Two Men Accused Of Raping Children In Church

January 12, 2011 at 11:55 am by

Jacksonville, FL. — Two men are facing charges after allegedly assaulting teenagers in a church, Greater Refuge Temple. 56-year-old Paul Keith Groover and 45-year-old Darrell Vincent Moore have pleaded not guilty to sexual assault charges. According to the arrest warrants, Groover molested a boy for several years and would text him various locations in the church to meet him for sex. Groover, who was a janitor at the time and is the son of Greater Refuge Temple Pastor Gentle Groover Sr., would also text the boy naked pictures. Moore is accused of raping several girls, including one at knifepoint in the church’s video room, where he threatened to kill the girl if she ever told anyone. Although both are charged with sexual battery, Moore is also charged with lewd and lascivious conduct. In an effort to strengthen the case, authorities monitored a phone call between Groover and the victim. During that call, Groover told the boy that he didn’t need therapy, but rather prayer and time would help him forget.
