U.S. Ambassador to Thailand’s Teen Daughter Falls To Her Death

NEW YORK - The The 17-year-old daughter of of the U.S. Ambassador to Thailand fell to her death from the 25th floor of the Herald Towers Friday morning. Nicole John was pronounced dead at the scene after being found on a third-floor ledge of the building with severe trauma to her body. Investigators say Nicole was attending a party on the 25th floor with her friends after having just left a club. An investigation is underway, but witnesses say the group was heavily intoxicated and Nicole may have been leaning out of the high-rise’s window for fresh air when she fell over the edge. Ilan Nassimi, 25, was hosting the late night party and was charged with unlawful dealing with a child for supplying alcohol to someone under the age of 21. With any luck, she passed out before falling. According to the ambassador’s website, Nicole attended high school in Bangkok, but had returned to new York to attend college where she was planning to major in fine arts.

      I read during look at some photos that people said she climed out on the ledge and plunged to her death. I wonder if they mean she jumped?

      I think my biggest drunken mistake was dancing with Santa at a club on a speaker box and my sister-in-law took pictures.I still have not lived that one down. I didn't even remember doing it! *hangs head in shame*

      I don't know anything about Herald Towers, but in my experience it's very odd for a floor as high as 25 to have windows of a sort where this could happen quite so easily on accident. She was simply leaning out the window for air, they think? Weird that this was so easy. Also, it sounds like no one saw it happen. They just THINK it's what happened. Hmm.

      I read elsewhere that a camera was found next to or near her body, and that she may have wanted to take a picture or something like that and fell.
