SOMERVILLE, N.J. – That actress I did not remember who starred in films I did not watch and a show I hated back in the ’90s has been indicted in the fatal car crash she caused in New Jersey earlier this year.  38-year-old Amy Locane-Bovenizer, who starred in the show MELROSE PLACE, was indicted on manslaughter and assault-by-automobile charges yesterday by a Somerset County grand jury. “Alcohol intoxication, excessive speed and reckless driving were the proximate cause of the death of Helene Seeman and injuries sustained by Fred Seeman,” Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey Soriano said in a statement issued yesterday. Police say that Locane was driving her 2007 Chevy Tahoe drunk back in July while being followed by a driver she had rear-ended. Seven miles from the original hit-and-run and several flattened mailboxes later, her drunken antics ended when she broadsided the passenger side of a car driven by Fred Seeman. Taking the brunt of the impact was 60-year-old Helene Seeman who would be pronounced dead at the scene while Fred was transported to the hospital by helicopter with serious injuries.

Responding officers found Locane at the scene stinking of alcohol and suffering from a scratch on her foot. While in custody she admitted to having several glasses of wine prior to killing Helene. Locane is probably wishing this had happened in LA where she would serve no time and a parade would be thrown in her honor.  She has been freed on $50,00 bail and I am real curious if she will have to serve any of the 35 years in prison she could get if any of us were convicted of this crime.

@dreamindemon Ha, her claim to fame is “Melrose Place” cracks me up… it’s been like 15 yrs & it’s all she’s known for, now killing a man.

  • Miss Anthrope

selfish bitch – I hope she spends a lot of time in prison thinking about how fucked up she is

I dunno, I bet she doesn’t get any special treatment. After all, who?? the hell is she, she’s an F list actress apparently. Plus, yeah NJ instead of LA….she’s screwed. And she’ll deserve every bit of it. I hate selfish drunk drivers who kill innocent people, and don’t even have the decency to die themselves.

I’m too lazy to look her up. Did she actually star in Melrose Place or was she some extra in the background?

  • mjkforever

@plainbelliedsneetch: She starred in the first season. I’m so ashamed to admit that I know that.

She looked pretty cute back then.

She also had a bit part in the movie “The Secretary”.

She was in a movie called “Carried away” with Dennis Hopper a long time ago, too. She was a young girl who had an affair with Hopper’s character.

Several nudes scenes if I remember correctly, including one on a horse. Very hot.

Can’t think of a single reason a lush would lose her career path (she had a huge break and blew it). Now she is just a felon who used to be on tv.

I looked her up and she played Brendan Fraser’s girlfriend in “Airheads”.

She’s married with 2 kids. Her husband owns a Fine Wine and Liqour store.

Not, if I may be so bold, a particularly great piece of publicity for his business, then.

And also bad news for any attempt she might make at drying out. With all that booze to hand she will find it difficult not to succumb to temptation.
