antagonized. seems like the crazy out of control person is the dumb ass kid who has no respect and threw a snowball into the face of a stranger.

i’d share a cup of coffee with mr. alexander any day.

There was a time I carried a loaded Colt 45 pistol, John. Not because I was looking for trouble; rather, because I knew that if trouble found me the police would be there to pick up the pieces after it was all over and I didn’t want one of those pieces being my corpse.

While I am glad that you have not come home to blood on your doorstep and the police guarding the crime scene, you have to understand that bad things do happen to good people and being prepared for those bad things does not, in turn, change the defender from a good person to a bad person. And yes, I moved as soon as I could afford to.

    Dear JohnQnowitall,
I assume your intent is not to be an irritating little weasel and that you really are shocked to think a woman might take precautionary measures when walking out of an empty building in Baton Rouge, LA alone at night. I can only imagine how nice it would be to reside within a mental utopia like you do, safely tucked away from harm within the cushion of fluffy little white clouds surrounded by rainbows, butterflies and neighbors named Mary Poppins. Unfortunately, the world that I live in is the same world that provides a multitude daily crime stories for sites like the DreaminDemon to display, providing hours of endless reading pleasure to others who do not live in a bubble like you do. (everyone else’s reality is your fiction).

While I don’t necessarily agree with the box cutter I do understand. I bet every time that 23 year old sees snow or a box cutter he will get a chill and think about his past actions.

I can’t STAND disrespectful people and though I think this was a hard way to teach a lesson I’m sure the snow ball attacker learned one.

I’m sure I should be outraged at what this man has done but I’m not.

I don’t live there. I live in Washington which has a reputation for crime. I don’t carry box cutters. I don’t have a gun in my home. I carry a pen though and never thought of using it for anything, but writing notes.

Living in a city of millions of people, very few are victims of crime.

I don’t live my life in fear.

FYI This guy lives in a fairly expensive neighborhood with virtually NO crime and a strong sense of community. A co-workers lives a few blocks away from this psycho. My guess is this guy was off his meds.

that’s a little thing called critical thinking – you should try it some time.

i know that process seems a bit foreign, a bit complex and scary – but once you open that tiny little box you’ll never look back.

  • http://www.infowars.com Domino

looks to me that we both agree that you’re a sheltered dolt more than anything else.

  • http://www.infowars.com Domino

shannon is leaning more towards reserve judgment and i’m in the he had it coming to him ring. but those details WOULD be over looked by you. having to actually take the time to remove the wool from your eyes might denounce any thought you may have had.

bashing a 23 yr old twat for throwing objects at strangers at 4:30am makes perfect sense no matter who did the slicing.

“I hate that the confrontation resulted in violence and a life-threatening injury. Without knowing the details, I’ll withhold judgement on that one. ”

see that? re-read it. pretty black and white if you ask me.

now continue to read the absolute ridiculous comment about women taking precautions – especially after reading this site.

ok now LOL at yourself and admit you were bored and just desperately looking to stir some shit, rather than rely on your true thoughts and opinions to fuel a fire – which is way cooler – you lose the internet today sir.

now we’ll continue down to where shannon and i giggle about free trips to john land – see that? that’s where the agreeing comes in.

got it? get it? probably not, but it was fun.

Again emphasizing this time that I believe you probably dropped out of school at 16 or earlier (and not with a degree). I really am proud of you for knowing the word “dolt” (no doubt you were called this before being fired from your counter job at a dollar store).

FYI The neighborhood, a very good one, where your hero lives hasn’t seen any crime in years until he decided to defend himself in a way that we here in the north call a crime.

  • Anonymous

Your critical thinking seems to follow the stand of conjecture. I stand corrected.

  • Anonymous

BTW What are you doing in an empty building?

  • http://www.infowars.com Domino

    LOL! lets meassure epeens!

you – unemployed. divorced. single with an undisclosed number of kids – however that’s not speculation or a lame attempt at a low blow. that’s the cold hard truth. honestly i thought you could have done better than that … dropping out? and a dollar store job? pfft put the claws away kitty, you might hurt yourself.

me – happily married, living on a gorgeous brazilian beach, able to sustain myself and husband if he by some chance gets himself fired for playing one too many pc games while programing some poor souls computer. yes life is rough for us dollar store drop outs.

as for my hero – lolwut? how is that even relevant. you’re trying to emphasize that this was a maniac because it’s a good neighborhood?

um. no. that would just cement the idea that the kid probably cried wolf and got himself slashed. especially since this is suuuch an amazing neighborhood with such a great sense of community – surely there would have been other incidents that would raise alarm and have had the cops out to pay a visit. since he has “multiple issues” and all.

sure it’s a crime, at face value.

Do you fasten your seat belt when you drive because the law tells you to, or do you fasten it because you know from your reading of statistics that your chances of surviving a collision go up several orders of magnitude if you’re wearing a seat belt?

Do you slow down when the roads are wet because you know that wet roads provide less traction than dry ones do, or do you slow down because you will need to prove that you weren’t being reckless if you get into an accident?

Do you wear your PPE at work because you know you’ll get fired if you don’t, or do you wear it because you know it reduces or eliminates the incidence of serious injury?

Me? I wear my seat belt, slow down, and wear PPE out of prudence — not fear. Fear would be fastening my seat belt because it’s the law, slowing down to avoid court troubles, and wearing PPE to keep from getting fired.

Prudence is the reason I have a first-aid kit and a fire extinguisher in my vehicle. It is why I don’t pet snarling dogs and buzzing rattlesnakes. It is also why I carried a 45.

Even though you claim to be a critical thinker I see no signs of it.

Your analysis/guess of my background is a fail.
Your analysis of your background appears to me to be a lie based on too many made for television movies.

I still think you are wrong and that your thinking is generally backwards and flawed. I am assuming (I don’t know for sure and don’t claim this to be critical thinking [btw look that up]) that you are raising your children to honor trailer trash law rather than the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which they do/will live.

Lots of luck on your life, child raising practices which include teach the kids how to “cut” someone, and those dreams that will never come true.

    1. I fasten my seatbelt and make my passengers do the same because I don’t want to die and I don’t want my friends to die either. (My parents taught me this as a kid)
    2. I slow down on wet pavements because I do not want to hydroplane and kill/injure others or myself.
    3. I don’t work in an environment that requires PPE, but when I have visited construction sites, I do wear a helmet because I don’t like the idea of drooling out of one side of my mouth.

I keep a firstaid kit in the car too… but you got me on the fire extinguisher (which now brought to mind is a great idea and thanks for the idea). I don’t interact with animals with a dubious character either.

I don’t carry a gun because statistically the gun is taken from the owner by the criminal who in turn shoots the owner of the gun or the owner of the gun mistakenly kills a close family member. I do, and maybe I shouldn’t, look at non-law enforcement officials/non-military personel who carry guns with great suspicion.

“Your analysis/guess of my background is a fail.”

how is it fail if it’s already self admitted? in your posts. one i vividly remember you whining about not being able to afford memberships due to unemployment(and i’m the one working at the dollar store?) i got laid off and my SAVINGS allowed me to keep my life going and afford extras. until i was back to work. i was in my early 20s – car payment, rent, cable, internet, tons of subscriptions..

i don’t need to lie about my life, it’s already quite the story. believe it or not there are motivated, adventurous people out there who choose to break away from the norm and spend their lives LIVING. not EXISTING.

too good to be true? yeah it is. even i can’t believe i’ve done so much in such a short life.

now really. this has turned into an epeen war, but like i said, mines bigger than yours.

    toodles, kitten.

I don’t believe that your background is what you say it is.

FYI My firm failed about 8 months ago due to clients not being able to pay. Another company is in the making and at the same time I provide financial support to families of children who need financial assistance; I have no children of my own (and I know this as fact). I am not poor if I drop my charitable work or if my new company takes off. I do have to say that my ego took a hit, but nothing I could do when the business failed except pick up the pieces and start a new. Do I feel like a loser? Yes. Have I given up? No.

Your life sounds a little too magical and I am not buying it. Your educational level doesn’t seem to fit your words. Living on a Brazilian beach? I’ve been to Brazil many times. Which beach?

    Cites?

I think I know what you’re referencing when you say, “The owner of the gun etc”. There was an anti-gun coroner who took all the shooting deaths in his jurisdiction and manipulated the data until he got the results he wanted. He tossed out any instances of a firearm being used outside the home for self-defense, any instances of a firearm being used to capture a felon engaged in a felonious assault against the firearm owner, and any instances of a firearm being deployed and the felon fleeing at the sight of the weapon. Then he redefined “family member or acquaintance” to include those the gun owner knew, whether the gun owner knew the acquaintance as a friend or an enemy, and family members who were actively attempting to injure the gun owner at the time of their demise.

The result? “A firearm kept in the home for self-protection is 43 times more likely to kill a family member or acquaintance than it is to kill a burglar”. And because that sound bite came with the imprimatur of a MD it got a helluva lot more respect than it deserved.

I do, and maybe I shouldn’t, look at non-law enforcement officials/non-military personel who carry guns with great suspicion.

Ex-military too? Of course, you can’t tell merely by looking who is ex-military and who is a lifelong civilian, can you? Nor can you tell merely by looking who is a cop unless he or she is displaying a badge or wearing a uniform.

Are you aware that non-LE gun carriers shoot the wrong person 2% of the time they are forced to draw and fire? And are you aware that LE shoots the wrong person 11% of the time when they fire?

LOL you’re not buying it huh? the world is a magical place believe it or not.

i live on the beach in the state of sao paulo – and if you want “proof” click on my name i have a bunch of random pictures of daily living. yep, it’s home sweet home. it’s amazing what these “uneducated” dollar store cashiers can achieve with their lives huh?

perhaps before you knock another person’s way of living you should have a pristine example of one yourself. taking care of kids that aren’t yours? firms crashing? unemployment? – lol yeah tell me where i can sign up to be just like you.

i believe in work. i believe in effort. i believe in dreams. i believe you can get the things you want by working outside the box, and do so on your own. everything i’ve achieved has been with my own funds and my own effort – and 100% moral and legal lol.

i love my fairy tale. i love life, i am a truly blessed individual. people like you allow me to see that everyday. however, i am going to suggest we knock off acting like two hens. it’s been fun. however it’s gone way off topic and turned into me vs you type thing.

LOL another dumbed down american who thinks the country is still the glory hole it once was. the stereo type that americans are fat, and uneducated should also apply, correct?

here are some facts for you to munch on (please put down the t.v dinner)

did you know the dollar has suffered 91% devaluation since 1971? 30% of that being in 2010?

that the GDP in 2011 was only 2.3% for america (i’m sure you don’t know exactly what that means as you never fail to make ignorant remarks that make you look like an inbred cave dweller. that means gross. domestic. product. WHICH BREAKS DOWN TO YEARLY GROWTH) where as brazil has 4.1%.

the unemployment rate in brazil is 6% while the unemployment in the united states is a whopping 20%. THE US GOVERNMENT OWES 13 TRILLION DOLLARS WHERE BRAZIL IS >OWED< 42 BILLION – sooo that means brazil is OWED money. this country is amazingly successful and outshining america each day – hardly 3rd world at all.

i'm sure you're blissfully unaware that america is in a recession as your food stamps still come in on time each month. IT DID NOT END IN 2009 although i'm sure the governement would like you to think so.

as long as americans still have their cheap mcdonald's, their football, their ipods, their t.v they'll continue to march around making ridiculous comments about the world such as yourself.

one more thing, with america's continual decline you're seeing prices rise (especially with food – FAST FOOD NOT INCLUDED), your goods from china will now be more expensive – you can thank your new overlords for that, the united states are nearly to $4.00 a gallon while in brazil gasoline is $1.00 per gallon – i could go on and on.

CAN YOU NOT SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING TO YOUR COUNTRY???? GET OFF YOUR OMG! TMZ! CELEB! WEBSITES AND FUCKING READ! VOTE WHILE YOU'RE AT IT.

i love america. i fucking love it, i would love for nothing more than it to be the country of glory it once was, however that does not mean countries outside of the united states are 3rd world.

really you dumb bitch, the world is full of growth and prosperity. i apologize for the essay, kind of.

I am so fucking jealous of her that I WILL NOT look at her piccy’s again. So stop describing them please, you are tempting me damn it!

OMG! Thanks for reminding me to take mine! No wonder I’ve been thinking of cutting up a bunch of random strangers today. Damn it, I need to figure out a way of remembering to take those fucking things before I kill someone.

I used to carry around my Swiss Army knife, especially when I visited my grandmother in Florida. Fucking Canuckistan though, if I want to carry around my knife for protection, I need to walk around waving it for all to see so I don’t get charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Sucks ass.

Are you 12? Name calling isn’t necessary. A healthy discussion/debate isn’t won by flinging shit you know.

It’s not “fear”, it’s “always be prepared”! We learn that in the Scouts.

Imperfect, shouldn’t we be more concerned about birdfeet’s lack of substance rather than a lib tag?
