Man Charged With Killing Off-Duty Detective During Dispute Over Parking Space

Baltimore, Maryland — A man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder after he killed an off-duty police detective during an argument over a parking space. Brian Stevenson was celebrating his 38th birthday with friends on Saturday night when he pulled into a parking space in front of a restaurant. He was approached by 25-year-old Sian James and an argument ensued in which witnesses describe James using a piece of concrete to hit Stevenson in the head before fleeing the scene with a female companion. The 18-year police veteran would be rushed to the hospital where he would later die from his injuries. James, who has a history of domestic violence, was picked up later that evening at a downtown nightclub. Stevenson was described as a great detective whose unit investigates crimes such as shootings, assaults and robberies. He leaves behind a wife and children.

To many questions on this one. Was the officer unarmed? How was a street thug able to swing a piece of concrete and hit a policeman in the head with it and kill him, And what bothers me most is the Captain getting on the T.V. and stating that a arrest would be made by days end. This guy here may be a patsy – a fall guy if you will.

In this day and age. You need to be more alert as in, just give up the damn parking spot or your ass could end up at the MORGUE. Don’t fight over dumb crap it could cost you your life. (the airport is different, I’ll kill for the closest spot)

Not sure how it is in Maryland. Every police officer I know that works LAPD carries their weapon on them at all times. This guy would have been shot quick here in Los Angeles.

I am sure that in DC you could not carry a gun off duty. Had to check
it at end of shift but I think they repealed that law.

lol there’s a few times i’ve felt like a physical confrontation in a parking lot.

after those fucking tards get done milling around in my blind spots, after someones cart is pushed off into the middle and you swerve to avoid messing your paint, after someone’s toddler runs out into the middle of the whole mess..

not sure i’d take a concrete block to someone’s head, i’m more in favor of spitting, tossing soda cans, cussing.. etc. i’m usually pretty passive about losing a parking spot – i guess walking a bit further than normal never got me down. the lazy bastards.

I had a woman race me to a gas pump the other day. I was coming in from one end and her fat butt was coming in from the other. She just kept her on coming, I let her have the pump. I figured looking like that she had enough grief to deal with.
An altercation over a parking spot is ridiculous let alone a death because of said altercation. Park and walk a few extra steps will probably do ya good.

There is nothing more to this story than a parking spot. This is my hood. It happens on a daily basis. Thugs everywhere.

I actually miss the trailer park. At least there we only had to worry about our dogs being raped. The one murder (which was also featured here) was a domestic, not a random crime.

I used to live in Puerto Rico & road rage can’t be used as a defense in court because EVEN KIDS THAT DON’T DRIVE HAVE IT. There’s more vehicles than people in the damned island. My dad owns 5 vehicles & there’s only 3 drivers in the house (although he’d be the happiest man if he owned a dealership which he didn’t have to sell anything but acquire more).

This isn’t uncommon at all there. People fight over parking spots on a daily basis since their lives ALSO revolves around the horrible traffic jams. You have to leave your house 1hr earlier than where you’re due so that you can get through the jam on time & maybe get a decent parking spot. This story isn’t as bad as the one down there where the pregnant girl took a parking spot close to the store & this dude got out of his car & shot her to death for it.

Yeah seriously….people keep asking for the rest of the story. WTF are you talking about??? Regardless of what happened the guy clubbed another person over the head with a piece of concrete!…and then went clubbing. what else could POSSIBLY be told to justify this?
