October 18, 2010 at 8:24 am by MorbidBaltimore, Maryland — A man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder after he killed an off-duty police detective during an argument over a parking space. Brian Stevenson was celebrating his 38th birthday with friends on Saturday night when he pulled into a parking space in front of a restaurant. He was approached by 25-year-old Sian James and an argument ensued in which witnesses describe James using a piece of concrete to hit Stevenson in the head before fleeing the scene with a female companion. The 18-year police veteran would be rushed to the hospital where he would later die from his injuries. James, who has a history of domestic violence, was picked up later that evening at a downtown nightclub. Stevenson was described as a great detective whose unit investigates crimes such as shootings, assaults and robberies. He leaves behind a wife and children.
