Father Charged With Stalking His Own Daughter

August 29, 2010 at 3:30 pm by

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla – I was on my way to church when the Lord told me to turn around, smoke a bowl and post a couple stories that didn’t make the cut on Friday. Starting with a man who was charged with stalking his own daughter. Cops noticed a car cruising around a women’s shelter in a suspicious manner and pulled him over. The driver, 59-year-old Dennis Hobbs, was found to be wearing camouflage makeup and had a loaded gun, a wig, a camera and a notebook detailing a woman’s movements. The woman was his 19-year-old daughter who had recently been granted a restraining order against her father stating she lived in fear of her overly protective, religious father who disapproved of her lifestyle. Hobbs told officers that he was just protecting his daughter who he feared was in danger because of bad life decisions. He was charged with misdemeanor stalking to which he pleaded not guilty. His lawyer stated all this sounds worse than it really is. “He was just concerned for her safety,” said Kym Rivellini.  The judge presiding over the court hearing stated he felt that Hobbs did love his daughter but  ”when our kids reach a certain age, there’s only so much we can do … but we don’t paint our faces up and go out at 10:30 at night with a gun in the car.” Crazy eyes, man…the dude has crazy eyes.

”when our kids reach a certain age, there’s only so much we can do … but we don’t paint our faces up and go out at 10:30 at night with a gun in the car.”

I don't have any kids, so I would call that a typical weekend night out.

    Religious fanatics scare me too.

All stalkers “love” their victims. At least they think they do, they actually love to control the lives of their victims and react like insane people when they lose that control.

I hate to admit it but this could have been me on my kids first day at school….minus the religion.

I think this guy has a hard on for his daughter and I won't be surprised to hear that there is more to this story.

That exactly what i was thinking there's more to this story it wouldn't surprised me if he has__ been molesting his daughter for many years… and now he can't bare the fact that she all grown up and is control of her life now and he can no longer molest her…….. i hope not but something not right if your 'daddy' stalking you!!!!

You need to post this in every stalker or domestic violence thread. This goes straight to the heart of the matter!

I want to know what he was planning to do with that gun. I can't imagine how terrified that girl was to have to run from her own father to a women's shelter. This crackpot needs a rubber room.

WTF does he need a gun for if he's trying to protect her. He can just add a tracking chip to his daughter's cellphone & know where she's at. BTW, if he was worried for her safety he wouldn't be disguised. & what tha hell is with these damned religious fanatics!?

  • aka jas

Morbid, I thank God every single day that I found you. ;.)
    Okay that was awkward.
    Nice opening.

If a religious fanatic decides “God wants me to” there are no limits to what crimes might be committed. From murder and incest to mass suicide and genocide.
