Owner Of Oregon Security Company Charged With Robbing His Clients
December 17, 2010 at 11:09 am by MorbidHILLSBORO, OREGON – The owner of a security company and two of his empl0yees have been arrested and charged with robbing from the companies they had been paid to protect. Stirling Anderson, 27, is the owner of Northwest Merchant Patrol and had been hired to perform after-hours security for Oregon Episcopal School. After an April break in left the school without some flat screen televisions and some laptops, they became suspicious and secretly hired Arcadia Security Department to watch the school and Northwest Merchant Patrol. Just after 2 a.m. last Saturday, an Arcadia employee witnessed Northwest’s owner, Stirling Anderson, and one of his employees, Sheldon McMillan, 21, leaving the school carrying stolen property and called police. The two men were arrested for investigation of burglary and theft along with a third employee, 39-year-old David Smith. Detectives searched the three men’s homes and reportedly recovered over $100,000 in stolen property including a dozen laptops, multiple flat-screen televisions and several digital cameras. Some of the items, including a remote control car and a copy of HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS, were to be given to the poor but were found wrapped under Anderson’s Christmas tree. The school wasn’t the only one of Northwest’s clients to report thefts with no signs of forced entry. St. Matthews Lutheran Church and the Portland Golf Club also reported thefts in recent months.
