DAYTON, Ohio – A police car’s dash cam caught an officer being attacked by the person he pulled over, as well a Good Samaritan who jumped into the fray to give him a hand. Last Saturday night, Dayton Police Officer Jonathan Seiter stopped a car because of a missing headlight. When the driver, Otto Coleman, was asked to step out of his vehicle he became physically combative and turned out to be quite scrappy for a 64-year-old. During the fight, Coleman can be seen reaching for Officer Seiter’s gun and Taser on his belt and occasionally getting the upper-hand on Seiter. The officer calls for backup and receives it in the form of a woman, who police have not identified, who ran up and started hitting Coleman in the head, allowing Seiter to place some pretty solid shots to Coleman’s face. A fellow police officer arrives and Coleman is finally taken to the ground. Turns out Coleman has quite the criminal history including charges of felonious assault with intent to murder, felonious assault with intent to maim, three counts of felonious assault, two which were against a police officer. They have now added attempted aggravated robbery, resisting arrest, and assault on a police officer for this latest incident. I just watched this officer on GMA and while he did say that they do not recommend citizens getting physically involved in these situations, he gave a heart-felt thank you to the woman who did, stating he felt Coleman was trying to kill him. Incarceration has taught him well has it not. Three cheers for the everyday hero… you go girl! And for the police officer … lay off the doughnuts dude they are makin’ ya soft!

Oh, that could have gone terribly wrong had he gotten a hold of the gun. I think this is the reason they *usually* place the suspect in cuffs prior to searching them ‘for the officers own safety’.

AT 3:50 I believe the woman says, “come on baby” and then maybe, “let’s move”. Wonder if she had a child w/ her. Nonetheless, brave woman and probably saved the cops life.

You go girrrrrrrrrllll! I love good samaritans. I am just glad this did no go against her. This was indeed a scary guy! I bet she shows up in court for the police officer even with the many delays the defendant’s attorney will impose on the courts.

Makes me wanna jump in there and get a couple kicks in.
Had I been the police officer I would have had my gun in hand
and we would be looking at a dead criminal in the film.

After Coleman was distracted, the officer did land some heavy blows.  If I were a cop, I’d keep a knife that opens with one hand in each pocket, woulda came in handy here.
