Babysitter Accused Of Severely Scalding Toddler

Stupid bitch, don’t you know that child was screaming in pain. She should have immediately called 911. Isn’t 137 set kinda high, was doing a little reading and they say with that setting you can definitely get 3rd degree burns. Most I have read said 120.

Poor, poor kid. I know that has to hurt like hell. I’d be ready to KILL someone for doing that to one of my children.
I feel so very fortunate that I never had to face finding a caregiver for my children when they were little–I read stories like this and thank my lucky stars that my husband or I were always able to be with them.

That is horrible, How could anyone inflict that amount of pain on a toddler? I hope they lock her ass up for life and think it is a travesty that she is out on bond.

At the end of the video there is a neglect case as well. I looked it up and that girls baby was terribly abused. At only 5 weeks old when taken for injuries already had a healed broken wrist.

My son just started using the bathroom he wont use his potty but he will use the toilet like a big boy. I’m so proud of him I still keep him in pull up’s for now though but here soon I’m going to stop buying them. What happened to this poor child here is why we are affraid to hire a babysitter or even let him stay with anyone but my wifes mom and my grandpa.

This is heartbreaking and heinous.
When we fall, we instinctively put out our arms and hands to help break the fall; the fact that this poor baby’s arms and hands are unscathed essentially prove his injuries are inconsistent with “falling” into a tub of “lukewarm” water.
What his injuries do indicate, is that he was picked up and physically placed into scalding water, in a sitting position, and probably held there by force for several minutes.
These are quite severe scalding burns, and the fact that his genital area (also known as the “critical 1% area”) is compromised means that he is doubly susceptible to infections and complications in regards to grafting/surgical procedures and healing.

He had to have been in tremendous pain, and would have undoubtedly been screaming and crying. The fact that Irene Martin did not even bother to change his clothes for over an hour is further evidence of this being an intentional act on her part, as most people will change a child’s soaking wet clothes for dry ones fairly quickly – especially if one suspects the child was injured, which his screams would have obviously indicated.
Leaving him in the clothes that he was scalded in only serves to lengthen his pain and increase the severity of his burns, as the garments held the hot temperature of the water next to his skin even after he had been removed from the water.
Had this been an actual accident, his injuries would have been noticed almost immediately, as his clothes would have also been changed immediately, and getting medical attention for his injuries would have been an act of urgency, instead of an afterthought, as it appears to have been in this case.

A “huge mistake”, a “bad decision”, a “dumb, dumb idea” on her part?
No, none of the above.
It was an act of anger and abuse, with the intent to cause injury, but not to face the ramifications and legal repercussions of the act itself, in the abuser’s mind.
People like Irene Martin sicken me, and stir indescribable loathing with their hideous and hurtful actions.

And this is why many people don’t babysit my son…..

I found potty training fairly frustrating myself. My 4 1/2 year old still has “accidents” because she likes to delay going and insists she doesn’t need to. Odd, it never occured to me to just inflict painful torment on my kids to convince them that after years of letting them go in their pants I now want to change the rules…
