Toddler Dies After Being Tossed Off Fifth-Level Walkway, Grandmother Charged

Tysons Corner, VA – Two-and-a-half year-old Angelyn Ogdoc died early this morning after succumbing to injuries she sustained after being tossed off of a fifth-level walkway by her grandmother, 50-year-old Carmela Dela Rosa. According to police, Dela Rosa and other family members were on the elevated walkway Monday night, walking from the shopping mall to the parking garage, when, for whatever reason, Dela Rosa picked the toddler up and tossed her over the waist-level guardrail to the pavement 40-50 feet below. Dela Rosa and the toddler’s other relatives remained at the scene until police and paramedics arrived. Initially charged with aggravated malicious wounding, Dela Rosa will likely face manslaughter or murder charges in the horrific incident. She is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. While there is a security camera on the walkway, it is unknown if the incident was captured.     I just went to post this on the forums, and here it is already. Morbid is faster than a squirrel on meth. Back to the story… If this evil bitch gets manslaughter charges vs. murder charges, I will personally break into the prison she is housed in and shank this hoe.. Can you imagine being the other family members who were there and WITNESSED their grandma/mother/whatever kill this little 2 year old? Poor little girl… :(

    WTF? Who does this shit? And why is this grandmom not dead herself since the “family members” hung around for police to come. I would think the mother alone would beat the crap out of her before police got there.

    This happened very close to where I live (15 minute drive?). I have to say that walking across these walks many times over the years, I never imagined anything like this happening. I know it is probably not the case, but I keep thinking that the grandmother may have picked her up and lost control of her and the child fell over the railing. Or, stupidly, holding the child close to the rail to stop her crying and then to lose control.

    All of us as children were pain in the necks from time to time when shopping with relatives. This is just fucked up.

    The grandmother must have something psychologically wrong to do this sort of thing.

    @Athena: Actually my response was about what JGo555 said regarding bitching out the grandmother, etc.

    I actually believe I would first want to run as fast as possible to find my child to comfort her.

    I don’t lik the death penalty for the simple reason that to kill another person is barbaric. I think a lifetime of incarceration is just the right measure for the crime.

    She was found guilty and sentenced to 35 years in prison. The article I read gave her reason for doing this. She did it to hurt her son-in-law, whom she hated for getting her daughter pregnant out of wedlock.
