Reginald Bartlett Got Stabby After Wife Caught Him Watching Porn

Bethany, OK — Reginald Bartlett told police he came home Saturday evening to find that his wife, 57-year-old Cathy Bartlett, had been stabbed to death. Bartlett hinted that the stabbing may have been the work of home intruders as a couple of drawers had been pulled open and items were strewn about the house. Before police could interview him, he was transported to a hospital because of his “distraught demeanor.” Once released, and after sitting through nearly three hours of questioning, Bartlett confessed, telling investigators he “snapped” when his wife caught him watching porn. According to him, Cathy walked into the computer room that evening, took one look at what was on the computer monitor, and began yelling at him about some bank statement. Cathy apparently believed her husband had been blowing dough on porn, and at some point during the altercation, hauled off and slapped him upside the head. That’s about the time he got to stabbin’. After stabbing her multiple times, Bartlett told police he pulled some of her clothes off to make it look like his wife had been raped, then emptied a drawer out on the floor to make it look like the house had been burglarized. Forgetting about the whole “make it look like a forced-entry” thing, Bartlett collected the murder weapon, his computer and the clothing he was wearing at the time, placed ‘em all in a black bag and tossed ‘em into Lake Overholser. After a visit to a sporting goods store to check out golf equipment, Bartlett headed Southern Nazarene University to take in a basketball game. It wasn’t until he returned home after the game that he called 911. Bartlett told investigators that he is a “sick individual” with an addiction to pornography. He’s been booked on charges of second-degree murder. Family members say he and Cathy would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on January 31. Many thanks, hellsbells.

      Judging by his reaction, I’m betting it was probably a little more serious than your standard garden-variety porn. Even in Oklahoma, where anything harder than T&A is illegal to own (well, it was when I lived there), one does not usually toss their computer into a lake after having been nabbed looking at it. I am willing to bet he was eye-ballin’ some underage participants and when the wife saw it, she probably started yelling about something other than bank statements.

      My soon-to-be-ex is a sex addict, and I can’t tell you how many times I caught him looking at shit that would’ve had Chris Hansen’s panties in a knot. Last summer, in addition to finding about 10 teen-porn flicks hidden in his closet, I caught him with a dozen pictures of a co-worker’s ass on his cell phone; a quick hack turned up roughly 800 more downloaded onto his computer (she was clothed, but didn’t know he was surreptitiously snapping pictures of her rear whenever she bent over, or her crotch when she was facing him). I confronted him with this shit (all taken in less than a 9-week span) and threatened to turn him in to his boss and the MPs (the pics were all taken on a military base where he worked as a contractor). I guess I was lucky HE didn’t get stabby – he just threw me across the room and choked me almost unconscious. The possibility of his getting murderous is why I left once and for all, though.

      For all that, however, I was pretty used to his general sex-addict behavior and I wouldn’t have gone off on simply finding more regular, every-day smut on his computer. And I can tell you that after 30 years of marriage, this lady was probably pretty accustomed to the porn addiction and would’ve felt the same way.

      REPORT HIS ASS TO THE AUTHORITIES… don’t let him be someone else’s problem or murderer.

      I agree… you have an obligation to report the guy, and don’t be afraid… he’ll back off if you’ll also get a VPO {Victim’s Protection Order} at the same time, maybe even a day before you report him to his upline Supervisor and the base. A simple “how sad” or something to that effect is the most that should be said. when talking about the death of someone. and the end of a 30 year marriage it should be obvious that it is deeper than any of you comprehend. just please be respectful
